Ridiculous. Watering down the truth is a form of dishonesty.
"Driver being followed by LAPD." There will be people who read this headline and think that police made the "driver" nervous and, as a result, they crashed. They were a suspect, not a "driver." Innocent drivers aren't inferior to hit-and-run suspects. Their legal innocence means they're superior. It's jaw-dropping that there are people who want suspects to have free reign to crash into innocent drivers, which could kill them, by blaming police for the crashes.

It sounded like they were trying to take some blame off of the police by changing the framing and using the word "following". If you're gonna report on something , it's important to call a spade a spade. There should be no thoughts of "We think it's better if they perceive it this other way"

The end is violent? Yes, because the suspect is fleeing police, not because they're being pursued. Even if a police car weren't behind them, they would still try to get away. They would still drive fast. If they're a kidnapping suspect, they absolutely need to be pursued. They could also flee and become a kidnapping suspect. It's mind-blowing that anyone would suggest that police shouldn't pursue fleeing suspects, unless they want the suspects to get away and not be caught, or crash. Being able to arrest requires pursuing them. If they get away and they're caught, they were pursued.
Wrong. Police chasing kills. A lot. And innocent people. Police ego kills. Mkay? They don't go crazy speeds when not being chased. Mkay?

Drones with live-view eyewear are the answer... stolen cars will see police cars and helicopters pursuing them but NOT drones... helicopters always loose contact when stolen vehicles pull into multi-layer parking structures... drones can follow them ANYWHERE

The police need to stop this. Stop chasing thieves. We are experiencing a high crime era in Los Angeles. Pursuing each individual suspect does not ensure the safe of innocent citizens.
