I remember the Gagarin. If memory serves, MarkyD built it. He was going by several different names back then, but his work was very identifiable. Some excellent mesh work, and textures still hold up today over a decade later.
The Gagarin is a rather interesting design. It does look like an early model of the Ambassador class and see some of the Connie Refit. Ouch saucer separation for the B. I agree with MSR1701 that was a pretty good video.

Ambassador? Maybe but only the gondulas. It looks more like a conny refit for the time of post / late excelsior time. Just replace the gondulas with enterprise a and you have just that, a refit of a good and old constelation.
In case you missed it, the Gagarin should have an updated file on Gamefront fixing the phasers. Would also suggest the USS James T Kirk and USS Anubis. 😎
