Before the Forest sounds really intriguing! And the Memory Theater. Sounds right up my alley. I love parallel worlds stories, and I read several of the Wayward Children books and enjoyed those. I think I’ll pick up both of these!
This is a pretty great reading week! The memory theatre is the one with an intriguing concept that interests me. I have been leaning to dark things at the moment but I miss my romance reads so I am going to try and read some lighter christmas romance books to make things balanced.
I've seen The Memory Theatre around and was curious about it - thanks for the review! That picture book piqued my interest, but I just know my library won't have a copy of it unfortunately.

The Memory Theater is at the library. I'll pick it up after I finish It Will Only Hurt for a Moment (Delilah S. Dawson). Have you read Boy with a Black Rooster (Stefanie vor Schulte)? The audiobook Strange Sally Diamond (Liz Nugent). Deeeeply disturbing. I think you might enjoy it.
Let me know what the Dawson is like I have not read boy with a black rooster - unfortunately my library does not have it I have read strange Sally diamond - I didn’t enjoy it as it was a bit too much trauma porn for me
At least Halloween lives on. Thanksgiving in the U.S. is nothing more than a coma in a sentence on the way to the juggernaut of Christmas. Darker stuff? I wonder now if I could recommend Thomas Covenant. It's my favorite fantasy series but I can't recommend to most people. It's not so much dark as it is opera. And the protagonist is gonna make you angry.
@@ChanelChapters The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever is a 10 book series written over 3 decades. Sexual assault trigger warning in the first book, but there is a purpose in both story and symbology. (I did a video on the series).

I love that you had a good week overall for reading. 💖

It’s all about that balance

Yeah I was surprised my library had a copy tbh
the music composed for a book seems fascinating. I'd love to hear music inspired by Edward Tulane
Ooo that would be something

Jon Fosse is very popular here in Norway. I haven't read anything by him myself. I'm scared his books will be too dry...
Well this one definitely was for me unfortunately

Is that a series?

do cats actually reciprocate love? they always seem so take take take no give. counterpoint, dogs can be clingy
I think it depends on the cat - ours run to the door whenever we come home and shower us with affection
