Same...thanks for informing us Jo 🙏
Thank you for the information 💕
Born in India, raised in Oman, few years in India and back in UAE. Not sure which I can call home. I try to make wherever I live feel like home now. I can never forget the broken hearted girl I was..crying while exiting the country I called home after my family visa expired. You're right, only the ones in Middle East can understand and relate.
All will be great 🤝
I think I am the only one here with the different perspective... I am an Tamilian and moved to Oman after my marriage. Those 4.5years had been an absolute heaven. I had more friends, learnt what independence really means after being in a joint family where you can't even go to a nearby shop without informing your family members. Enjoyed my life with my child and husband, travelled alot and was absolutely devastated to know that we had to come back to the same old bubble. Its been 2 years now and I just can't stop thinking about how much fun i had in muscat and just can't wait to go back to middle east. I don't mind which city its gonna be but I just wanna run away. Pls bless me☺
It’s not the place, it’s the people we live with
I'm with you!
I bless you
I moved from Mumbai to Dubai just 3 months ago. Missing India very badly. Agree India has its problems, but it is still the best and it is where my heart will always be.
Once u reach one year of living in Gulf u will not go back to India.
Soon ul like it here.... stick.around ... Dubai is a lil like Amchi Mumbai

more on description!
❤️❤️
I'm Bengali and born and raised in the UK and never left... The UK unfortunately has never felt like my home. I 100% can relate, and I also felt so much more at home in Bangladesh, India and Nepal even though my Bengali isn't great just simply because you understand people and felt understood.
not Indian or Middle Eastern but I've been following you for years for how relatable you are (and great tutorials) - but this one takes the cake! I was raised by Polish grandparents (very extremely Polish upbringing....but 60y behind so never quite Polish enough for Poland, but not American enough for Americans), and then lived in California but ages 11-13ish lived in St Lucia (Caribbean), then went back to California, then off to Norway, then East Coast USA (which might as well be a different country culturally I found out), then back to California.....never quite fit in anywhere as a "third culture kid" as they're saying these days, but finding roots somewhere is so refreshing.
This make up needs to be part of the change of your earlier make up few years ago. This is so sophisticated, so pro!
Hi Jovita! I used to live in Kuwait until 2005, and then moved back home to Goa. I relate so HARD with all your points, especially the Diaspora issues. As a former Gulfie kid, the whole "neither here nor there" especially when conversing in my mother tongue becomes quite prevalent. 🤣
Goekar spotted
Hi Jovi.... Loved your video, I too was a gulf Malayalaee... Came back to India along with my parents and settled down in Kerala 😁... It was like learning everything from scratch how Kerala works, how to get things done, taxes 😂.... Etc etc... But I love it here now.. support system is fantastic, healthy living and best of all not being treated as second citizens and freedom here ❤️❤️❤️.... Love you 💗 and your videos ... It's so much fun... 🥳
Jovita your video was truly on point. After having lived in the US for nearly three decades, I was apprehensive when we had to move to India, but it was unfounded. I made wonderful friends, traveled, had house help, felt like I belonged. What can I say about the food, the jewelry, the clothes- it was magnificent. I was happy never to have to wear jeans again. My life in the US was hectic, I felt isolated, I resented being told to “ do what makes you happy” if I ever asked for an opinion or just needed clarification. I also felt like many other first generation immigrants that I truly did not belong despite being educated there, having a successful career and all the other trappings. Our stint in India is over and we are back in the US but boy do I miss waking up to tea served in bed, piping hot samosas, friends who dropped by, disasters at the hair salon, chaotic traffic, the song of the birds, the colors around me, the festivals, the markets, the warmth of people, the feeling of belonging.
I wish you great success in your new home- may you find love, happiness, good health and contentment.
Well said 👏
Love the openness and vulnerability of your video. So appreciated. You look amazing- please please tell us what makeup you are using.looks so good on you.
Thanks for making this video, I am one of those weird combo mixes so I also struggle with even deciding if I should visit my other country of birth. I could relate to a lot of the things you shared in todays video. But it also encouraged me to say yes go, there are so many lovely things to look forward too. I might just make a trip to get that sense of I fit here, i dont need to feel weird. Keep making videos, sick of the short reels everywhere which just steal ur attention but don’t give you solid content. Will continue to support your channel jovita.
Hi Jovita, just watched your video. I'm from India, but lived most of my life in Newzealand & Australia. My kids were born and raised in Newzealand....I can relate to some of the experience you had in Kuwait. My kids faced lot of racism & discrimination in Newzealand. My husband is from Kerala & I'm from Mangalore.
Super relatable video Jovi! I was born and raised in India and live in the U.K now but that feeling of belonging when I am back in India is just unparalleled! also , I know shorts are supposed to be cool but am very old school and I love watching full videos like your channel, long time follower but not an active commenter
I can see that you have hidden all the pain behind the smile of yours.
I can completely relate to how you feel .
I stayed in Dubai for 35 year , I was a 3 year old kid and had to come to India due to my husband's kidney failure .it's not easy moving from place to place with a 6 year old kid not knowing anyone with even one relative to go to or someone who you can relate to .
My husband passed away this January , Now it's just me and my son .
I have my dad here and that's it .............
I too don't wear jeans , hair it fried , skin is all 50 shades of brown , and don't get me started with how my feet look .
God has been kind to us for keeping us safe and just waiting to start something for our future .
G-4-4
Totally agree with your point about being treated as second class citizens to all south Asian people in the Middle East. My sister lives in Qatar and I know exactly what you mean. How can they treat people like that especially when they have to rely so much from all the hard working people from India, Bangladesh , nepal etc .
Growing older I realized that living in your own country is so soul satisfying.
Love your honesty and I’m so happy that your are doing so well and filled with the positivity. Keep going Jovi all the jovi approved products I somehow blindly rely on. XOXO
Thank you so much!!
Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Oh the clothing part is super relatable. I moved to Trivandrum from Bangalore for 8 months and jeans went out of my closet right away! And I had to move to cotton and linen. No more polyester for me! And of course anything beyond knee length is unbearable and sleeveless is the best for Kerala!
Loved the video...felt like a homely friendly chit chat! You look lovely and sound happy ! That peace is visible! Love and hugs!
So relatable being raised and now working in Kuwait. In Kochi now on a long break after 3 years and I can’t imagine going back to the Gulf life! There’s nothing there that sparks joy for me there anymore. the lack of good quality education for my kid is the most worrying bit!
I still enjoy longform content ♥️. I’ve a long time subscriber Jovita and this was a very enjoyable and interesting video.
Thank you for this video Jovita all your points are so relatable & true currently I’m in kuwait since 2016 I have born and brought up in Bangalore to live in Kuwait is not at all easy requires lot of sacrifices I don’t think💰 is everything when your not living your life so happy for you & you have not made the wrong decision settling back in India & living your life that’s more important❤️I’m waiting too to be back in my lovely city🫶
It’s good to know you are doing great with much of positivity! Happy for you! I can understand your feeling of being in a foreign country. I really like to be in India but I’m still scared of old minded people and society.
Jovi, just so you know....you were the first utuber I subscribed to!👍🏼🤗
Love your style n spontaneity.
Matters not where you call home, what matters is....
" Home Is Where The Heart Is"
Enjoy n Embrace 💜
Thank you so so much for making this video😭😭😭😭I loved for 22 years in Oman, Muscat and moved back to India, Mumbai in 2017 and I miss Oman every single day of my life and I just wanna go back home🇴🇲❤ I was raised in Oman by my parents, my dad spent 35 years working in Oman, mom was a homemaker and we had a beautiful life there , such a big house 🏡 and lavish car such beautiful roads.. Oman is such a peaceful and clean country I miss it sooooo much In shaa Allah will go back soon🇴🇲❤️❤️❤️🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲🇴🇲❤️❤️❤️❤️
omg !! can relate ....can relate🤩 loved it
Hi jovita. Lovely video. Please do try on shankara natural deodorant dot and key under arm colour corrector duo. Please do let us know. Even though I am light skinned, I still follow your videos because they are educational while being fun
I really like your makeup look for this video. Would love to watch a tutorial on it.
Enjoyed the video alot.
🥰
Omg! Word! "Where is home" is such a philosophical question now. Kuwait was home. Now feel like a nomad.
And you said "Panadol"..hahah. nice. Relate so much to all of this. But hair was so much better in Kuwait!! The moisture in Kerala is crazy for hair.
And I misssss soo misses good food! Gosh.
Good to see your in your best avatar of chit chatty Jovi. I am glad u are finally comfortable here in India.
I ammmmm! Thanks my love!
Glad that you finally found your balance. For Sushi I'll say, try it from other parts of India. Like you can try that in Mumbai or Kolkata. Like places with Asian restaurants run age old asian people. By that I mean the East Asians. Maybe you can finally find your Sushi. And about Salmon, well Idk. But there are a lot of smoked fishes which are Parsi dishes or Anglo Indian dishes. So may be you can other variety of smoked fish.
I settled in India too after 10 years, used to stay in Kuwait. It was very difficult too, weather, layering of clothes ( cardigan). Food yea bread, feta cheese, chips ( pufak). My pigmentation reduced too. All ur points are so true.
Love the video Jovi!
Yay!
Come to Bangalore for the Sushi and Ramen.. good to see you found some positives being in India gurl 💕
yup its frustrating to be in a place where you are not fully indian and not a citizen of wherever you are living your life. btw living in UAE. its not happening to be resident but not citizen. i enjoy in india more but still i love my home city at the moment. its so confusing sometimes. i can understand your point.
Exactly! And only we will understand each other I feel.. just gulfie things
True
@@MrJovitageorge totally agree
This makeup look is great Jovi!
Thank you love
@@MrJovitageorge poop p
@@MrJovitageorge pls discuss this look
You are so right about the salons in Kerala....I went to a salon long back and they popped my pimples on my forehead saying that they're whiteheads and it won't recurr, I refused and still they went ahead and I ended up having red bumps ,I still got small bumps on my forehead....No good salons where you can get a nice haircut. Went to one last year and they ruined my hair .....We need a regulatory body to monitor the services
Totally agree on the deo point.... It's the same for me i never sweat as much in india as compared to the gulf... I feel ya !!!
You're the bravest and most beautiful. And your humour omg ❤️❤️
Learnt a lot of new stuff yaa Jovi❤
This is soooooo relatable. Not with the NRI stuff but with the living in a humid place. Like picking out clothes based on the right material. I have curly hair too and I was conscious of my hair for most of my life. It's been a little bit over a year that I've started doing the curly girl method and I've fallen in love with how my hair looks. I don't even remember the last time I straightened my hair. It's still a task to manage it and most of the time I have it up in a bun.
I feel this one! When I am in tropical areas of India and US, it's the same issue frizz! I use a lot of oil serums to help it.
Believe me it's very same in most of North India barring winter season. It may not be that humid infact dry but not less than an oven.
The very first point 'deo ' bang it !!! 💯 relatable video. At times I crave for chocolates and specially Lockers, though we get them here it way to expensive and nor do they taste the same. But honestly me too being an ex NRI I don't miss Kuwait or the lifestyle anymore. The only thing I miss is our sweet home and my parents, hopefully they will be back soon.
Absolutely
🤩❣️🤗wooww..good to know you more..luv u jovi 🤗❣️I feel like you are very near me when you are in India💯so much closer I feel as I’m Tamil Nadu..☺️😇
Your awesome jovi.. Love to you🎉❤
I’m so happy Atleast someone is talking about this now.. have been living in oman for 25 years and shifted back to india .. Even though the country has given me a great lifestyle l have realized after my school years and ones I started working there ,that how much ever we contribute to the economic growth of that country by working even harder than most ppl there even their own nationals we always get that second class citizen treatment.. it’s insane why they invite people to their country for work but always put restrictions such as noc for job changes and most employers don’t even provide that and most people are stuck at the same job forced to work under the same salary especially considering the cost of living there.. it’s just not fair.. we deserve to get atleast an equal treatment and opportunity for growth if we are contributing to the growth of an economy of a particular country… thanks alot for bringing this up 👍
On my engagement, they used up 3 cans of hairspray to keep it straight. And curled a certain way. The force is very strong with humidity in Kerala.
Loool! They used so much hair gel on my hairdo for my wedding reception that I had a migraine throughout and when I finally unrolled my hair afterwards, clumps of gel just fell out! The force is Kylo-Ren level.
You are looking so beautifully fresh Jovi..I am getting those pink ponds powder flying around you vibe ❤️❤️
haha thanks girl
Can totally relate!
Omg I'm an ex nri too. Grew up in Dubai and I've come back to Bombay. For some reason idk y I can't adapt to the street food and stuff here idk y. I still miss my shawarma and Oman chips and all of that. But u were so bang on about how twisted our idea of healthy is in the middle east. Even I stopped eating much bread and dairy !
If you’re looking for comfortable fabrics for hot and humid weather, besides cotton, I highly recommend linen. It feels so lightweight, doesn’t stink when you sweat, and feels quite cool and soothing. The only downside is, it requires ironing 😅
Can you recommend any store or online apps or brands for linen.
On another note, start a Podcast Jovi...love listening to you. 🥰 Heart to Heart 💖
Absolutely relate 💯
So relatable!
What is your suggestion for pigmentation and clear skin, Jovita chechi!!
Nice video…very relatable 💐
I’m mixed Japanese and Indian born and brought up in India cure toy living in Japan. My life has changed drastically after moving to a different country. The culture, food, language, and makeup to clothing everything is different. And i’m trying my best to fit in lmao
Every point! Spot on! The climate point especially! My whole life revolves around the climate here in Kerala 😅 Identity crisis of the Gulfie kids is REAL! Thank you for doing this episode!❤️
Can you give details about those background lights and decor, they are adorable ❤️
Lived in Kuwait for 4.5 years and shifted to India before 7 months. I can totally relate what all you said. India is the best. Just being in India makes you happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only point that I would like to add is the greenery. I took it for granted until I landed in Kuwait. Couldn't cope with the desert everywhere. Now I am relaxed when I look outside. India rockzzz!!!
Jovi jovi our dear jovi! ❤ yup! You definitely look younger.
Can you pls make a video on hair care in India. The weather here changes everything. Hair used to be so sorted in the middle east
OMG! I agree with almost all the things you said. It takes a couple of years to get to know the locals here. And I have stopped wearing jeans and have become completely desi. Simple cotton salwar kameez for a comfy family routine. I never used to have chapati before, now I make them. Another thing, is high heels. I do not wear high heels anymore. Unless someone uses a car for everything, say no to heels. Only for occasions. And home delivery is so expensive here. Atleast where I live.
yes yes yes.. ur skin changed a lot babe ❤️🔥
From the start till the end totally relatable and i Love you 💘
I finally bought your brushes.....❤️
Your skin has got better ❤
That was like having a great chat with my best friend with a cup of coffee.....so relatable and comforting 🥰
I'm so glad!
Well said. Can relate as I spent half of my life in 🇰🇼 😃😃
So while listening to you just had a thought..what abt sharing your 'what I eat in a day'..that wld be lovely and might give us a tip or two..(motivation to eat healthy and clean an added bonus) 😄
Lots of Love Jovi 💖
Can we call this one a clean girl makeup look? Loooved the look ❤️
Hi jovi, I love your videos . 💕💖
Ur schhhhhh a love Jovi 🥰 can go onnnnn hearing u for hours God bless ur sch a treat to the ears😀
Hello jovita! I am new in ur tribe. But i relate a lot to you. I am an born and brought up in india indian. Still taxes is a big issue for me too. Your make up in this video is amazing. I would love to know more about how u figured out taxes.
Hello. Love Your channel! as you are talking about food, could you do a what I eat in a day video? I would love to see what you are eating now that you are in India. Thanks in advance. Have a nice day!
Jovi.. looking so beautiful ❤️
Thanks Jovita for the chit chat. Take care. Canada.
Nice makeup 😍😍
Please try shushi from Shiro Bangaluru. They are really good.
Always been a fan of your humour, though a silent viewer , couldn’t control myself today. Mom’s jeans, dad’s, boyfriend jeans whatever 😂.
how i wish you had a clothing line! (maybe an idea for a future venture for you);)
Plz give a review on supergoop glow sunscreen stick??
I love your vibe
Bombay has some great sushi.. Do check them out on your next visit.
I OD on sushi when I’m in Bombay!
LOL. I feel you girl. 😅When I moved to Kerala back in 2015, I stopped wearing jeans altogether. It's been 4 years since I moved to Mumbai and I still can't bring myself to wear jeans. Now I can be found at all times in one piece dress outfits which help air move inside my clothes efficiently.
Lazer hair removal at home devices. Have you used them? Could you do a review.?
Can truly relate. Been here since October 2018.
Totally relate to the gulfie kids problem. Na idhar ke na udhar ke...
Totally relatable dear Jovita(gorgeous by the way 😍♥️😊) Except for the way they treat us. Yes the slight subtle differences n condescending looks are there from some... But from personal experience although they look grumpy most are quite kind-hearted, generous and intelligent as opposed to the general belief shown n perpetuated in the movies as dumb flashy individuals... Not saying they are not there but the population of the middle east is a pretty nice appreciative set of folks. The other side is that Malayalis n everyone who has worked or lived there constantly crib about the citizens, their behavior, lifestyles and how much more they are needed to be paid (some quite legit) once they stop working for them or start living( or leaving )in their countries. And though generally people are kind n good to us Nris, there's a negative impression of us that doesn't really go away. But everything else is 100%true though Kerala and India have changed for the better living wise in a lot of ways 😁😍Get better soon dear❤️💞😍
Hie dear same situation for me born n brought up in kuwait and now i cant go back its been a year..i really miss kuwait
Can relate to every single thing that u have told in this video
I am so happy for you that there are positive changes in your life
I love you Jovi. And I loooovvveee listening to you. Your energy, your vibe, your charming personality and your beauty make me fall in love with you every time. I can listen to you the whole day. Coming to being a resident, I am happy that you are living your life better and I too enjoy your content much more. And you know these kinds of chit-chat videos are my favourite.🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗❤❤❤

Yes, just 1 drop at night
Hey Jovita..whatever whatever you said is soo very true..I too am a Kuwait product, lived all my life there and moved back to Mangalore in October 2020..And especially about the hair, salon and most importantly Sushi..I miss tht too😏
Im still on a hunt for a good salon to get a good hair colour done🤔
Btw...soo soo love ure content and I take all your skin and hair care advices which has truly helped me alot..Thank you soo much
Hi Vallery Sam - When I was reading the comments on this VLog, the word Mangalore caught my eyes since I live here too. You also wrote about finding a good salon for hair coloring. I can recommend a place in case you are interested. 😊
