The tone of the solo sounds like Neal Schon's on Michael Bolton's "Doc of the bay". Fantastic, great expression! The band did the song some serious, serious, justice, excellent!

Everyone is raving over the guitarist, but the whole band is incredibly solid. Absolutely phenomenal cover with five musicians clearly dedicated to their craft.
That's true, but GOTDANG, that guy is a fantastic guitarist. I don't think anyone is saying anything negative about the band. We're all just watching broham knock it out of the park on the solos.

As a 63 yr old guitar junkie, My brain & ears have renamed Stefan Hauk to Stevie Ray Hauk! That solo is so epic that it is utterly ridiculous! I sub to Stefan’s RUclips channel and he totally crushes on every instrument in ALL genres of music he does cover versions of!

Damn that lead guitarist! Lurching in the background like nothing much is going on then unleashing a passionate tirade of Tone and Melody like a thunder storm. This is what makes this cover extra special and I'm so glad you guys gave him the space to shine. I miss this so much in a good song, expression of another instrument to compliment the lyrics and lead vocals. You have a great sound and ear my friend!

Doesn't matter if that Strat is a 2019 or a '56 model.......Mexican, American or whatever......Dude clearly has the tasty chops and emotional phrasing/maturity to make his guitar expression sing and soar! Extraordinary interpretation, my man!! And, on a pop song no less! LOL! Look at the lead singer reacting to the feeling coming out of the intro lead-in. That intro and middle/end lead runs were worth the price of admission!......A rare RUclips surprise....!!
Yeah, it's not just the tone, as you've pointed out. The solos really sing. They make musical sense. It's like a BB King sense of timing and feel. And i don't usually get much into guitar solos.

I love the guitarist's playing, but this is a pop song (one of the best ever IMHO), it is NOT a blues-oriented song, which is how he played it (he's clearly a fan of SRV, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Larry Carlton, et. al. as I am). Yes, Curt's soloing has some blues-ish vibrato & and some sustained bends that you see in blues, but fundamentally it's a pop song.
Now, don't get me wrong...I absolutely LOVE the blues, but IMHO it's quite out of place in this song, except -perhaps - during the outro. Having said that, I know it's quite possible that this is a blues-oriented band adapting the tune to the blues genre, and if that's the case, they did a fine job. It's also obvious that the entire band has a lot of talent.
Just my opinion & I'm not trying to be nasty here...

He completely misses the most indisputable and distinct point of HSCC. An open-genre based band consisting of talented revolving members interpreting covers of songs. As a guitarist myself, I can't begin to say how much the lead G tapped into that thing I search for every time I pick up a guitar. There's something that transcends clarity and accuracy. This is truly one of the best covers I've ever heard in my life. That lead guitarist is a master of his instrument; incredible tone, fantastic phrasing, perfect placed runs, and I could literally feel the emotion in his playing. I am a musician of 35 years and I am truly floored by this guy's talent. I didn't want either solo to end.

This is one of my all time favorite songs. I didn't want to like this cover as much as I really do. There are so many good things to say about this version. The drummer and bass player are playing perfect pocket. The keys are hitting all the signature voicings. Stefan Hauk on lead, found a way to make the song his own without taking anything away from the song. Love, love ,love everything about the guitar tone. The vocals were all on point. I love the change in the melody. I feel like it made the vocals interesting without changing the feel.
