    UPS has turned off its comments on their "SIMPLE AND EASY- How to file a claim" video. It is neither simple nor easy. In fact the online claims form didn't even work. Error messages after I filled out the form. Total incompetence at every level of the organization - in my experience.

      Don't mean to get political here but just want to make sure people know this was from Trump's Post Master pick Louis DeJoy who deliberately kneecapped the post office to hinder vote by mail in 2020. It's only gotten worse since then.

    USPS lost my package.. can see maybe losing a small one but this was a big package..which makes me wonder if it was stolen. It was scanned 2 days after the delivery date and has been stuck "in transit" ever since.. I spent $200 on the package.. Is it possible to get the full amount back? I am the recipient..

      Any updates on how your case went? I spent a lot of money on a very important package and sold something else important me to get it, and now it’s just completely lost. Hoping there’s some way I could get compensated fairly

      @@ianmoone1138 i have an update for my case. I did a claim because what was lost was a package well over $600 and I claimed a refund for $350 but only got $106

      @@ianmoone1138 I got my package about a week later. If I hadn't called my post office for them to track it down I know I would've never gotten it!

    This happened to me today! Ordered a package from a Chinese manufacturer for a couple of network converters tracked them and package disappeared in the US. And of course USPS didn't know anything about it even after I've given them the tracking number. Took me forever to put in the claim! And yes keep all documents and take pictures of everything you put into USPS website. Thanks for the video!

    ok now this sucks if you are not selling anything, the items were sent from my family to me. and the item is vintage and could not find another item like it for sale. and as for my elderly parents to have them file the claim would have taken months just to first teach them how to use their phone to take a photo of the stuff, or to send it in the mail. or to go onto the computer to file a claim. The very thought of it is mentally draining, mainly because they are easily distracted, and keep them focused and stop getting off-topic as they chatter among themselves. It makes it hard to file a claim if it's from person to person and not business to person. then formatting the photo into JPEG. it took half a day to gather the insurance information from them. which was mentally tiresome but if my determination to get my money back after the mailman tossed a fragile box onto the porch. glass items that are worth over $120

    Every time I try to make a claim...I enter ALL the info. Get to the "submit" button and get the error message "There was a problem submitting your Service Request. Please try again later.". I've tried different web browsers and my cell phone with the same results. So frustrating!

    I was a buyer on Depop and have to file a claim and do not have the senders address for this form. The seller ignores me and Depop just keeps telling me to file a claim. Please help

    I'm dealing with a lost care package for an overseas military member, it totally sucks to say the least. Since the package was actually lost in CA it never made it to the plane to fly overseas. I've made lots of phone calls and went to their website for direction about how I should file a claim and been given conflicting information. The problem is it was technically suppose to be an international package, but it never left American soil (that's where usps employees have given conflicting info. on how to file: Domestic vs. International). Then all the receipts for 18 items that I purchases over months and months, of which I don't have the majority of, so I'll never be able to prove the insurance claim. It's a no win situation and it's extremely disheartening. It sucks they couldn't just get their job done, so now I have to spend months jumping through hoops. It just makes a bad situation worse.

    I sent a package a little over 6k an i used priority insured up to 5k. The tracking hasnt moved in 1.5 weeks. My question is when i refund buyer will ebay cover all the fees also how difficult will it be for me to file a claim for the 5k with usps, an which should i do first. Becuase i dont want to refund then it shows up an buyer reccives both. Any help will be appreciated thank you

    My package has to ship internationally but its still stuck in "Moving in Transit" on USPS and I can't open an account because I can't enter an adress outside of US. I tried to reach out for them but they auto replied telling me to check out FAQ's, I don't know what to do.

    What about the ebay fees & USPS shipping label cost? If you only claim what the buyer paid & you're refunding all of that to them, wouldn't you also request the label cost & EB fees ?

    I think USPS should refund any package they lose. I am going through this right now, but it is a first class package. So what is my recourse. It appears there is none.

      Unfortunately, if you sent something first class, there's really nothing you can do.

    My package got lost before the tracking got updated / its stuck on "Awaiting Item." Thus, my local post office says I'm not eligible file a claim, only a "case" yet won't show me how to file a case. My postal carrier took the package and gave me a confirmation receipt for it. The local clerk says that has no bearing. They have no record of having the package. What do I do now?

      @@jasonmhayes And an update. Something I did pushed the item forward. Tracking is now showing, package is now moving thru hubs. It mysteriously jumped from Awaiting to being in a Dallas hub. Hmmm.

    Hey Jason I’m currently in a pickle where the USPS printed out 2 labels for my packages and switched them so now I have a return request from a customer who has proven with photos they have the item yet now when I approved the return and messaged multiple times to this buyer I’ve received no response. I’ve also called Ebay reps and they basically told me they can’t help me. Can I submit a domestic claim to the USPS for this because the post office is responsible for the mixup? I’ve sold almost 100 items and this is the first time this has happened to me. I’d appreciate any help thanks.

    Hi, did you end up getting this package back? Whats crazy to me is that they processed a return to sender but at this point you should've received it back by now.

      ugh, wish me luck. I just bought something from ebay and my mailman def did not deliver to my house. I saw it n my camera. I have to wait 1-3 days to get an update.

    I always refund the buyer first! Also if I see that it’s available for pickup I send a short email to buyer saying they may need to pick it up. Horrible USPS system doesn’t let u add more pictures to ur claim
    If u need to! Ridiculous. They denied my first claim for only $20 cuz they said they wanted a receipt with my name on it as the seller. Long story short it took them 4 months to send me a check! Thank God it was a small amount. USPS are horrible to deal with!!!!

      Sorry you’ve had a horrible experience with usps regarding your claim. I like your suggestion though to send a message to the buyer asking them to pick it up.

      @@jasonmhayes yeah, that way they can’t complain they weren’t told and eBay can see the email trail that you told them. Some customers have small post offices and they actually have to go pick it up. Happened several times.

      Yep and they only get worse every year!!. They hire the wrong people and it shows!!.. I caught my usps mail driver smoking a blunt on the clock delivering mail a few Months ago.. they just don't care anymore..

    I'm in the exact same boat! But my Post Office said, I had to wait 60 days to file a claim. And now Im having big issues. Bc its not letting me file online 😭

    I’m so stressed right now. Since you’ve submitted half a dozen claims. How likely do you think I’ll get reimbursed for more than $100? with no insurance, just all the EBay proof.

      Burgosbrand, I've been reimbursed for 100% of the items that USPS legit lost. But, the caveat is they only pay up to $100 for items shipped either Priority Mail or Ground Advantage, if no additional insurance was paid for. By submitting the ebay proof of the sale you'll get back up to $100 for the sale plus any shipping that you paid for. Thats it

      USPS refunds up to the $100 so thats all that I received on this from USPS. It's been my experience that they pay out really fast on lost packages that are insured. :)

    Thank you for sharing this information. I'm going through the same thing. I shipped out a package containing an HP Slim PC with keyboard and mouse combo on 4/18. It hit Las Vegas and then no movement after that. It's been 18 days now. I called USPS and got a useless service request number that was closed with no update, no positive outcome. I opened a 2nd request that ended the same way. Today I filed a missing package request but I should have just filed a claim instead which after watching this video I will be doing. Thankfully the buyer is taking it well. I'm more pissed off then he is. What I don't like is that Ebay won't release the sale funds to me but will still be taking the $90 out of my bank account and leave it up to me to get the refund from USPS. Oh well, I just hope I get a timely claims check from USPS. Has lost packages gotten worse with USPS since all of the "new" things being implemented at USPS?       You're more than likely going to have to refund the customer on the selling platform first, then you'll hopefully get the check in the mail made out to you to compensate for the refund issued. Make sense?

    hello @Jason Hayes Iam in big problem I have ordered product on ebay . ebay show USPS delievered but I have not recieve yet I ordered on 21 st august I said ebay to refund my money but they said we have deleiverd , I claim to USPS as you tell in your video but my request is under review stil how much USPS take time to reply what I have to do please help me , My order payment is183$ . what I have to do ??

      So sorry to hear this. Open a claim on ebay for the item stating you did not receive. Ebay should refund you.

    You can't even see the mailers address if you are the buyer. You can't even file a claim.

      Sorry to hear that. Lost packages are a part of the biz. Fortunately, it doesn't happen often at all AND USPS shoud refund you for it. I'm going through this again atm.

    Why are you waiting to get reimbursed by USPS before giving the buyer his money back? You're going to have to reimburse the buyer regardless on what the outcome is with USPS. Good seller practice is to quickly reimburse the buyer and not have him wait for a decision from USPS, that's just common sense.

    Bc it doesn't show you issues ppl have. Typing "file lost package claim" into Google and clicking on the links in the USPS website is common sense. But what about issues on NO TRACKING INFO updating.

    I don’t get how my packages never got dropped off. I dropped off six and four of them are now missing. I don’t get it. I don’t know what’s going on. I went to the post office and asked, and all the lady told me was that they sent out items everyday, she didnt care to want to help me and i even had to ask if it just didn’t get scanned all she did was shrug and give me the same answe, wtfff🙄
