Cool to see the whole bleepinjeep crew together wheeling
It was great! I love hanging out with these guys!
@@natebleepinjeep9564 it was cool. looking forward to more of this in the future.
This is much more entertaining than all those journalists and RUclipsrs Jeep flew out there to drive the JL Rubicon. Fixing your old beater on the trail is half the fun.
tell jeep that😅
Agree. I saw a front axle on a Toyota get practically ripped off on the Rubicon. That’s not surprising given the trail. The impressive thing was that owner mended it with cables, ratchet straps, duct tape...you name it, and drove it out!
C'mon guys. My great great grandfather ran the Rubicon in a horse buggy, only one horsepower too! Had to re-shoe the horse tho
Great to see the whole crew together and the teamwork in action: "this trail's no joke" - welcome to California ! Making it with XJ's on only 33's is fabulous
Tim and Tyler will the crap out of there XJ! Very impressive maneuvers
Yes they well - come back late fall or winter and you guys would love to wheel in Death Valley
Awesome video. Man, that is a lot of rocky terrain. Props to all of you for not having more carnage. Price to get there and experience the Rubicon: Worth it. Getting to see Matt in $20 Walmart dragon pjs...definitely priceless!!
This is a great video. Having been across the Rubicon Trail many times it was good to see you guys having trouble in all the old familiar spots. As Lee Iacocca said in Rubicon Springs Camp when we initiated him to the trail, “This was a great day . . . and I have had a lot of great days”.
And of course there is always Mark Smith’s cuss word reserved for newbie CEOs and Europeans, “Geturgodamnfootofftheclutch”. We had buttons made with that word.
I went across that trail many times and always in stock Jeeps with stock tires, including 1 trip in a LWB Comanche. The TJ design was invented or proven on the Rubicon. But the oddest trip that I took was when we brought along a Geo Tracker. The only modification was a full belly pan added by the Jeep dealer in Reno. It made it but not before breaking one driver’s right thumb in 7 places. He said that he didn’t know that his thumb had “7 places”, but that was in Rubicon Springs after liberal amounts of Jack Daniels applied internally. We scrapped what was left of the Geo Tracker when we returned to Detroit.
Finally the hardest trip was after the merger with Chrysler when somebody had the bright idea of bring along some Dakotas. I was driving the V-8 version, the other two were V-6s, when the common failure occurred with the right, outer half shaft U-joint failing. This occurred before the Little Sluice. It was decided to tow it into Rubicon Springs where we could fix it. We towed it with a YJ that Mark Smith and I had rescued from the scrappers using a tow strap. We towed it up the Little Sluice, across Loon Lake, down the Big Sluice (where it broke a tie rod end, then got a flat tire and then lost that tire) and finally through the car wash where the tireless RF got hung up on a rock and even a winch would not budge it. It was finally heaved off the rock by the Herculean efforts of our biggest engineers.
Good times, I did the Rubicon Trail for the first time 5 weeks ago. Took my 2016 JKU with 3.5" Terflex lift & 35s'. Bent my tie rod, smashed the steering stabilizer shock, and re-shaped the front half of the fuel tank skid plate. Not to shabby.
Matt when you stomp around in the dust it reminded me of my friend from Ohio. He did the same thing on the trail; said we don't have dirt here just sand and dust 😂.
Great to see the ETXJC - East Texas Jeep Club Sticker. Several from the club made it there earlier this year. Congrats to all that have made it trough the Rubicon.
Those soccer mom station wagons on small tires do pretty well. Love XJ's.
Nate knows how to air-down, but his jeep sounds like a Kubota tractor with the TDI in it.
best offroad channel on youtube !!!!!!! XJ , TJ and rock crawlers
THE JACKASSES OF ROCK CRAWLING.........!!!!!! YOU GUYS ARE FUNNY AND FUN TO WATCH......!!!!
Went on that trail in 1966 in a Kaiser Jeep Universal CJ5, Buick V6, 3 speed, 4x4, 4:88 axles all stock. The Jeepers Jamboree did a good job feeding us. They still do it every year. Love that country which gets about 45 feet of snow each year.
I've been wanting to hit up the Jeepers Jamboree for quite a while now! One of these years I'll make it down there
Back when I was there in 1966, they let dune buggies and other vehicle types in. That's all changed to strictly 4x4's and custom stuff needs to be inspected prior to the event. A real tough trail from my view, wouldn't want to be four wheel'n that trail solo. We're an hour and a half from King of the Hammers in Barstow, CA. Now that's where things change from a trail going someplace at the end to, competition only. Thanks for the recording.
5:44 that's called blue tooth steering. They don't work very good yet. There's a few bugs to be worked out still.
Proof you don't need 1-ton axles, 40's or buggy builds to conquer the Rubicon. Outstanding!
yes, but unfortunately they filled in the hard spots with rip-rap a few years ago to smooth it out a little, yet it is still a hell of difficult trail
You’ve never needed one tons and 40’s. I didn’t see old sluice but I wouldn’t do it on 33’s either. 35/37 it’s really not a hard trail at all. If they do fordyce in those, their winches are gonna come out 20 times each.
@@MrMrsregor They fill in the hard spots every year for a big jeep event.
Who else but Matt.
I admire you guys. Best wishes
Great fun! Glad everyone got to experience the Rubicon. Good luck on Fordyce. Those running 33's will be pulling cable, stacking rocks and doing the by-passes. It's doable.
I definitely plan on coming back for Fordyce! Hopefully next year!
Thank you for the video guys. This trail is a hoot. Glad you had fun on it.
Excellent video guys
Vulnerable is how we feel too, it’s a long way to the tow rig.
Safety is paramount, I’ve seen a woman with a compound leg fracture get airlifted out from a call with a ham radio. It was impressive. 34 min from contact with dispatch to bird touching down at the spring. Hope it’s never me!
That sounds horrendous! That's definitely the kind of thing we all fear when we take these trips. I hope everything turned out okay for her!
Nice... A great group all together... Go BleepinJeep!
Very cool! Loved the vid, nice seeing a couple of rigs handle the trail with 33’s.
I really enjoyed your vid. The Rubicon is on my bucket list.
You all really put out some nice stuff. Beautiful footage and cool content. It was beautiful weather too.
Thank you! We couldn't have asked for better weather! No wind, no bugs and it didn't even get cold at night. It was a dream trip for sure... For everybody but Tim LOL
Yeah, remind me not to wheel with Tim. lol Poor guy!
So awesome your have Why J Dave in your video. I've wheeled with him before. Nice guy.
Great to see you guys enjoying one of our great trails. Fordyce gets pretty hardcore. Don't think the XJs on 33s would make all the way.
Driving through a shallow creek bed has been a dream of mine since the 90s when i was just a boy. yeeeeehooooooo. 12:54
That's the New Start of the trail 🤔 uall need to Start the Old School Starting Point at Georgetown pass by and stop at Uncle Tom's Cabin then make ur way to Wentworth Spring's THEN U AT Loon Lake !!! Much Better Cruzz 👍👍
23:58 My local Jeep club sticker! "Lowcountry Wranglers"
nice of you guys to help out your fellow jeepers in need. Getting back to camp at 545 sounds terrible! And i like how everyone stood around and watched the tire change hahah
Great vid! That’s my favorite trail...Fordyce is tough too. I don’t know why anyone would give this a thumbs down...the content captured what The Con is all about...
Man, I would have loved to join you guys if I knew you were here for this!!! Great run, only a few broken parts is a great run through the 'Con lol
Love the video. I'd love to try the Rubicon trail someday. Pretty cool to see you guys out and about
It’s good to see the gang back together!
Wow, he had a rough time, and the Treadwright tire, I love those tires, especially for the price. "did you do dragon stuff?"...lol
Tim has put a lot of miles on those tires! The Rubicon is pretty hard on vehicles and in the tires the fence it was aired on what you're not supposed to do. And yeah that was doing Dragon stuff LOL
Damn, that is some tough stuff, like a grayer, greener moab. I love Nates footage, the color just absolutely pops. Seriously makes me think about the XJs, they feel a heck of a lot more unstable than the Wranglers look. Seems like you guys had a lot of fun though, maybe I'll have to make it out there some time.
scorpion is super stable;)
Glad to hear you enjoyed the footage! We had a heck of a Time filming it! Tons of fun
My XJ is feels pretty unstable with its 6inch long-arm and no front sway bar but it takes quite a bit to get it to the tipping point since all the heavy stuff is lower. I don't have a gage yet and haven't until I change the setup so its more stable with the added weight. I don't get crazy without a cage either and I know I will go harder when I get one.
So cool to see the entire crew together.
Maybe next time Jeremy can make the trip?
Love the video!!!
Would be cool! Hes addicted to his work 😂
Great vid 👍and the Sierra dragon is bad ass🤣🤣🤣
Awesome! We are from SC and we did the Rubicon trail in June. You placed your sticker right next to ours. my club's sticker is the Lowcountry Wranglers one! We'll be out at windrock for the ride in October and can't wait.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Amazing footage, of a trail that is legendary, one thing I do before I go out 'trailing' as we call it, is buy a can of white lithium grease, and spray all the bushings, leaf spring ends, anywhere that moves/rubs, or shakes..because nothing gets it in there like during those moves, and hearing those squeaks and groans from some of the filming tells me why ;) also grease on your skid plates helps you slide past rocks. Catch them on sale at the big box store(read;menards) and it's only $1.99..besides, when you spray off the Jeep later on it leaves a nice lubricated finish under there..always a good idea! Our local stuff is only 1/10th of some of what that is though, and I too wonder why a autoparts place doesn't set up at the base, easy sales, and drone delivery! Yes am actually a Jeep owner, a pair of XJ's, a TJ, and a old CJ..and that's not counting my girls. Thanks for taking us along..although that end part..some things are better left unfilled on the trail, cold nights, dragon suits/small tents etc..!LOL
there is always help! There are Angels that live up there ,when they see you broken down they summons help!
That looks like such a blast.
Great adventure and misadventure :-) Good seeing you boys all together.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video! We all had a blast hanging out together and I think I speak for everyone when I say that we look forward to doing it again soon!
Oh yeah, that looks like fun! Nice video guys! All those short clips work with my short attention span!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the short clips! I was experimenting to see how people would like it!
This was fun to watch, as we just did it a few weeks ago. This reminds me I need to get through all of my GoPro footage!
Just a suggestion, next time you need to bend a tie rod or drag link, the clevis on a hitch works good or even a hitch ball and mount. Stab the part in and it can wedge in-between like a vice.
The 3 door Cherokee is awesome! Wish we got those in the UK!
This was awesome, and the dragon suit? Brilliant!
Matt's even funnier in person than he is on the bleepinjeep channel! His Antics had me rolling the whole time! These are a great bunch of guys
I'm recently familiar with this channel and love the content. Growing up in North Cali I'm very familiar with how beautiful it is up there, but the reality is that everything is way out and you can find yourself isolated really quick.. Glad you all had a good time and remained safe.. The wheelin may be a bit different than what you're used to but freedom is freedom am I right.. :)
Does a dragon crap in the woods? They do on the rubicon!😂
This trail was my first time rock crawling. I did it in my TJ with no lift on 31’s . It was epic.
I can see the Rubicon from my deck, been there many times, seen my fair share of rigs towed out. I do a lot of camping out there too. Auburn is know for its 4X4 shops, great place to be off road.
As usual from this channel......another amazing video
Thanks Eugene! Glad you enjoyed it!
wearing that dragon suit took guts. LOL
Looks like a bob Ross painting.that camp site!
Great video!
Thank you!
Time for a on Board welder ? Looks like that steering linkage could have macgyver’d together
Great video, best wheeling video in a while!
I am planning on running the Rubicon next year. I also have an XJ on 4.5" LA lift and 33's. Hoping to go the end of July.... Maybe I will see you guys on the trail!
Two Frogfab stickers on the box, yay!
Oh, nice video!
Thank you!
Awesome stuff one of the places on my wheeling bucket list.
Nice dragon suit, kept the mountain lions away, i heard they don't like dragon!
Lol new video idea... Mountain lions versus dragon!
Nice idk if you guys can handle Colorado lol hope you guys come out this way
Looks like you guys had lots of fun!!
If only I had friends like you guys. Damn! Good on all of you!
That diesel sounds so sexy!!
0:27 watching this in february in canada an seeing that ice thrown on the ground and then into the cooler gave my alot of impatience for summer
Got to love the dragon onesie.
Me and my son just built a ZJ like the one in cheap Jeep off your video would love to send you some pictures of it .he's 15 so this is his first vehicle.
nice shots
Thank you!
Nate's oil-burning TJ was unstoppable.
Cool seeing you wheeling on the west coast!
That was awesome guys 😊
Thanks! It was alot of fun
Awesome video
Thank you!
Awesome awesome video! I’ve been a long time fan of your channel sir. Thank you!
I grew up in tahoe and it’s a shame I never had a rig capable of making it to the rubicon. As of recent, finally had the time and money to build a moderate trail/overland jeep. I Started building in March 2018 and I just got done building a 98 TJ/4.0 with 4 inch RC lift (the entry level version no long arm kit) 33 inch BF KO2s, no sway disconnects yet, unfortunately stock D30 (stock) and D35 (Dana 35chromolly shafts), 5 speed and 4.56 gear, RC “beefy” tie rod and track bar,I also installed front and rear Detroit trutracs, rock sliders, oil pan shield, steel diff covers, steering box shield and a winch.
Does my rough county upgrades sound like I’ve been watching your channel way too much??!! Lol hehehe thanks for all that y’all do and how-to-videos!
You think I’ll make it out of the Rubicon?! lol
(With stock axles and truetracs)?
I build almost week after week since March of 2018 but I’m never sure when if I’m ready!
Man I even installed entire Air conditioning system from
jeepair.com.
Onboard 3.5gal water (from waterport),
Cheap but capable portable air comprssor tsunami MF1040 (pep boys)
I know it’s crazy! Lol But my justification is overlanding during the summer.
As far as the Rubicon.....will I make it with my setup??
What am I missing other than actually getting the courage just to do it? Lol
Thank you!
Take a winch and a buddy... you'll make it.
BleepinJeep thank you! Will do.
Lol poor Tim riddled with the bad luck
Your videos are always very cool
awesome trip, the dragon, too funny!
Very cool video. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun also. I always see videos and there are like 5 thumbs down out of like 2K, I always wonder what the hell did they not like!
We wonder the same. If people truly dislike something it's nice if they leave a comment explaining what their beef if about. 99% of the time that doesn't happen so who knows!
Brings back fond memories
I need to get out there!
The rubicon looks amazing ! I can’t wait to travel all the way from Washington to hit it.
I have a tool build request. Belt grinders are SUPER expensive. Could one of you guys do a fabricator's belt/ disc grinder build for tube work, maybe 6" wide? (Not one of the 2x72" that guys use for knife making) You could use a dc treadmill motor for the power plant. Could be a really awesome home built tool!
Welcome to Cali guy man I wish I knew you guys were coming out this way I watch all your videos love them I would have met you guys up there
A few of us are going down to King of the Hammers this year. Get a hold of me on Instagram if you want to roll with us
Congratulations from far away (east) Tennessee; hope to go there in 2020!
Not all that remote, only 12 miles long, but tough miles with those boulders in the way. Could bring a bicycle to go for supplies. Hard to understand why all the Donner Party didn't just snowshoe out. Most did walk out, with several relief parties. A little dynamite would make the trail much easier, but not the goal. Indeed, I've heard they added some boulders to make it more challenging. There are bypasses for the tougher sections, if you find your rig isn't setup for them.
Matt is awesome great videos
Cool pants Tyler.
Welcome to California!!!
Rad video!!!!
Thank you! We had a lot of fun filming it
I have done the Rubi at least a couple dozen times. Over size tires broke axlels twice. stock tires will get you through the rubicon as sure as you watch yur wheel placement and follow yur spotter
Oh, wow!
Yay Tyler!
Great video, I really enjoyed it. Always amazes me to see some thumbs down, can't believe someone didn't like it.
Thank you very much! We love the support
Oh damn, that dragon suit, lmao!!
Fresh Dr.Pepper is right as rain! lol
NO WAY, had the exact same thing happen to my y link steering too, mine was a small fracture maybe from the heat treatment.
ive only been once so far but now im only 2 hours away so it will be my home trails from now on.
Nice Houston hoodie Matt
Matt, you should build an AMC Eagle with a Cummins R2.8 or 4bt
I do carry a spare crank position sensor 👍
