How to program Toyota Hilux transponder chip

Toyota models this apparently works for.

Transponder chip programming do it yourself
1. Put Original master key in and out of ignition 4 times. Finish with key in ignition on the 5th turn, don't take it out.
2. Open and shut door 6 times
3. Remove original, insert new key
4. Leave for 60 seconds (or till Security light goes out on dashboard)
5. After 60seconds security light stops flashing then you can start car.
6. Take key out
7. Open and shut door
Please note, I took the existing circuit board out (this allows you to lock and unlock doors remotely) from the old key.

That programs transponder to Hilux I've read same procedure elsewhere, but do the lock/unlock buttons function properly after procedure please?

jaybajan you can buy them off ebay. Just check what model.

Lies! I tried this 10 times on my 2010 Toyota Corolla and nothing. You still need to take your car to the dealership and have them program your key.
