- I'm all about customization and personalization of machines, especially trucks purpose-built for a specific task. Daryl Beger of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Manitoba builds and sells custom truck parts and accessories that he designs and manufactures. And what better way to spotlight his parts for sale than to build a display truck for shows?!
It only takes a few seconds seeing and hearing this attention -grabbing 2001 Peterbilt 378 to appreciate the talents that Daryl and the crew at Beger Industries have. They call it "Toxic Traits"
Starting with a bare set of frame rails and an old cab parked in a field, Daryl resurrected the truck and gave this gorgeous big rig a new job in its second life.
He decided the day cab would have a 600hp CAT under the little big hood conversion. An 18 speed transmission, a 236in wheelbase and a heavy-duty steer axle with air-ride suspension built in-house at their Canadian shop set it up for pulling low-boy trailers. The headache rack was custom-built in their facility as well.
As he puts it, "The truck hasn't seen a trailer. YET. But we're building the next truck already. It'll have a sleeper, and a bigger sound system."
I can't wait to see what the Beger Industries team will build next. Can you? Doubtless it'll be big, loud, bright and mean. And best of all; you'll be able to buy its parts for your own truck too.
