    Beautiful car. I would have called the colour Primrose Yellow. Think Jaguar or MGB GT

    Wonderful car. I too used to adore these from child hood. Do you know if this car was owned at all by an owner residing in North London and prior to that I believe Northwest London, I believe Wembley, as this number plate looks very familiar to me?

    Great videos and interesting and beautiful cars on your channel Silent D. While I like your short format it would be great if you could tell us a bit more about the cars (like you did with your 2 door Volvo) and include a more in depth walk around the car before you start driving - like Jay Leno or Doug Demuro.

    Rolls-royce were not saying ADEQUATE. They were saying MORE THAN SUFFICIENT. Nice car.

    I'd have one but I need a gated drive first as ignorant people where I live would key it even though most cars around me cost more to buy and even run (tax free, classic insurance, independent rr servicing similar cost to BMW 3 series). This one is a real minter - probs close to double the value of a good example.

    They are much better than the modern Rolls, which feels cheap in comparison. I have a 1965 Cloud 3, and thought about a Phantom. The door handle was wobbly and it was just an over made up BMW with too many gimmicks.

    I wonder how that one’s driving feel compares to a modern rolls.
    Very pretty car, ai like the color. I also think the owner that put the top on it made a good call as the black goes well with the rest of the car.

      Sam Glorioso Agree on the top, it’s actually dark brown. Really makes the whole car 👌🏻 No idea how it compares to a modern RR as I never been in a modern one. But this ‘78 was more comfortable than most modern cars 😮

      The Silent D Motor Show you know a car is good when it’s almost 40 years old and still nicer than most modern cars 😂

      Folks didn't use silly low profile tires anywhere but the race track back then. Big difference in ride and real world (rough) road manners.

      The modern Rolls Royce doesn't feel like a Rolls Royce to drive. I did try a new Phantom but it didn't seem to have the build quality of my 1965 Silver Cloud III.

    Wonderful Silver Shadow II. I would consider the colour as 'primrose yellow'! - This is my video-answer with the last Rolls-Royce Bentley: the fabulous Continental R from 1995: ruclips.net/video/l0TTP4NNB0Y/видео.html

    British V8 pumped out 190HP, interesting fact, they use a GM Transmission

      Cruz R the torque figure of 413ftlbs is most impressive though, making it very effortless and smooth from idle. It's actually the same torque to weigh ratio as a new Bentley continental v8.

      Another interesting fact
      1) the front brake discs have 2 calipers per disk.
      2) the wheel bolts are clockwise threaded on the nearside of the car and anticlockwise threaded on the offside.
      3) the early MK1 shadows had a 4 speed auto box and a 6.2 litre V8.
      4) the rear suspension used a licensed by citreon self levelling system,that when the gearbox was in N self leveled twice as quickly as it did when in drive.

      @Fredrik Larsson No Citroen parts in this car.

    • @byteme9718
      @byteme9718 4 года назад

      @Fredrik Larsson Entirely exclusive to Rolls-Royce. The same with the camshaft driven pumps, pressure storage vessels, control blocks, actuators, height control valves, fast/slow levelling and even calipers that although similar to standard parts used by other cars were modified.

    • @byteme9718
      @byteme9718 4 года назад

      @Fredrik Larsson It's difficult to work out what the licence was for because even the technology was different. Unlike the Spirit the Shadow ended up with conventional coil spring suspension. As for storing hydraulic pressure in sealed gas charged accumulators this invention predated Citroen. There's often no logic with Rolls-Royce and I gave up trying to work this one out years ago.

      I think the ignition was off when the dash was filmed,when the car is being driven you can see the gauge showing a temp.

      @@Bryan-fg3ey very well observed. Given the car in question it's all but impossible to determine by ear whether or not the engine is running.

    That's a poor attempt at an Everflex roof. It's unlikely the headlining is leather.
