It was less him sleeping with her of his own volition and more her getting him drunk enough to sleep with her so she can blackmail him to get what she wanted.
It's still his fault for even entertaining the idea and not flat out telling her to leave him but I'd say in this case they're both at fault.
Their doctors. Their job is to heal people, they don't really care what kind of person you are.
Yes, that's what troubled me about this ep. She admits to sleeping with her dad, photographer, tutor, but the police aren't called on any of them. She says, I got him drunk, but unless she gave him a roofie, he shouldn't have been chugging it down around his kid.

for people wondering why the dad wasn't arrested, the social services were called but the victim didn't want to press charges and denied it happened (the dad only admitted it to House) so they had no way to arrest him
He was also pressured by house to admit to this & house wouldn't take no for an answer.
House however had good reason not to report it as 1. He needed more information from him. 2. He may have realized it was a false confession to get house off his back.

You don't have to fight in a war to get PTSD. I worked at a gas station that had an explosion. Blew the guy up in the air and burned him severely. While his friends screamed and ran around in the parking lot, I covered him with my hoodie and held him in the rain until he breathed his last breath😔

I know multiple people who have PTSD from being involved in bad car accidents, even.
Most people who have PTSD rarely tell the bad details with such description because it's traumatic... The fact that the episode is not even focused on PTSD makes this comment that much more questionable.

Ex Fashion Designer student here. It's a good concept, it have been done if I can recall maybe one time, only than less physical, one model bumped into another. It caught people attention, though it was in the nineties, something like that. Problem was that when one of the models explained in an interview, it was an act. Almost nobody believed her, nor cared. The reason is simple, most people usually stuck only with what you're showing to them and nothing else. If you later add more information or explanations, they probably gonna be esceptical or disinterested because what sounds more interesting? Two models having a small fight on the catwalk or two models admitting their small fight on the catwalk was staged?
This episode was always crazy, especially with the whole Daddy/Daughter thing.

Officially this is a pretty rare condition, but since we only discover it by very specific tests its likely to be a lot more common than statistics suggest.
Wouldn't that mean there's a lot more "women" out there who can't figure out why they can't get pregnant? You'd think that might come up at some point.
Actually 1 in 10,000 babies are born intersex so it’s much more common than you would think. The signs can be really minor though and barely show so that’s a big reason they go unnoticed

There's a variety of chromosomal and androgen-insensitivity conditions that result in fertility problems, by which time the patient has likely already spent their entire life under the impression that they're just plain ol' normal women. Finding out not only are you not likely to ever have children but your entire life has been some level of fiction can be tremendously upsetting. However, that's only something you find out if you can actually afford to try and find out the cause of your problems.

Ooh! I remember this episode, and I just had to look up the patient’s condition (Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome) after reading some of the comments by people who seemed confused about what this means in regards to gender identity.
I read that the vast majority of people with CAIS identify as women - as this patient does. However, one study from 2010 had the first case of “male gender identity in a CAIS individual raised female”.
Poor guy had a lot of issues with treatment, as testosterone had little effect on his body due to the androgen receptor mutation, though he did get a successful mastectomy and phalloplasty, and the study notes he was continuing treatment according to “the Standards of Care by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health”.
I do hope things worked out for him, and for any other people with CAIS who feel the same way.

Not surprising, I've always assumed that gender identity has a lot to do with hormone levels throughout childhood (though not everything). For example, my sister is trans but before she even started HRT her testosterone levels were way lower than they should have been. The study showing CAIS patients overwhelmingly identify as women would seem to back this up. Though the fact at least one does not might mean it isn't necessarily the decisive factor. My sister would be the first to tell you that HRT has effects on the brain and its functioning.

And yet that same daughter admits in this episode that she seduced her own father in order to have a way to manipulate him into giving her what she wanted whenever she wanted. You might call her a victim, but she isn't. She's playing their game. And that's how women like this operate isn't it? She's an attractive model, so she plays the victim card when it helps her get her own way. A good percentage of women do this. But we really don't want to talk about that do we? It doesn't fit with the "women as victim" narrative we're pushing.

Kaitlyn Jenner was named "Woman of the Year" immediately after transitioning. Never had a period, and is by all intents and purposes still really a man, because transitioning doesn't change your genes and gender/sex is genetic. So yes, "the ultimate woman is a man" sounds pretty accurate.😏

My highschool project supervisor mentioned such a case in his hospital. A couple came to the hospital because of infertility. They found out that his wife has male DNA and sterile. First they don't want to mentioned it because the guy was working as an Imam in small village and his&her reputation was at stake. They were trying to convince them to adopt a child. But of course cat ran out of the bag and it was a huge disaster for the both. He lost his job , he divorced his wife, both had to leave their village..etc. Now I am thinking they might even killed the woman , whether husband or her family, idk.
That's why they use to keep such information secret. Still can mess with your mind if you learned the truth 😊

this episode was unbelievably creepy. the way they talked about this 15YO GIRL and zeroed in on her breasts and attractiveness made me so very uncomfortable. and did they ever report the dad? oh n don’t get me started on the instant pronoun switch as soon as they found out she was genetically a male. edit: i posted this a year ago but there r is still a lot of misunderstanding in the replies which I suddenly felt compelled to clear up. yes, the whole ‘pronoun thing’ was not as prominent a conversation when this show was aired, i can assure you i am aware!! but I am barely referring to that😭 up until this point, this character grew up as a biological female, and was adequately socialised n treated as a girl. finding out there’s a tweak in the chromosomes doesn’t change that fact. like it’s not a pronoun thing it’s just obvious. the girl isn’t even trans!! she was literally assigned female at birth, even if that wasn’t completely correct genetically. suddenly calling her a boy is just petty at that point like bffr.
and yes, ive watched my fair share of the show, i know the crux of house’s character is being an asshole, but that doesn’t mean he was written well. like at at all. blunt and unsociable assholes can make for great and interesting characters, but unfortunately the writers relied on cheap bigotry as a crutch for house because that is simply easier. like even for the time, his racism particularly was a lot. it was just lazy writing but it’s whatever yk it doesn’t matter that much. bad shows exist. we can watch, discuss n then we move on

You seem to forget that this episode aired 20 years ago. Things were different then. Genetically Alex is a boy with hermaphroditsm, that shows no signs of male sex. And even today.. People who identify as a different sex than they are born with, have to go to psychiatrists and other doctors to get their condition proven.
