Well done for creating such a good presentation - it will benefit Turin and us street photographers. I would like more cities to see photographers on their streets as a real plus.
What great news, all the best for you! And: I feel a bit busted as I have to admit that the profile of 'photographer type 2' fits perfectly to mine. But my passion started when I was a child.
Here´s what my keynote in Turin was about exactly: What is Street Photography? Street photography is all about capturing candid moments in urban environments, documenting non-staged, daily life situations and finding beauty in the mundane. One of the first famous street photographer is Henri Cartier Bresson who started his career in the 1930s in Paris. My photography style: Non-Aggressive approach No paparazzi style like Bruce Gilden, but waiting and composing In my photography it’s all about light and mood, and the city itself as the main character This photography genre is rising in popularity since digital cameras became popular about 15 years ago, also because street photography is trending on social media. How Street Photographers influence the image of a city Street Photographers transports the image and the essence of a city to the rest of the world They are active in social media and publish photos in magazines and photo books Attracts more visitors to the city and boosts the identification of the locals with their city Lets talk about an idea I had while exploring Turin, maybe it is a bit unusual, but before let me tell you a few words about the personalities of street photographers Basically there are 2 main kinds of Street Photographers: The semi-professional Street Photographers often have a huge social media following between 20 and 40, male and female They transport their message via social media and can help create a positive image of a city How to attract these kind of Street Photographers? Direct invitation or a dedicated special Street Photography event or attraction, but I will come to that later The hobby Street Photographer Mostly between 40 and 70, predominantly male, well-educated and wealthy Do not post in social media, but Follows the recommendations of the „younger Street Photographers“ they found on social media We need type number 1 to attract number 2. Why is Turin the perfect playground for photographers Grandiosity of architecture in the inner parts of Turin Changing light throughout the day - first and last spot to visit on sunny days Thousands of angles and perspectives Real-life stories 24h Arcades for photography at any weather, beautiful light spots, protection from rain. Talking about rainy days: In the last days it was raining non-stop, but Turin is still an amazing place for street photographers. Let me show you why: Reflecting your own view of Turin -When you have seen one image of a person walking with an umbrella through the rain, you don’t have to shoot 50 more. It’s boring for the photographers and for the viewers… -But: Photographing reflections is different - so many possibilities + angles that 2 photographers - even if they tried won’t get the same photo -Turin is great for reflection photography to make complex, visually intriguing photos: wide squares and streets for sufficient light even on cloudy days, beautiful old shopping windows and neon signs all over the the city -So my idea was: Let’s build something to combine an element with a reflective surface to excite photographers and create a unusual space for photo exhibitions at the same time The photo igloo - Igloo-shaped object hundreds of little mirrors on the outside as a treat for photographers like a „Disco bowl cut in half“ -On the inside: exhibition space for photography Lets built several of them, place 1 or 2 on more popular squares. the rest on less known squares Make it an project for a limited period of time, maybe a few weeks Combine it with a contest to give Turin locals and international photographers the chance to show their view on Turin - Opening weekend: workshops and speeches of photographers - There will be a map so that tourists and locals can can make a tour of the igloos and explore new parts of the city -All this could have the effect of a special offer in the supermarket - you came for the bread, but in the end you trolley is full. -The same with photographers: They come for this special photography event and in the end they get to know the whole city If they are starting to spread the photos of Turin, a circle of attraction comes into play_ Circle of attraction The more street photographers come and make photos here to publish them online or offline, the more people will see it and want to make a photo trip to Turin, then they will spread their photos and the circle is going round and round Think like a Street Photographer when designing new spaces - light, beauty, safety and all-weather features Engage locals and visitors through art projects to enhance identification, also in a different way than usual like with the photo igloos This way Turin attracts street photographers from all over the world to share Turin's beauty and daily stories which will make more people want to visit the city...
Congratulations on being a dad I actually I know the feeling I have one daughter and another on gonna be coming soon😂 street photography with child does be different with children does be fun..main keynote make time for it
IMO, it's not just city marketing that benefits from giving a sense of location. Myabe, I am slowly mutating away from street photography into a travel photographer, but generic street photos that could have been taken anywhere become boring very quickly. I mean, how many silhoutes stepping and people stepping into lightpockets can we actually find interesting?
Congrats! I have been thinking the relation between travel and street photography lately. This was very good reminder to include someting that is unique to the place I am photographing when traveling.
Thank you so much Peter! Yes, that's definitely I forgot in some past travels, and I think there are more photographers who think they don´t wanna shoot postcard motifs if they are in a new location and totally miss to photograph the place itself....Hope you are well, cheers!

Just this morning, I was thinking about how I could combine travel photography with street shooting. This video resolves this issue for me.

Very smart idea. This is a great presentation and thanks for presenting the idea. Very smart for sure!
Thank you so much for your kind feedback Chris! Have a great week

Thank you! Well I think many of us , me included, are more a mix between type 1 and 2...props for keeping up photography so long!
Congratulations!
Here´s what my keynote in Turin was about exactly:
What is Street Photography?
Street photography is all about capturing candid moments in urban environments,
documenting non-staged, daily life situations and
finding beauty in the mundane.
One of the first famous street photographer is Henri Cartier Bresson who started his career in the 1930s in Paris.
My photography style: Non-Aggressive approach
No paparazzi style like Bruce Gilden, but waiting and composing
In my photography it’s all about light and mood, and the city itself as the main character
This photography genre is rising in popularity since digital cameras became popular about 15 years ago, also because street photography is trending on social media.
How Street Photographers influence the image of a city
Street Photographers transports the image and the essence of a city to the rest of the world
They are active in social media and publish photos in magazines and photo books
Attracts more visitors to the city and boosts the identification of the locals with their city
Lets talk about an idea I had while exploring Turin, maybe it is a bit unusual, but before let me tell you a few words about the personalities of street photographers
Basically there are 2 main kinds of Street Photographers:
The semi-professional Street Photographers
often have a huge social media following
between 20 and 40, male and female
They transport their message via social media and can help create a positive image of a city
How to attract these kind of Street Photographers? Direct invitation or a dedicated special Street Photography event or attraction, but I will come to that later
The hobby Street Photographer
Mostly between 40 and 70, predominantly male, well-educated and wealthy
Do not post in social media, but
Follows the recommendations of the „younger Street Photographers“ they found on social media
We need type number 1 to attract number 2.
Why is Turin the perfect playground for photographers
Grandiosity of architecture in the inner parts of Turin
Changing light throughout the day - first and last spot to visit on sunny days
Thousands of angles and perspectives
Real-life stories 24h
Arcades for photography at any weather, beautiful light spots, protection from rain.
Talking about rainy days: In the last days it was raining non-stop, but Turin is still an amazing place for street photographers. Let me show you why:
Reflecting your own view of Turin
-When you have seen one image of a person walking with an umbrella through the rain, you don’t have to shoot 50 more. It’s boring for the photographers and for the viewers…
-But: Photographing reflections is different - so many possibilities + angles that 2 photographers - even if they tried won’t get the same photo
-Turin is great for reflection photography to make complex, visually intriguing photos:
wide squares and streets for sufficient light even on cloudy days, beautiful old shopping windows and neon signs all over the the city
-So my idea was: Let’s build something to combine an element with a reflective surface to excite photographers and create a unusual space for photo exhibitions at the same time
The photo igloo
- Igloo-shaped object
hundreds of little mirrors on the outside as a treat for photographers
like a „Disco bowl cut in half“
-On the inside: exhibition space for photography
Lets built several of them, place 1 or 2 on more popular squares. the rest on less known squares
Make it an project for a limited period of time, maybe a few weeks
Combine it with a contest to give Turin locals and international photographers the chance to show their view on Turin
- Opening weekend: workshops and speeches of photographers
- There will be a map so that tourists and locals can can make a tour of the igloos and explore new parts of the city
-All this could have the effect of a special offer in the supermarket - you came for the bread, but in the end you trolley is full.
-The same with photographers: They come for this special photography event and in the end they get to know the whole city
If they are starting to spread the photos of Turin, a circle of attraction comes into play_
Circle of attraction
The more street photographers come and make photos here to publish them online or offline, the more people will see it and want to make a photo trip to Turin, then they will spread their photos and the circle is going round and round
Think like a Street Photographer when designing new spaces - light, beauty, safety and all-weather features
Engage locals and visitors through art projects to enhance identification, also in a different way than usual like with the photo igloos
This way Turin attracts street photographers from all over the world to share Turin's beauty and daily stories which will make more people want to visit the city...

Masel tov!
I've been doing this in the city where I live for a while now, no one's contacted me. At least not yet.
Maybe it would work to boost the photos through your website& instagram? If that doesn't help, what about contacting someone in charge directly?
@@streetphotographyguy I need to stop procrastinating and setup a website for my photography.
