Literally was obsessed with The HTTYD soundtrack in high school. Happened across this then. Here I am 7 years later and here just for that freaking beautiful bagpipe entrance. This is by far the best
It's definitely one hell of an entrance
2 amazing things combined:
1. How to train your Dragon
2. Scotland
Somewhere in that audience, there was me! I was in a seat facing the projected images, so my family and I had a very good view. Nice memories this brings back...
The music lends itself to the tattoo so well, I would never have thought it until I saw it. I adore this music, and I'm so happy it gets recognised and used despite being a soundtrack :D
2:57 *cries*
The emotions felt as a full blooded Celt at 2:55 are indescribable. Cymru am byth!
This honestly gave me chills.. the memories no one will get this but dad i am so freaking proud :^)
Was your Dad performing in the one of the bands?
No, but he probably died from a Night Fury's fire blast.
Hello this is zoe from another account, since I couldn’t log back into this one. My dad was In the U.K. Air Force and served for 16 years. He was Scottish and we both loved how to train you’re dragon a lot! He passed away in 2013 and this video reminded me a lot of him.
Hahaha night fury blast XD
The pipes and drums returning, everything about it from the lighting to the start of the pipes to the many different uniforms, just adds to the feeling of triumph. truly a magical moment
I googled HTTYD bagpipes thinking it can’t possibly exist. 2:57 went a long way into completing my life.
I just had to listen to the original because after listening to this, I was thinking "There's no way this wasn't originally bagpipes" it should have been.

@@SR71_Blackbird There are Bagpipes in the original, there are analyzes of the score where it's pointed out.
There are bagpipes in httyd soundtracks
I remember when I Saw this Live, When the Pipes and Drums Marched on again, it Sent Shiver's Down my Back
Damn you gentlemen you made a grown man cry... and in his office too 😭
Goosebumps seriously! I love the soundtrack to the movie and i love watching the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. AMAZING!
How not to love bagpipes, if even a soundtrack from an animation movie sounds so.................. magical.
This was one of my favorite movies growing up but now I play the pipes… I think I know what I’m playing next
Spinetingling, awesome, amazing, only WE can pull off thid kind of thing, makes me so proud of my heritage.
This has to be the best I've ever seen this played live!
You hear the bagpipes begin the sound the bagpipes before the first note of them oh I get chills
Words cannot describe just how wonderful this is...
Música é algo universal. Tantas etnias juntas para fazer um espetáculo maravilhoso e mágico.
This was beautiful to watch
Every soldier, sailor, airman, marine (regardless of country) HATES standing in formations for shows....10000000% everyone of these guys and gals were hella digging it this time. This would be such a bucketlist item for me!
I was so so so hoping they were there to add a choral backing 😂
Being there was just magic in physical form
So happy I found this, HTTYD is quite xlose to my heart!
So beautiful, im nearly crying :`(
Just watched this (front row seats). and when they played HTTYD ... wow
This is beyond awesomeness! Love it with all my heart!
awwww, i want to be pony major.
i love how to train your dragon this music is a master peice
Very well done! I wonder why they changed a few notes from Test Drive, is that because the pipes don't go down that low?
I love it! I wish i was there.
Cold asf
This should be the anthem of ceremonies in the Scottish republic. 🏴
3:33 I'm crying
This is just perfect
This is so great!
una maravilla deleiterse con estos temas gracias..!!
@Nightrbinger24 Yes, it was my first think
Love the ending
Words are inadequate, this is simply spellbinding
Very nice well done.
Awesome loved it
Incredible!!! :0
Why didn't they sync the video with the music?
@c0ronariu5 The bagpipes miss out notes from a traditional musical scale too.
Scotland baby
@Nightrbinger24 Yea i know..though i cant really seem to hear the similarity..i live in denmark so we get free norse classes in middle school and i dont seem to hear it..maybe its just cuz of the accent the celtic people have.
@c0ronariu5 probably...an entire orchestra has a different notes extension
Oh God.
Oh thor
@@davidnicolson6443 O din
Is there an uncommented version?
@Nightrbinger24 In specific do you mean Old Norse or New Age? cuz new age scandinavian sounds nothing like Gaelic.
Anyone know where I can find this video without the foreign voice over..
jayfitzy that’s no foreign son. That’s Gaelic. Been in Scotland far longer than English
@@josephharper9024 I that it has my grandfather could not speak English until he was 5 and that was in 1940
Bagpipes only have nine notes and no sharps or flats.
Gary Anderson not if they're playing b flat chanters.
@@the180crew or cross fingering :)
I wish the guy would stop talking...
Awesome performance, shitty camera work. There are waaay better amateur videos of this than what the BBC showed.
