      No Luka Doncic = Ball movement = team play and more contributions from everybody. Luka's complaining and pounding the air out of the ball robs this whole team of energy and pace. Anyone who can't see that or won't admit what their eyes are seeing is an enabler of Luka's behavior and a part of the problem. Also, very mischievous of the host to say trade Luka and Kyrie. Nobody wants Kyrie traded, so stop trying to make it appear that Luka and Kyrie are one entity...when things go awry for Luka it's a tag team with Kyrie. Where is that tag-team when the MVP conversation is going?

    Hey guys, greetings from Serbia. I would just like to say that we in Serbia support the Denver Nuggets, for obvious reasons, but when they are not playing - we all support the Dallas Mavs - 100%! We all love our Luka so much, he is our brother, he understands everything we are talking about (he will know what I am talking about), and besides, he dominates the NBA. He and Joker are miles above everyone else (I don't want to offend anyone), and all of us here in the "motherland" dream of a team with both of them! Me personally - I'd love it to be in a beautiful Dallas TX! We often envision a scenario where Joker signs for the Mavericks, and he and Luka have some crazy banter about it, and there's BIG KYRIE (I love him so much), and there's Aaron Gordon who (somehow, idk) follows his buddy Joker. ..c'mon - everything is possible in dreams! Anyway, I just want the people of Dallas and great state of Texas, and all the Mavs fans in the World to know how we feel. We love you so much, and thank you for recognizing this magical game and Luke's role in it! LOVE AND RESPECT FOR THE ENTIRE DALLAS MAVERICKS FAMILY, FROM SERBIA!

    The Mavs size once again shows itself. It was absolutely glaring against OKC and tonight it came up HUGE. This is why I will always believe 2 is better than 1.
    Joker had a helluva game. I was impressed with how hard he makes you work on him. Just ALWAYS leaning on you, pushing on you, will bang on you, put you in the blender with his spin cycle. But Lively & Gafford were up to the challenge and could play more minutes than Jokic and that helped Dallas win the boards and own the paint.
    And I loved it at the end. PJ and Naji just picking on Murray. Like the Mavs knew who their B was gonna be and they didn't play around. And the fact that PJ & Naji both can drive the ball really well & both have really nice floater game makes it really hard on the defense.

    • @TheMexicanVaquero
      @TheMexicanVaquero 11 часов назад +1

      @@jlavigne1155honestly I’d rather start lively with the goal of giving him more minutes and then give gafford more minutes as lively gets into foul trouble. Lively should be starting, the teams ceiling is just higher with lively on the field, he’s slightly better defensively and offensively he gives more options because he doesn’t tunnel vision the basket as much as Gafford does.
      And that’s not to discredit Gafford, Gafford is great, but if possible we’d rather have lively there for longer, and if he can’t stay on the field and Gafford needs to play more minutes, I mean that’s just not a bad thing. That just shows how strong our center duo is.

Maybe he should miss time until he's actually healthy and then have heavily restricted minutes until he can be a positive contributer on both ends of the floor.
    On the other hand, this was a game they had absolutely no business winning. Kyrie looked merely human and Klay was ohfer. Against the Nuggets. And they won. That encourages me about what they might become if ever they truly start clicking. He's a young guy and playing through fouls is part of his learning curve. The team is just better all around with him out there. He can contest bigs and has the range to bother shots just outside the paint. He is a much more active player than Gafford and has better hands on the offensive end. We need him out there. Said it before, will say it again: PJ is just different. He takes pride in his defense and does the all-around dirty work by himself if needed -- hustle and effort all night long. The box score won't always show, but the eye test doesn't lie. Naji is starting to look like that as well, plus the deadly drive with floaters, tear drops and even clumsy one-legged fadeaways, bucket after bucket. To me it's clear the 0-4 stretch had much more to do with PJ's absence (and Lively's as well) than with Luka underperforming (which he did, of course).
    Mavs are simply another team with guys like P-Jail, D-Live and now the Naji/Grimes combo functionig at a high level. But don't forget Luka is by the sideline taking notes and learning. They are bound to get much better as the season progresses.

    I have a take about Kyrie I think he’s also purposely not taking shot to get his teams confidence up. I think he truely recognizes and trusts what his teammates are capable of. In the second half he struggled but there were points in the first half he could’ve had more and forced it. 3 shots in the 1st when Luka is out? He’s out there to help these guys when they need it but I believe he trusts that they’re capable of these performances and it worked. Only 19 shots in a game he easily coulda shot 25+

His shot was terrible and that issue was happening down low. A switch went off for him in the playoffs. As for Klay, he has to get more consistent! @Mr.Thomas_Anderson
      I can actually. Not enough money on the table to have Green, Naji, and DJJ deals. Also don't know how Green and Grimes would react on the same team playing the same role and most likely fighting for minutes as DJJ wanted to stay the starter. Also no Forward on the bench as Naji role. The bench would lack size at the 3-4.
      We lost a Finals because we lacked 3pt shooting. Klay is a top 6 all time 3pt shooter and an experienced champion. You look towards that deal to get a guy who is experienced on that field and is proven to do it on a championship field. It'll take time for Klay to get used to this offense as well as Luka as even he has to change his game for this team. It's not the same team as the Finals team and it shouldn't be as Luka last year was playing number 1 at usage rate and had to go 38% at 3(he is a career 34% from 3) just for the Mavs to get out of the play-in which wasn't sustainable long term. As shown in the Finals as other than the inconsistent 3s, Luka's knees were so banged up that he could barely threaten the midrange/attack the paint, which bailed the C's defense out. Made White, Holiday, Horford, and Brown look better than what they were. Hopefully Klay gets it together but you can't hate on the move as it's hard to argue shooters better than Klay.

      A heavier frame is objectively better for Luka, but I'm talking about last year's frame. He doesn't need to dunk like in his rookie season, he needs to be heavy, it helps his offensive versatility.

    37:40……Klay didn’t miss “some shots”.
    He missed EVERY SHOT. When a shooter, not a scorer, is 0-8, you start to wonder why he’s playing. 23 minutes, 6th most on the team vs Denver, and he was scoreless with two turnovers.
    38% from the field for the season.
    I don’t remember Tim, Josh or DJJ ever being this bad. This might be a mistake we need to remedy at the trade deadline.
    Again Josh Green, in limited shots granted, is hitting 48% from the field,

    • @beastscale1892
      @beastscale1892 9 часов назад

      Depends on which Luka.
      Drive,kick, and midrange assassin with HOF Passing Luka would turn this game into a 15+ point blowout mavs win if he just stays consistent on the defensive end(he would take Hardy and Kleber's minutes entirely).
      The shot chucking 3ball, whine to the refs, and no hustle on defense Luka would turn this game into a 8+ point Denver win as Jokic would have more possessions early on to psych himself back into the game as we saw in the 3rd quarter.
      Again it depends on Luka's maturity and shot selection. The 3ball only helps his opponents not himself as he is such a great midrange player when he FOCUSES on that.
