i use the blue bottle stanadyne for fuel additive it keeps fuel from gelling and other stuff give that a try. also if theres a way you can mount a fuel filter inline after your new bauer pump that will filter junk and water out since fuel tanks always condensate alittle. i also use a blue barrel like that for my diesel to but i found a broke 15gpm filrite pump and fixed it and thats how i pump mine. best thing i ever did i have a setup for gas and diesel i never have to use a fuel can again

That's what I want to do too. I want to get rid of gas stuff on the homestead too. Go all diesel! Around here gas goes bad in 4 or 5 months.

@@CollegeHillFarm yea you gotta use stabilizer I use stabil 360 for gas it easily stays good for a year but I also keep my fuel barrels in the shed I think keeping it out of sunlight helps alot too

Thanks, almost everything is better out of the sunlight for storage.

Hard to beat a simple set up like that. I'll definitely be curious to see how well it keeps up with the diesel year after year.

It may be perfectly fine, but I would make sure that it's safe to pump a flammable fuel through that pump. I mean it does say water only, so there may be a reason for that. I think pumps that pump flammable and explosive fluids are specially made to where there's no chance of a metal on metal spark, or a static charge of any kind.

If it were gasoline I would be to concerned to do it. But not diesel.

@@CollegeHillFarm Yes. It has been used for decades by our military. You can add the recommended amount each year and keep the fuel good for a decade.
