This tutorial was amazing!! I tried following Jo Nakashima's tutorial, and even though he's a great folder and teacher, sometimes his tutorials are way out of my league. I just ended up with a ton of wasted paper (poor trees :( ) This one though, was really simple and not too time-consuming. Thank you so much; you just got a new sub ^-^
I remember this! I did this in elementary, but I didn’t have those little papers, so I made my own from another square origami pattern I learned! The memories!! Lols
For some of you who can't get the strips, just cut out .5 inch strips from A4 paper or buy them from here: www.etsy.com/listing/188184206/1000-sheets-best-value-bulk-packaged?ref=sc_1&plkey=0ad650d82a52904205a94356d1f31b4335cf6ea1%3A188184206&ga_search_query=paper+strips&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery Also this is a very cool project and it actually turns out really awesome. Thank You dutchpapergirl!!
AWESOME!!!!! - I've done the icosahedron/ dodecahedron ones with just paper pieces.... modular origami adds a whole new layer of complexity to paper folding
This is cool! I made it and it turned out great although it did take me about 3 hours to make this but still this is awsome! This is the easiest way to make origami moving cubes.
thanks for the tutorial! I made one. It's tedious but worth it. I pasted pictures on both sides of my moving cubes. So when I move it, the pictures shuffle. Now I feel like making more (If only I have the time >_>) thanks again for sharing :D
yeah it is SURE better than any other video for the Moving Cubes! keep enjoying us with your stunning instruction videos.:) you should rename your video to Moving Cubes (No Glue)
haha hey! You remember those long strips of paper that came off of printer paper a long time ago? I used to do the "mouse stairs" fold with those pieces all the time as a kid.
@Technoman155 .The length of the strip is the desired amount of squares multiplied by the width of the paper. (eg. For a strip with 12 squares you need 2cm x 24cm)
@AtTaCkOfThErEtArDs17 1.The length of the strip is the desired amount of squares multiplied by the width of the paper. (eg. For a strip with 12 squares you need 2cm x 24cm)
@LastChaosSlayer no, because with modular origami you make a lot of identical pieces which you then put together; not fold together in different lengts...
Hi, great video, i made like 6 moving cubes and gave them away to friends and family. I was wondering whether it's possible to make 4x4 or moving cubes using this technique.. thanks for your time!
@DeOdahBrowneKidz for each cube you need 3 strips of each 6 squares long. And you need 3 strips of paper for connecting the cubes (one qo squares long, 2 7 squares long)
XD
@4Dimension84619 I used A4. If you wnt to use strips of 1 cm just cut it of; if you want to use 1,5 cm just cut it of... It does not matter; the paper is long enough!
Very cool! I'll try to make one :)

Wow, I'm 5 years late. Nice job! I like it...
You have a wonderful hands. love it
@hanniyes Yes:) 27 strips (each 6 cubes long), 2 connecting strips ( each 7 cubes long) and 1 connecting strip (10 cubes long)

BEAUTIFUL cubes!
This worked out really nicely for me!
thanks for the tutorial! I made one. It's tedious but worth it. I pasted pictures on both sides of my moving cubes. So when I move it, the pictures shuffle. Now I feel like making more (If only I have the time >_>) thanks again for sharing :D

You're a genius!!! I can teach now my mouse how to climb stairs! ^^
wow!!! you are amazing!! thanks for this tip!!!!!!

Mousestairs is a cute name. When I was a child, we called this shape a "Jacob's ladder."

@Technoman155 .The length of the strip is the desired amount of squares multiplied by the width of the paper. (eg. For a strip with 12 squares you need 2cm x 24cm)
Wow, this is so cool, thank you for posting
@AtTaCkOfThErEtArDs17 1.The length of the strip is the desired amount of squares multiplied by the width of the paper. (eg. For a strip with 12 squares you need 2cm x 24cm)
Measure with a ruler (1 cm wide) and then cut ... Make strips in the length of the paper!
@LastChaosSlayer no, because with modular origami you make a lot of identical pieces which you then put together; not fold together in different lengts...
thanks for replying me in just 30 minutes i didn't expect anyone to reply that fast
Oh thanks. I was worried it would not move if I tried:)
I like it!! its so awesome!!
Looks like magic! ♥♥
No
Hi, great video, i made like 6 moving cubes and gave them away to friends and family.
I was wondering whether it's possible to make 4x4 or moving cubes using this technique.. thanks for your time!

@pochincol Nice to see you are enthousiastic!!!
Omg!!!! U are genius!!!!!!!!
AWESOME!! LOVE IT
Super nice job keep it up👍
Girl, you are awesome
Ya lo hice! Y me quedo bien chido!
Make them as long as the long side of the paper. Fold them and then cut them to the rigtht length.
i like this more than the glues one =)
1,5 centimeters times the squares you need!
@DisneyLover1224 It is made out of paper (same thickness as ordinairy printing paper)
@DeOdahBrowneKidz for each cube you need 3 strips of each 6 squares long. And you need 3 strips of paper for connecting the cubes (one qo squares long, 2 7 squares long)
i love your videos
that's amazing!
@FFdrawer a square meter is 1 x 1 meter. 120 mm is a length (12 cm)
Hi. This is neat!
@ukiuki551 ofcourse!
Lady that was awsome. :) Thanks
Awesome, it wouldn't be cool if you made a 3d version of this!!
thats so cool ... im gonna try that :)
Great idea .Thanks :D
It's great :D I must make one.
WHOAAAAAAAAAAAA that was amazing!!!
@brikmastr 80 grams means 80 grams is the weight of 1 square meter.... With what weights do you weigh???
its actually cool
GENIUS!
@blocula strips 1 cm wide for example (and 11 cm long)
Finished! :D Took about 1½ hrs. :3
Awesome! For this I have subscribed you
This is very ingenious! Is it possible to do this kind of thing with 16 cubes or maybe even 25 cubes?
OMG! It is so easy!
shut
XD
did you make this way up on your own ?
If You did, Awesome!!
Thanks a lot. also how long are those strips are they cut from A4 paper?
eindelijk een nederlander op youtube!!
AMAZING!!
@4Dimension84619 I used A4. If you wnt to use strips of 1 cm just cut it of; if you want to use 1,5 cm just cut it of... It does not matter; the paper is long enough!
What did you use to cut these strips perfectly?
@watercat1302 If you use a bit stif paper it will stay together easily!
you should da have used like red paper to connect the cubes to show people more clearly .but its nice imma definately gonna make this
@Deustchkid 1,5 cm wide are the strips of paper
OMG! Its hard and easy in the same time
@meeraedora32 for the individual cubes; why not. Take a very indistinctive color to connect the cubes....
so for the ones u made exactly how long and wide were they and how many strips of paper did u use?
How many and how long do the strips have to be?
This tut is great. May I ask what's the name of the song? It made me so relaxed to watch this vid with the music.
@CookiizAndBlehh 27 strips (each 6 cubes long), 2 connecting strips ( each 7 cubes long) and 1 connecting strip (10 cubes long)
@MrArjavam They are cut from a4, so they are about 30 cm long.
What kind of paper is that?
can you please tell that website from where you get these awesome origami?
u posted the video on my bday :)
Great! Now...what is the size of the paper and how many do we need?
omg thats awesome nice
how did you get that many perfect strips of paper?
