Braun has been nothing but impressive for me as a Nuggets fan. He’s a pivotal part of our title run in his rookie season, then had another solid season last year. This year he’s starting and trying to replace KCP, and he’s been arguably better than him thus far. Him hitting threes is genuinely a shock to me and most Nuggets fans, but he’s knocking them down like he’s MPJ and that completely changes the outlook of our title hopes. He’s one of my favorite players to watch right now and I’m excited to see how he continues to grow as a player.
The 3 pointers in general have been impressive for me . Jokic knew that was a huge weakness for them last year so he took it upon himself to take more and make more 3s this year. His team has followed suit.
The biggest different between CB and KCP is that CB ain't a soft pushover like KCP was driving to the rim. If CB see you lacking he gonna dunk on your head. He finish strong!. He finish at the rim with force. What makes CB game so efficient is that he isn't scared to attack the rim like KCP was. KCP was really scared of contact on the offensive side of the ball. KCP couldn't finish at the rim in any situation even on fast break KCP would be missing wide open layups. CB is gonna ran into your chest and push all the air out of you with his drives. This kid is HELLA STRONG and he ain't scared of nobody. He gonna drive to climb any C and put them on a CB Poster Kid is really smart about the game. He knows where to be at all times. He knows how to cut and how to linger around the dunker spot for a big longer. One of the biggest issues with non smart cutters is that they just cut and if they don't receive the while moving they quit the play and move out. CB cut and then stay ready hanging around a big longer on the paint to see if he can get a 2nd look pass. He also wait for the player to take the eyes off him before moving. He only move went the opposite player is looking the other way. Always getting on their blind spots KCP would be missing all those fast breaks attempts Thanks to CB and WB the Nuggets climbed into the team who get the most FTA per game. KCP never got free throws, Reggie Jackson never got FT's either. Thanks to this hyper aggressive way of playing Jokic,WB,CB,AG,Jamal everyone is getting a career high FTA per game.
It is great seeing his confidence grow. Last year he was turning down shots and very hesitant at times. That hasn't been the case this year, he is actually looking to score and picking his spots really well.
As a Kansas and Nuggets fan nobody believed me when I said Christian would be great and he is starter material, I watched him win the natty and he had absolute such a great importance with Ochai and I knew once he went back to his days at Kansas he’d be a good scorer and he never lost his aggressive defense
Coming into this season, Braun was better than KCP at everything BUT 3 point shooting. But, that's exactly what the nuggets needed. So, if his jumper stays consistent (he doesn't have to shoot 46% or anything, but a nice 36-39% would be ideal) he will be the better player in every category by the end of the year.
He doesn’t really need the creation aspect for his threes imo unless teams start really treating him like a shooter and I only see that happening if he ramps up his volume from behind the arc.
Christian Braun has done a pretty good job of replacing KCP’s production even though they are different types of players. Still would probably prefer KCP as the better shooter, but Braun as a starter has been great. Problem is that they still haven’t replaced Bruce Brown or Christian Braun’s roles on the bench. Nuggets need to make a trade for a bench player.
Westbrook and Strawther have been good off the bench. They need Watson to step up if the bench is going to be more consistent offensively. Losing Holmes has hurt with Saric not giving them much.
@@mh_golfer Holmes getting injured before the season even starts hurts alot man. I was excited to see what he brings to the team but alas. Hoping he recovers fully.
@@mh_golfer Westbrook has a -31 on/off. He's been the worst player in NBA. As soon as he comes in the game Denver starts losing. Strawther has been fine if he's your 8th or 9th guy but he's not ready to play 30 minutes per game in the playoffs like Denver needs. Which is why you just re-sign KCP and pay the tax because Braun could have replace Brown this year and Strawther could have stepped into Braun's role from 2023 and they have no way to acquire someone who can be a 30 minute per game 2-way playoff guy.
@@AVAXII yeah, Braun has shot the 3 really well this season, but i need to see a lot more to think that he is going to be as good as or better than KCP as a shooter. They’re still missing KCP 3P shooting volume and ability to shoot off of movement. I do like the cutting that they do with Braun (and other players like Russ) to create spacing even with less actual shooting.
braun is a secret weapon. ever since last year when he came off the bench, he has been a surprise for me. with the proper molding under joker, he could become a solid number 2 or 3 for the team.
He really can't. He can't create his own shot at all, isn't a high level playmaker and isn't a high level shooter. But he synergizes extremely well with Jokic, has good size, is a good athlete and is smart.
No he doesn't. You cannot give away a 35 minute per game playoff guy when you have no avenue for replacing him. Now it's entirely possible he's just taking the slings and arrows for his ownership and he gets the credit he deserves for the 2022 offseason but he's made a lot of relaly bad moves since: - Giving Reggie Jackson two years (for no reason) then attaching three picks to get off the money so he could sign a worse player in Westbrook - Trading away Ryan Dunn _and_ three picks for DaRon Holmes - Getting _nothing_ back for KCP ... at least ask for Gary Harris - The Zeke Nnaji extension And he probably should have split MPJ into two rotation players. I genuinely think he could have gotten Fontecchio, Stewart and #5 from Detroit for MPJ
@@drizzyfr2 They are facts. How are they wrong? No one who watches basketball was concerned about Braun. The kid was getting Finals minutes as a rookie. But you can't win a title with 5 guys.
@@michaelahurt Russ is a way better upgrade than Reggie Jackson. Why didn’t you mention Saric he’s literally done nothing. DaRon Holmes hasn’t even played
@drizzyfr2 I didn't mention Saric because he is what he is. He's fine. He's a minimum guy. And from an offensive continuity standpoint it's a perfectly logical signing. Saric can at least plausibly mimic what Jokic does so they don't need two offenses. Holmes hasn't played but it's highly unlikely he's going to be better than Dunn + 3 picks for a team that desperately needs draft capital. Also letting that get out drove up the price. Westbrook has a -31 on/off. He's the worst rotation player in the NBA. He's definitely not better than Jackson at this stage. And there were multiple other minimum PG they could have brought in.
If Braun tightens up his handles, and develops a little floater - and he's forced to be a primary offensive catalyst, I think he can be a very, very good NBA player.
