you can use them but it wont fix the issue - the size / shape relates to the watts...the ability to disipate heat . the thing you are worried about is the resistance....
Hello, does anyone know the easiest way to run a cable from the engine bay to the rear tailgate on a discovery 3 for some LED amber flashing lights? Cheers
I have the Discovery 4 2013 and the lights your fitting are the same ones on my car. Problem i have is, 2 of my LED bulbs offside top rite have went out. I went to Halfords for the bulbs, they typed in my registration and told me they don't stock them! Told me to goto the car parts shop down the street..... Car part shop typed in my registration, told me LED lights don't fail! they haven't heard of this happening before and they think it's a sealed unit and advised me to take the car to the dealers and that I might need to buy a whole new back light unit!!! WTF? I can't find any videos on changing these LED bulbs. I keep finding videos on how to do everything else but nobody is talking about LED cluster bulb changes. Do I need a new unit? Or are these LED lights like HENS TEETH or something?
So LED's do fail - just not very often so that is why many lamp makers now make them non replaceable. Another reason is that the LED often form a large array that would be physically difficult to change do to the size of the array. The Range Rover L322 has replacable LED arrays and Land Rover sell the spare array so you can change these. The Disco 4 rear lights only have replacable fog and reverse bulbs so not good news ! One thing you can do to check the problem is not the car wiring etc is to swap the LH lamp with the RH lamp - now of course they will not fit but you can rest them on the tailgate and test the functions. If the fault follows the lamp then you need a new lamp. If the fault stays on the same side of the car then its a car wiring issue. If you do need to change why not upgrade to the new black type LED rear lights ?
powerfulukltd Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I've seen you changing the tail lights on the LR3 & fitting the LR4 Black lights onto your LR3. You have a resistor fitted but, I wouldn't need this would I? Is it just plug and play on all LR4's for the latest style black lights? The car won't be getting used for 16 days from the 10th September and while it's Sat there I've been thinking on upgrading the tail lights and headlights. Headlights look a bit more tricky than just a straight swap. I'd mess it up lol. I'd have disco inferno!! Unsure if I'd need to swap the grill and bumper and have the gadgets and apps for the xenon upgrade.
Hi for the rear lights as you already have the LED type there is no need to change to the resistor type - just the black LED version with no resistors. For the front our easy facelift kit will be available soon - new lights / grille and filler strip and its all done. No need to remove bumper or do any paintwork. See below video ruclips.net/video/K4yelHi_2Qg/видео.html
Can I confirm before I order these for my LRD4 that the resistor to resolve the indicator signal error will already be fitted to the lights? Or do I need to order the res separately and fit myself?
We do not sell the registered ones at the moment but have a new loom coming out that will simply plug between the D4 light and your D3 and make everything work Simon
big thanks!
please show us how to remove the front light as well,
that would be great
Just got a 2006 lr3 here in the US, do these work on US spec lr3's?
how many w of resistor can fit the 2014 smokey light?
Is it the same for the headlamps?
Amazing.. Do you think the new 2014 smoked lights from land rover will fit on the lr3?
yes - they fit straight in - follow this video. We also have them for sale on our website with resistors pre-fitted
the grid discovery 4 picks in 3 ????
Can you upgrade headlights to LR4.....talk about this or make a video about it
I have 50w 6ohm resistors look exactly like in the video.
Can I use them???

amazing
the dashboard computer will show fault light after upgraded?
No should be fine - only problem will be the indicators flashing fast - but this can be fixed with the resistor.
@@L663 hey there, can you tell me the amount of wats and ohms for this resistors? thanks!!
@@cezarycezary4180 Hi sorry for slow reply - been in China for a week and they banned RUclips so cant respond - Resistor is 15 Ohm 25Watt
@@L663 thanks you very much

go low.... under the car .. along the chassis.. up behind the rear lights ?
Does it affect anything if u dont put the resistor on
The indicators will flash fast on early models... give it a go... you may be lucky ! but you will not break anything.

@@L663 i am looking to buy these lights for my Current D4 not a D3.....would this still be an issue?
@@craighogg5472 Sorry did not read your message correctly - you do not need resistors for fitting the later lights in a D4
@@simonjefferson that's brilliant news. I've got a 2012 D4 so had hoped those lights would plug straight in :) thanks very much
this resistor is mounted on both lamps
Correct - yes you need to mount a resistor on each of the rear lamps
Hello, do you have a link to the picture of how you glued the wire
