Why couldn't they use this for the Enterprise F? Hope to see the Constitution class be upgraded more, as well to see the Enterprise G and on be in the Constitution class.
I'm fine with the saucer, but I think the Navigational Deflector needs some work. It looks too...technical, like it has too many small parts which could break.
The saucer's dorsal and ventral hulls are convex reminiscent of the -D rather than concave like the original Enterprise. I think it adds a little dimension to the saucer, gives it a little more interior room without throwing off the profile. Personally, I really, _really_ dig this look. I even might... _might_ ... likeitmorethanthefirstrefitGASP!😲
I love this redesign! The Conny refit Enterprise is the first "Enterprise" of my personal experience and I have always loved the lines. Seeing it in full TNG-era glory makes me so happy. 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
@@simpsonfan13 Sonya's ship is an Obena-class. They're not merely modified Excelsiors as if they're old ships being repurposed. They're an entirely separate class that is likely to replace an Ambassador-class and supplement Galaxy or Sovereign classes given Starfleet was still recovering from the Dominion War. The designers and engineers took the shape of the enhanced Excelsior variant (think of the Enterprise B and Lakota) and make it bigger, tougher, and still be a versatile enough ship to be a jack of all trades. When you think about it, it's both a practical and political move. Practical given the Excelsior design, even it's Enterprise B variant, was a tried and true engineering masterpiece. The problem was all Excelsior ships in service were too old to be constantly upgraded and many of them were scrapped after the war due to extensive battle damage. The Obena-class was literally a new Excelsior-class for a new era and was built from the ground up. Everything about it was new and tailor made for that class, so they're entirely new ships to fit a niche. Then there's the political aspect. An Excelsior was always the symbol of Federation diplomacy even when there were better ships that could do same the job. It excelled the role the Constitution-class has done for decades and everyone knew when you see an Excelsior heavy cruiser in your doorstep, you knew Starfleet and the Federation are taking you seriously.
Wow, blast from the past! I used to play BC all the time back in the 03-07 timeframe. I didn't realize the modding scene was still alive! Might have to get back into it
Ah, good old bridge commander.Good memories from back in the Armada days. This game needs a proper successer. Like god, imagine it being redone on unreal 5 💥. With that out of the way, this design is a pritty cool concept, and would it work in the trek verse? Maybe I could see it as an admirals ship refited during the early tng era. Great video, good old nostalgia.
That model is top notch. Full credit to the artists, people who worked on her. Almost enough to make me love a Constitution. If not for the Sovereign and later NX1458, Hans Talhoffer in STO...
The Connie refit is my favorite ship, and I definitely adore this ship. Maybe the advanced quantums are a bit much, but overall a very nice ship that would have been great to see pop up in the TNG/DS9 era
Yeah, in the show, they could have used the excuse that some old admiral always had a soft spot for the Connie Refit, so he used his pull and clout to make sure a modern version of the Connie Refit got made. It would have been a prototype for a new, upgraded, Constitution class!
The Constellation-class refit lost the best features of the Starship Enterprise (TOS): the spinning lights of the Bussard collectors, the smooth hull surfaces, the pure energy phasers and photon torpedoes, etc.
Nice, this ship has an actual thicker neck pylon! I never understood how enemies could just easily blast at the neck of the older Constitution and separate the saucer from the secondary hull
I wonder about that from time to time. I tend to think of the neck and warp pylons as well structured, reinforced components of the starship; they are meant to take alot of punishment, not only from impacts but from the stress of maneuvers. I also figure there are more important areas to target on a ship, areas that can be damaged without necessarily destroying the whole vessel and anything else in close proximity to that vessel, such as your own vessel. Taking out phaser banks, torpedo bays and sensors makes more sense to me, and that seems to bear out in most of Star Trek. Hitting at the warp pylons and neck just seems wasteful of phasers and torps. Funny observation: in TWOK , the Enterprise takes out one of the Reliant's warp nacelles, crippling but not destroying the ship. By contrast, in TNG, the Bozeman, a soyuz class variant akin to the miranda class, of which Reliant was, merely rakes the warp nacelle of the Enterprise D with its own nacelle, triggering a chain reaction that eventually destroys the Enterprise D. Makes you wonder about engineering designs and production mindset of StarFleet Engineering.
Great video! Great ship!!! Put this up against three Vor'Cha's. Make it a modern Kobiyashi Maru!!! It would also be so awesome if someone made a version of this with the Enterprise-A's markings on her!
@@RetroBadgerGaming A TNG version of the TMP Constitution Class. Loved it. Whoever designed this is unmistakably a student of Captain Montgomery Scott.
@ajmittendorf no but you can make it a not just being a laughable pretty relic any enemy commander would joke their ancestor fought in past. To a capable ship of line at very least fit for patrol dutys.
😲I love this ship... a beautiful ship love the more thinker saucer section and yes double launchers.. Love the new torpedo sound and larger phaser beam... I love it the size looks proportional and a very nice look.. *well one at the front window have are first to see incoming torpedos.. lol.. Scotty would love that ouff. even that new ship smell lol... 🤣No I don't think the Defiant liked that eeh also at 2:37 after the first torpedo hit looked like the runabout just took off... wow... and the war ship I could see the size difference and wow..😂 Saffi does like explosions doesn't she well for a Cardassian.. think they all do.. just saying.. lol.. Well done Captain... very nice job loved everything... 🖖
In terms of trying to find where this ship came from, I tried to find NCC-1796 USS Resurrection, which is on the hull. The redesign appears to have been around since 2010, but none of the sources seem to have any downloads for it. Perhaps Retro-Badger can try tracking down the files in his install related to the variant and try and reverse engineer the mod to make it available for everyone.
0:19 “They’ve taken the Enterpise A design-“ “It’s too late.” (Also, had they done this in TNG and DS9, it would have maybe added a bit of an edge to the dominion war. No more Miranda class cannon fodder.)
Looks solid, though I feel that the saucer could be slimmed down just a hair to really get that sleekness back. Not much, but just feels a tad too thick.
Lmao the shape is faithful but the Actual design makes more sense for the TMP Shape as the neck section looks Like it Actually has space And the saucer has more Bulk so more decks and space etc. even though it looks bloated it still makes practical sense imo
Any Connie that gets her aesthetics from the Refit is a gorgeous girl. Kelvin Timeline, SNW, TNG Refits they are all gorgeous girls. I've also seen models similar to this design as fan-mods for Star Trek Armada and Armada II... Which were also beautiful girls.
Would like for you to design the star trek equivlant of a small sail boat. Not a big 100ft yacht but something small enough that single person could sale across the ocean without dying. Everyone fantasies about being on a Star Fleet ship such a galaxy-class ship but what nobody really talks about are the space ships for the typical sorta well off person, a small space yacht that you could fit in a pole barn for a 2 week excursion around the solar system.
How about advanced transphasic quantum torpedoes? I don't see why not, we've seen what happens when you get just a regular photon and upgrade it to transphasic capabilities. Surely they have these in the 32nd century since quantum's are standard.
It is a very interesting design, it is somewhat more current, it is not as stylized as the original but I like it, it could be the intermediate step between the 1701-A and the 1701-C
Structurally speaking, the spars supporting the nacelles is still a significant design flaw. Once the shields are penetrated, I know what I'm shooting at.
This has got to be one of the best of 2 Era starship designs I've seen. This is saying something cause I'm not a fan of Connie design I'm more of TNG Era ship design lover but this looks excellent.
Won't fit all the new torpedo launchers, the aft in the neck leaves no room for the turbo-lifts anymore, the aft other aft one is located where the antimatter storage is and the one in the main section is where the main sensors are connected to the main computerframe.
There is something so elegant about this design. You just can't beat the classics.
The rear phasers looked so cool. Double beams. We need to see more battles with this ship!
I used to use this ship constantly in Bridge Commander back in the day, glad to see it getting some love again.
I knew I recognized it from somewhere
The saucer section is a tad bulky for my liking, but overall its a damn fine looking ship. The refit Constitution was always my favorite ship design.
I agree...a bit too chunky. Slim it down a touch & make it sleek & this thing would really be a looker! :)

Dude the Defiant got plastered. I actually dig that look of the updated Refit Connie.
*Wish* this was what we got as the Enterprise G over what we actually got.
Modders keep making amazing ships!! Honestly can’t decide which I like best
lol when we played Starfleet Battles in the 80s, we pictured the Fed CX just like that. And the Reliant in ST 2 was what we pictured for the NCL.
Really great flights. I would love to see this new constitution class up against something like a galaxy class or maybe even a sovereign.
I think an awesome storyline in the normal timeline would be to pull ships out of mothballs after the Dominion war and refit them.
Lower Decks is kinda doing that. Sonya's Archimedes
s is a modified Excelsior.
They were pretty much doing that during the war with the Lakota.

It looked as though you were inside the Devore's shield barrier when you blew a massive crater into it's hull.
The advanced quantums look like the one blue photon torpedo they fired at the asteroid in the wormhole in The Motion Picture.
I thought the same
that was an epic battle it shows the difference between the timelines and I like the sound effects of the advance quantum torpedo's too lol
