  • If you love armor in the 15th century, you must love the sallet! An evolution of the 14th-century bascinet, this helmet is more refined, sleek, and stylish, while still providing a decent amount of protection. From knights to men-at-arms, this fantastic helmet was donned as they marched to war. This style of sallet was often accompanied by a bevor, a piece of neck protection that can be used in a variety of different ways to work with the sallet and keep your neck safe. This listing is for a set of both the helmet and the bevor, which will completely cover you for neck and head protection and make you battle-ready.

Great video. But is this historically accurate where the entire bevor section completely folds back above the helmet? What percentage of designs historically used that feature if any?

Yes this design is historical, and the helmet is a mounted combat helmet

Dose this count being a closehelm sallet hybrid?

I know this is fairly old but yes I believe, were it a historical helmet, we would consider it a close helm (by modern categorization) but one designed to look like a sallet. There are examples of similar "combos" historically as well I believe although I am not personally familiar with any of this specific type.
