I bought Ark last year on sale, but I have yet to install it. I had to get a new computer and the SSD is not big enough to hold Ark. I've been planning to upgrade to a 1 TB SSD, but now that they're going to close down the servers, I don't think I'll bother trying out the game...
depends on where you ask. I've been playing on a big cluster that has a pvp and pve cluster, I was playing on pvp but i checked the chat of the pve cluster for fun. It was a bigger drama than anthing I've seen on pvp, simply for the fact that asholes don't have to fear anyone raiding them.

It's not that crazy, I've been playing for 7 years on official. There was a time before cryos, maewings and incubators where my PS4 was running for weeks breeding gigas. Just refreshing all the beds on all the servers takes an hour.
That's the thing about ark. You really do form a bond with your tribe mates, so you really are almost like a family. Its such a special connection. I have never played on official, but I am so sad for everyone that does. I hope u all find a way to continue to play together. And if you do decide to join the unofficial side we will all accept u into our family with open arms.
After being with my husband for 4 years, he's always hated Ark. I had such a huge obsession with it since I was 16, very few of my friends played it, but I turn 23 this year and it was always something I turned to after a long day of work. I finally got my husband to play it five months ago and he quickly fell in love, especially with mods. After server hopping for three months, we bought our own server. He builds like crazy and can fill a whole map if I let him. He builds pens for all my animals and tames me things he knows I love. This game somehow managed to bring my marriage even closer than before. When he saw the news, especially about mods, he was appalled that a company would do this to their playerbase-- but I guess I've been with this game for so long..that I kind of expected it.
You have to understand that all those public servers cost a lot of money to maintain. I don't blame them for ripping the band aid off, better then letting it slowly crumble. I don't think private servers are behind that paywall but I might be mistaken. I have like 4k played so I am not immune my only complaint is if they move this all to unreal 5 and make us pay for it yet never optimize it, then I will be angry.
im 23 im playing ark since my first "boss while learning my future job gimme 50$steam card telling me to buy rust to play with him, i had extra for ark. i was 14. pvp player, i did 1001 fresh wipe, i dnt mind loosing everything if its because im getting raided, even because of cheater, its how ark is but loosing it like that is kinda sad
the mods will take a little time but they will all be back... especially if it was someone that made it into he sponsored mod program at some point the one thats are popular on there will have people updating the mods for ASA with Unreal 5

They are just ripping off their customers by having them to pay again for the same thing in the form of Survival Ascended. And then to rip them off again with ARK 2 shortly later - which I bet will again be buggy for years like everything Wildcard makes.

Uhm. I'd have preferred pvp perspective. Stop showing just pve, plus PvE is so much more toxic. I played for 2 years on pve and the rest since 2015 on pvp. Pvp is genuinely a much nicer community by far. This is just asking people who aren't toxic which is far and few between.
@@MidNightClub2000 I've got a similar mentality to you, but instead of never playing any online games, I just don't get invested in online games. I'll play for a bit with friends, but I always know the day will come where the servers will be gone, or my group will get bored, so I simply enjoy my time with the game while I have it. I've never found an online game that I've been willing to spend hundreds of hours in, I think my most played online game is Among Us at this point and that's only got 99 hours lmfao, so maybe I've just never experienced the level of loss you have.

the sad reality is 80% of the pvp community alr moved to unofficial servers that wipe every month so alot of the community is going to get ASA then theres those ppl who rlly dont care and think it could be a refreshing experience not fighting capped dinos and just being able to breed up creatures from scratch again
Why do you got to look at the negatives this stuff wouldn't happen if people simply made a private server be they did say any worlds made by you will be saved and be playable still on the remake

@@nuneetv I think one of the biggest things to think about is that wildcard hosting the official servers for as long as they have, and as many as they have can’t be cheap, and so few people play on them at the same time compared to unofficial, plus ark is an 8 year old game and it was bound to lose support from wildcard eventually. They are just moving on to new things
All those families playing together is extremly wholesome and makes me happy to see that they add their children to the experience, I remember playing mario kart for the n64 with my mom and dad even though I wasn't even able to handle the computer, I just had fun driving with them. Even later on playing some old strategy games over LAN with my dad, gets me pretty emotional thinking about the last time I really enjoyed some quality time with him is over 10 years ago

Feel what? They are pve players who can't have a base destroyed on top of this all. Their base will be saved in a file for upload to a non dedicated server where they continue their journey of hitting rocks and role-playing with one another.
I’m an avid Ark player. I think people might enjoy these new beginnings. But the fact we’re losing all of the progress and you can’t go back to it is heartbreaking. I start new maps every once in a while for just a sense of wonder and stuff. I will be buying the new bundle when I get more money. Gonna miss the people I met and built with 😢
I have dug 7900 hours into this game in pve I’ve made friends all over the US it’s kept me busy and in good state of mind while in the hospital every other month dew to my cystic fibrosis, I will forever miss this game. I won’t be going on to ark ascended I love ark but I won’t let them money grab my wallet just so I restart everything I’ve worked for, specially when it was supposed to be “FREE” . TY for covering the PVE world ❤
Hearing that little girl clearly emotional made me really sad. She seems really unable to process things. I hope Wildcard sets things straight, but who knows. Financially, they are not doing well, so we simply can't expect them to do what is right for fans.

My son who plays is 6. He just hasn't even attempted to process it. Either he doesn't believe me when I say it's being shut down, or he's just ignoring me to cope.
Its a shame that ARK treats their players like this. I've played a lot but mostly on unofficial or my local server. I do not have great builds I've worked on for years as I seldom played on my own server. It breaks my heart for all the official player who are losing so much. That's a lot of work to make things on official.
ya it sucks that ark is going away, matter a fact this game helped me through the worst time in my life i would come home and leave my problems behind as i played. i have almost 3500 hours 3367 to be honest, so ya i hate it but its what it is. i hope that everyone has enjoyed the game and to my tribe mates thanks for so many wonderful years.

As hardcare rust player with 4k hrs i feel for you guys. As a father i feel for the guy with the wife and daughter alot. But brother, its never been a waste a time. Thank you for showing a glimps of official servers. I would like to say something though. I am sad to see that people seem to think that all private servers spawn their stuff in. This is no more true, then saying all people on official are trolling kids. There are good privately run servers, with good communities. We are out there.
Although we already talked about going a private server for our server, it just isnt the same. We can travel anywhere on any official, we can visit anyone who once left to play on another map, Official is a huge connected server-cluster, doubt there is a scale of that on private servers.
@@karremania You can run/rent your own cluster server. It takes a bit of learning if you wanna run one or more money if your renting but there very much are private clusters.

It's horrible to see how greed can blindly destroy what has clearly been a deeply meaningful experience for these people, and especially that little girl. No amount of money in the world can justify the negation of what they created together. Such a shame.
I've lost all motivation to even play ark, and I play unofficial. I can't imagine being on official, with a definite end date, and we're all gonna lose everything. Even if we all ported everything to single player, those creatures would just sit on there. The part i hate about it is that we have seen nothing for ASA, like yes its supposed to be like ASE but just upgraded. That's still a lot of blank space. It makes me sad and disappointed.
Thank you for making this video for those of us in the official community. I am in the same exact situation after close to 9000 hours in the game and I’m not planning to buy the new games because of the callous disregard of our community. I guess I have a couple of months to grieve the loss before it’s all over.

Felt like a dagger when they said that officials would be shut down. Just imagine all of these pvp mega tribes who stayed up day and night to get tek, breed on 1x rates, farm bosses... all gone
Keep in mind the pvp officials are entirely full of duped tames that have been capped out. They were all bred back when you could glitch all the babies into not needing food. And official is even more full of hacks than every other server, you're better off playing unofficial and getting admin abused
its sad to think that all the progress people have had over the years will be gone, i hope that ARK 1 will retain the ability for private servers and maybe that'll kind of solve some of the sadness (the losing progress is unfortunately unavoidable) but with the communities formed through ark maybe they'll find some unoffiical servers to call home
I feel like, they should at least allow Download of Dinos from official to unofficial and single player so that at least the memorable Dinos can be kept as a memorium
u can download the servers if u want to continue to play or as a memory and u can access that on single player i played official pve for 2yrs i quited bc i akways played solo and it got boring but i had a lot of stuff so yea if i would have forcefully lost it it would be shitty asf

It's actually really heartbreaking to hear all of these people losing their home. I myself have 14,000 hours on ark with about 10,000 of that being official. From the very start to just before extinction came out we were official before we went unofficial. This is by far not a plug so I really hope people don't take it that way but we have an unofficial ark community that has been through all of it. We have our own server box and thus far we're planning to join in with an xbox community once it goes cross platform. Feel free to reach out if you're looking for a home to go to afterwards. We're always welcoming more and despite also not liking where the game is going, we've always put our community first and would love to add anyone to it that wants/needs somewhere to go once official goes down.
@@dont_worry68 Haha yeah at our peak in the extinction days we had over 200 people that played on our servers so it was a lot of admin time/dedication. I miss those days a lot.

WHY AM I CRYING! I've sunk nearly 8 years into this game, my tribe is from all over the world, it's a huge group and we all had so much fun together. Everyone was loving this game and forgave so many slights WC did to the PVE to appease PVP we sucked it up for years... My tribe is the best part of ark. It makes no sense to have this community built in, to have all of this passion squandered by a company who decided to make a sequel that is nothing like the original and then destroy everything built over the years..
I know exactly how they all feel.. teary when the 9 year old girl got on and said it as it is!! Well done WildCard and Snail Games.. this is what you are losing.. the community who made you!!
Thank you, our daughter will be sad to see her favorites go. ARK has taught her a lot about dealing with loss ever since our first Phoenix family massacre at the hands of a T-Rex. It killed all our tames and us. She was 8 at that time, and was almost too much for her. But, she recovered and made sure that our next base was on a cliff side to keep all of her pets same from more carnivores.

If you ever see lawsuits where Chinese companies sue one another, it's their way of funneling CCP money to seemingly disconnected companies. This is why snail games regularly sues TenCent, so that it can get it's next stimulus.

A man and his wife played the game together on I think their own official server and his wife passed away everytime he logs on his wife's chr is there and when I think about this that man is losing everything there that him and his wife did together..... Man how can a company be allowed to be this scummy it's baffling... But as I said idk if I'm correct with this story it's an old story so my memory of it is iffy
I'm keeping my bases updated until the shutdown so I can download the save files... I have 8 bases w/ friends that have died IRL and there's no way I could ever let them decay out. TBH it's the only reason I'm still playing ARK at this point.
A fellow Official PVE player of 5-6 years here. I appreciate this. From my own experience on Official servers it really is a community of families, whether they are actually related or built over time on our respective servers. Overall however, these people are some of the most dedicated and fun people to be around and I love all of the experiences I've had on Official PVE. Definitely sad to see everyone's hard work turn to nothing, especially for those who built for the community in their servers like Krusaedr. Like seriously, his creations alone were built out of sheer love and dedication. Just absolutely phenomenal. Honestly, couldn't help but shed a tear for them. I truly hope the Official community stays together for ASA or Ark 2. Sad to see it all go, but to start fresh with friends and family from old Official could be a fun experience. We'll see. Hope everyone the best out there.

I actually teared up... awesome to see others who have been touched by ARK like I have, it has many faults, but in the end best game I ever played and im an old old gamer so that's sayin something.
Because of this video years from now people will be able to look back and see the passion and dedication the pubs community had and we thank you for that.
man, it sucks knowing all that hard work is going down the drain. especially all those replicas and other bases that guy built. The bred dinos also sucks a lot, but man.. the amount of resources needed to put all that together is staggering. I have 1842.5 hours of game play under my belt on this game on single-player, and i've never built anything half as nice as what a lot of these people have. ugh, and that poor little girl going to be losing her favorite pets as well is heartbreaking. I hope they can all find a nice unofficial server to transfer to with their stuff so they can continue with their Ark 1 game, even if it does mean they have to rebuild their bases, but it's better than losing everything else. That still does suck though. hundreds if not thousands of hours just base building. I don't really have a dog in this fight, as I only play on single player, but I don't plan on upgrading until there's a compelling reason to do so. It's gonna take a lot more than an upgraded engine and graphical upgrade to sway me. Not that Ark AT ALL needs a graphics upgrade in the first place. My biggest gripes with the game is and always will be the installation size, and over all performance. Currently the install size with everything is something like 450 gigs. that's roughly 3-4 times the size of any other games installation. I think if they can trim that down to like 180 gigs with all the DLC and extras, and pitch in a good discount for current owners of Ark:Survival Evolved, I might be tempted. Right now, I kind of have to choose between either just Ark or being able to have multiple games installed at once...Ark... I hate to say it.. isn't good enough to be putting anyone in that position, IMHO. It's good, but it has the potential to be great, if not for the bugs.
I've been playing ark for 6 years, I always played on official servers and I managed to defeat every boss from every map in its Alpha version. I told to myself that ARK ended once I defeated Rockwell prime Alpha on Genesis part 2 map. However, I keep my dinos, and most of dinos of some tribe members who had left the game, just as a remember of everything we faced to reach the "perfect player implant". It is sad to hear this notice, but there is something that wildcard will never be able to wipe... Everything we did and lived during all these years.
I have been playing this game for 5 years and have logged 4,500 hours on this game at least. I have tamed every creature in this game hundreds of times….I’ve played in single player for years along with a private server for 2 years. To me it is heartbreaking to see this game die like this especially because this game got me through some really thought times. This game has meant more to me then most people and it makes me so angry that wildcard would do this. I don’t know if I’m going to get the new ark ascended or ark 2…anyways…..have a nice rest of your day.

I know it sucks to lose everything you worked for. I'm going to miss my Therizino line that I've been breeding since my first playthrough, 2000 hours worth, that I'm still breeding today. But I always enjoyed starting new playthroughs during that time. I've been at end game for a long time in my main playthrough, but it's gets boring that I'm only logging on about once a week or less. Starting fresh and early-mid game has always been the best times I've had.
I've been playing ark since it's alpha on steam. I'm in the same boat as everyone else. The toil, time and dedication involved from everybody is really absolutely impressive. I remember my first home was a box. How much I've learned since then and I remember seeing bases others built and being like "wow" all these hard projects and time gone. I wouldn't expect anything less from wildcard and snail. They've probably never once in their life dedicated to this level to anything

@Pasha zitto forsure, essentially over all the years the player base had enured massive frustrating loss of hour sink through taming, roll backs, character deaths via server crashes, wipes, roll backs, and failed promises. For some reason everyone keeps coming back and wildcard knows this or they would be doing what they are doing now. Earlier we were told the remaster was going to be a thank you to the player base of fans that made ark what it is today by allowing players to basically just transfer their character straight into the remaster which was going to be free btw. The tweet from the head of wild card re-assured fans via a tweet not to worry. Fast forward to having to purchase every over again, no longer free and paired with a game no has scene anything on. Then they re tract yet again after backlash make us pay even more and no longer include ark 2 with the remaster...we can now only play si ngle player and our characters, tames, and all the work over all years gone in August. Chalk it up to completely abusing their fan base and forcing everyone to start over whether they like it or not. It's a huge take it or leave it right now.
I'd like to add that the Next Gen version has made no showcase or given information to players about the state of which it is regarding bugs , glitches and anti cheat tools. No dlc will be released with it either.... Those will come later apparently. In my eyes.... They are selling the exact same game just with an engine upgrade and a fancy new name.... Nothing more or less. That marketing is utterly scandalous. And I'm telling you... If this next gen releases and it has bugs and issues?? The company will be done for. There are a lot of law and regulatory firms that deal with digital marketing watching them closely and circling like sharks.

It hasn't blown up because many like myself instantly uninstalled in disgust at losing 6-8 years of work, the friendships will last to other games but as far as Ark goes it will be something we never play again
that builder is a man after my own heart the only place i ever built a ship was minecraft tho, but the seed has been planted! i played games with my kids as they grew up and now im playin games with my grandsons! i hope everyone finds a way to keep enjoying the community they found in Ark - nice video!

I feel the pain of everyone in this video and community. I've put about 7000 hrs into ark. And been playing since it started and now going to lose it all. I'm ready to start over. I guess I'm one of the few that's not really upset about losing everything. Yea it sucks losing my character levels and dinos but part of the fun in the game was doing all of it. I always played by the motto to never get attached to anything cause you will always lose it somehow on Ark. Ark be Arking. Guess that might be why this isn't bothering me as much lol.
I used to play with a big tribe, but after a few years it started to fall apart, and this whole thing with the upper management making poor business choices that don’t benefit the player base was the final nail in the coffin. Love to see this sort of video though, bittersweet. 💖
After watching this I definitely have a new appreciation & understanding of PvE official players. It's a weird because this was always going to happen at some point but the way it has/is been handled is bad for sure but I'm not really sure what the solution is, extending the servers would only be delaying the enevitable. I just really hope ASA is all it's cracked up to be otherwise that is a HUGE L for all of the ARK community.
PVE is the better game mode and most players are on PVE, I regret playing PVP because I got scared off of PVE because of all the bases in the early spawns, but once you leave those areas the servers are incredibly fun and friendly without any stress, free bosses, free dino lines, just all around a fun experience compared to PVP which is a day job
@@joshcryer You make it sound like PvP is just an infinite L, it really isn't. PvP was fun as shit before cross regional transfers & SE were added. It still has quality moments though
I feel them having played Official 10k+ hours over 8 years with bases on all maps. I have done everything I possibly can do in this game from completing every boss fight to breeding mutations, selling dinos and loosing over 2k+ tames with the closure nothing more for me to do but move on. I wont wont be buying anymore Wild Card titles.
as a modder I have been working on my mods for 8 years now. This upgrade will make 8 years of work useless and for nothing. The 4 years I spent on the update for dragon ark all for nothing because wildcard doesn't allow mod porting because in ASA they are changing up stuff that nobody asked to change which makes it a completely different game. There are so many red flags about this reboot too. The fact they say its coming out in august and haven't shown any screenshots of it all. The fact they say there changing alot about the game itself and the reason they are making a separate game is because people may not like the new changes. The fact all they can show for ark 2 is concept art. Like all these are red flags and wildcard/snail games track record hasn't been the best for releases and delays.

As someone who played the game From early 2020 I was a lil kid the girl with the astroceutus was actually so sad to see Astroceutus are so hard to tame and she had a purple-pink one and last time I checked astroceutus aren’t breedable so she spent hours with her family finding that it’s just so sad to know that everything she worked for will be gone and same with everyone else it doesn’t even matter if it’s a private server offical or unofficial
as people who play on the pvp officials anyway you would think they would be used to loss since its a constant , wake up one morning and someone wrecked in an hour what took you years to build. now the pve players i understand since they would be just having a good time for years and years
Everyone who says "at least they can get the save" alot of this stuff, the builds, the experiences, the tames, it all loses its value if its not on official servers. Its hard to explain to people that dont get it
Hmm maybe not. Snails stocks are doing very poorly... they cant afford it IF people are true to their words and dont update. So it all stands or falls... with the player base.
I have a friend and Twitch streamer called TioKamma. He's 57yo and has 13,600 hours on ARK, most of which were on official servers. He built multiple bases in all maps and was always extremely active, upkeeping his bases and farming resources to expand. Ik right i remember taming my first giga with a friend we lost all of our materiels on it ( it was only lvl 51) still we was very happy the next day it died cause we got raided 😅
You should have interviewed some people from Official PVP like cross arks. Our tribe owners have a collective sum of over 100k hours combined. Our tribe as a whole has over a million hours combined. We are pissed. We will not stand for this. We will make sure Snail Games and Wildcard hear us and will make sure they do the right thing.
I played on Official PVE since June 2019. Started on Valguero556 and met some people that would go on to be my tribemates for the next couple of years. I eventually moved to Crystal Isles 854 and made that my permanent home. Some of my tribe mates passed away during covid, so I made a shrine for them in my base and would always log in to prevent it from decaying. Tomorrow, I finally lose it when the servers shut down. I'm really gonna miss Crystal Isles. I really hope they bring it back in ASA, and it needs to be exactly like how it is now, or even better, but that is the only thing that would convince me to get ASA, so I can rebuild my shrine to my friends exactly where it was before.
I hope this video finds its way to RaasClark too. Let that 9 year old young girl get noticed. Maybe that will cheer her up a bit. I feel so bad all these lovely people who have worked tirelessly on so many amazing things, are just going to lose it all. I hope you all have a great Day/Night
This really captured the love for the game the players have. I've played thousands of hours on Ark official pve, I'm really sad to see it go. Not because of the tames, or the levels, or even the bases really. But the community. Truely, if I had wanted to play a singleplayer Ark then I already would have been on singleplayer instead of multiplayer and a lot of people I've talked to feel the same way. Theres less of a point in singleplayer and I'll probably move to unofficial for a while but its not the same as the servers I've been on for years and doing things for other players to enjoy there for years and seen other players doing things for each other for years. Theres honestly even people that I've never met directly that I will miss. You would be surprised how many people dedicate half their base to helping out other players and its really quite sweet. People make safe areas for new players around the spawns, hotels, crafting spots, trading spots, free gear/armor/saddles, open breeding, open gardens, unlocked taming traps, warm huts in the cold areas, cold huts in the hot areas and open community meeting spots. Collectively, it has to have been thousands of hours people put in just building things for others that they themselves would never use. But all of those things will serve no purpose on a singleplayer map. Its kind of depressing tbh, will just be bones of a community that used to be there. When I first started playing and didn't have anything or know how to play, other players helped me out. And once I got more experienced in the game I started helping out other players too like people helped me. Eventually, i made my own hotel/crafting/open breeding spot last year and every holiday event I leave out the male rare color dinos I tamed for other players to breed with so they can get the cool colors they were looking for but might not have been able to find during the event. Players really do put their heart into the things they make too. Aside from making things for other players or really cool builds, people make tributes to their favorite pets and to other people. On one server I played on there was a graveyard. Not a "dead tames" graveyard, a real person/real pet graveyard. Someone made it for a girl who used to play on our server who died, idk from what. One of her tribemates was an irl friend of hers who told the other people on our server what happened. So someone made a tribute graveyard for her in game since they didn't know her irl and the names of other people/pets who passed away irl that any1 on our server asked to be added to the graveyard (not just players but their family members, friends, pets, and some musicians who passed away) were added to it over time. It was depressing as all hell but I don't think I'd see a player doing that in most other games. Especially since the person who made it has to be on frequently to go render it in so it doesn't despawn. They still are btw, even though the servers shut down in August the graveyard is still there. Sorry if that got really depressing but the point I'm trying to make is that the community is what made this game as great as it was, not the game itself. I would have gotten bored with the game a long time ago if it wasn't for the community. Unfortunately, it seems like the company overlords deemed the community to be the least important thing about Ark when to many of the players, its the MOST Important thing about it. I dont mind the starting over, I understand that nothing lasts forever and eventually would have needed an update or remake or just got discontinued, I get that a company has to pay its employees and to do that they have to charge for their product (not happy about paying for what seems to be the same game twice and would prefer if upgrading was optional) but I would have bought the upgrade and would have bought Ark2 when it released too. I still would play Ark1 just not as frequently. But the way its being handled; suddenly shutting down ASE servers to try to force people to buy a remake and a second game when neither are even ready for release (I do not see having only 2 remade maps at launch in comparison to the 9 maps ASE currently has as being ready for release) The way it sounds in their most recent announcement of the remake also makes it seem like ASA isn't even really meant to be a remake but more of just a beta test of new features they might add to Ark2. Because of this, I can only assume we will have ASA for a year before they shut down multiplayer for that too to force players to buy Ark2 instead. Its shady. And its the shady way they are going about it that makes me not want the new games, not any of the other stuff. Because by doing things the way they have been, they started chasing away the community and the community was the reason I was still playing the game at all.
Today I've empty all my vaults, fridges etc. I have uncryo my 1000+ dinos, I have set them all on wandering/aggressive. My bases will decay in couple weeks but there will be nothing for the vultures! Sad tho, I had more than your standard everything. I had sets of every pure colors of Gigas all top stats, wolves too. I had legit every single creature top stats and almost every pure colors you could imagine. But I'm ngl it felt good dumping everything on the ground and deleting Ark. I won't need to log in anymore so that my base don't disappear. WC finally give me a good reason to stop playing Ark.

That really hits me hard. All the memories that i have from ark. i met my best friend on ark. we shared so many tears and happy moments in this game. we met a lot of good people and the bad were never lasting long. I am so thankful about that gaming experience. however due to the fact that i have no money and this announcement really killed the mood i am not able to buy a ps5, ark 2 or ark ascendant. But i will be forever grateful for this experience and the community :)
iv been playing ark since its release, its my childhood game and i have meet so many friends on it, i knew the server were going to close but this vid was honestly my my last water drop in my bucket, never thought i would cry over losing so many memories i made over the years(i didnt cry for like 6 years to just add to the point of how shit it feels for the players in all communitys). thanks for this video appriciate it even though im part of the more toxic comminity on ark it still feels good to see im not the only sad one about it.
I will say it’s sad that the only players truly affected by this are the pve players. As a pvp player, starting over isn’t new to me at all and I’m honestly very excited for the game but I can understand why the pve players are upset. I will say this though, as much as it sucks to lose everything, I think a lot of y’all will have a lot of fun and create a lot of memories starting over.
I have thousands of hours into ESO and my heart goes out to all of you. I know its just a game but theres alot of things to be greatly missed about playing, the friends made and things created. I can suggest that you record some of your characters with your phone. That's what I've done with my characters in ESO. I know they're going to pull the plug on the game one day so I'm filming and screen shoting everything I can.

i spent almost 2000 hours playing only on official, and didn't really see it coming when they shut it down. they don't even say anything in game about it. i got the snapshot but i still haven't used it for anything

Official Legacy PVE player here (yes I'm old and I suck for not moving before). Been playing Ark since the very start for almost 8 years now and the amount of time spend to build and breed is almost unimaginable, not to mention the constant log in so you won't lose your stuff. Sometimes it did felt like a second job. Over the years I saw a lot of people come and go on my server, met some really toxic and entitled ones as well. But there were some really nice ones as well who helped me a lot. That's why I wanted to give back to the community and make the server a more pleasant place. I try to help new players or returned players who lost all their stuff as much as possible. From giving gear, resources to dinos. The feeling of people being overjoyed by having a giga or a wyvern and having fun with them is amazing! That is what this game should be, to have fun and enjoy it. Even tho it can be a super grind sometimes. It does bum me that all the hard work and the feel of community will be gone. Yes, it is a game and just a bunch of pixels. But those are my pixels that I love and spend a lot of time on. There was a thought among us about trying to run the saved server on unoffical if they release it but we will see. I will proly get the new ASA, but I will definitelly NOT play on official servers. The rates, the time spend from scratch...not worth it.
I know the feeling exactly. I used to play on 429, and put just under 2500 hours into it. When they announced that they'd be wiping the beginner servers, everyone just kind of got together under this one banner of loving Ark and hating Wildcard. So many memories, so many friends, all in the past.

I have thousands of hours across all platforms (yes including mobile) been playing since early access on ps4 I love the game and yhe community has always been incredible. Seeing it in a way die like this is heartbreaking really. A fresh start is cool but also when you have put so many hours into official these arent fellow community members we have built families on these servers and I really hope that they can all reconnect in ASA as much as it sucks that this will be the only way to continue in official. This game really helped me get through alot in my life whether that sounds corny or not idrc but truly my families from official servers are being gutted right now and idk I really hope Wildcard gets their act together and fixes the mess they are making man.
i started playing ark on xbox on day one of early access, and was playing till about a 8 months ago. Watching this is genuinely heartbreaking. I feel for all those who face loosing there bases, animals and hard work. I wish i could have found some of these servers with people so willing to help and be friendly.

depends on where you ask. I've been playing on a big cluster that has a pvp and pve cluster, I was playing on pvp but i checked the chat of the pve cluster for fun. It was a bigger drama than anthing I've seen on pvp, simply for the fact that asholes don't have to fear anyone raiding them.

It's not that crazy, I've been playing for 7 years on official. There was a time before cryos, maewings and incubators where my PS4 was running for weeks breeding gigas. Just refreshing all the beds on all the servers takes an hour.

After being with my husband for 4 years, he's always hated Ark. I had such a huge obsession with it since I was 16, very few of my friends played it, but I turn 23 this year and it was always something I turned to after a long day of work. I finally got my husband to play it five months ago and he quickly fell in love, especially with mods. After server hopping for three months, we bought our own server. He builds like crazy and can fill a whole map if I let him. He builds pens for all my animals and tames me things he knows I love. This game somehow managed to bring my marriage even closer than before. When he saw the news, especially about mods, he was appalled that a company would do this to their playerbase-- but I guess I've been with this game for so long..that I kind of expected it.
You have to understand that all those public servers cost a lot of money to maintain. I don't blame them for ripping the band aid off, better then letting it slowly crumble. I don't think private servers are behind that paywall but I might be mistaken. I have like 4k played so I am not immune my only complaint is if they move this all to unreal 5 and make us pay for it yet never optimize it, then I will be angry.

the mods will take a little time but they will all be back... especially if it was someone that made it into he sponsored mod program at some point the one thats are popular on there will have people updating the mods for ASA with Unreal 5

They are just ripping off their customers by having them to pay again for the same thing in the form of Survival Ascended. And then to rip them off again with ARK 2 shortly later - which I bet will again be buggy for years like everything Wildcard makes.

Uhm. I'd have preferred pvp perspective. Stop showing just pve, plus PvE is so much more toxic. I played for 2 years on pve and the rest since 2015 on pvp. Pvp is genuinely a much nicer community by far. This is just asking people who aren't toxic which is far and few between.

I'll play for a bit with friends, but I always know the day will come where the servers will be gone, or my group will get bored, so I simply enjoy my time with the game while I have it. I've never found an online game that I've been willing to spend hundreds of hours in, I think my most played online game is Among Us at this point and that's only got 99 hours lmfao, so maybe I've just never experienced the level of loss you have.

@@nuneetv I think one of the biggest things to think about is that wildcard hosting the official servers for as long as they have, and as many as they have can’t be cheap, and so few people play on them at the same time compared to unofficial, plus ark is an 8 year old game and it was bound to lose support from wildcard eventually. They are just moving on to new things
All those families playing together is extremly wholesome and makes me happy to see that they add their children to the experience, I remember playing mario kart for the n64 with my mom and dad even though I wasn't even able to handle the computer, I just had fun driving with them. Even later on playing some old strategy games over LAN with my dad, gets me pretty emotional thinking about the last time I really enjoyed some quality time with him is over 10 years ago

I’m an avid Ark player. I think people might enjoy these new beginnings. But the fact we’re losing all of the progress and you can’t go back to it is heartbreaking. I start new maps every once in a while for just a sense of wonder and stuff. I will be buying the new bundle when I get more money. Gonna miss the people I met and built with 😢

I have dug 7900 hours into this game in pve I’ve made friends all over the US it’s kept me busy and in good state of mind while in the hospital every other month dew to my cystic fibrosis, I will forever miss this game. I won’t be going on to ark ascended I love ark but I won’t let them money grab my wallet just so I restart everything I’ve worked for, specially when it was supposed to be “FREE” .

Its a shame that ARK treats their players like this. I've played a lot but mostly on unofficial or my local server. I do not have great builds I've worked on for years as I seldom played on my own server. It breaks my heart for all the official player who are losing so much. That's a lot of work to make things on official.

Thank you for showing a glimps of official servers. I would like to say something though. I am sad to see that people seem to think that all private servers spawn their stuff in. This is no more true, then saying all people on official are trolling kids.

Although we already talked about going a private server for our server, it just isnt the same. We can travel anywhere on any official, we can visit anyone who once left to play on another map, Official is a huge connected server-cluster, doubt there is a scale of that on private servers.

I've lost all motivation to even play ark, and I play unofficial. I can't imagine being on official, with a definite end date, and we're all gonna lose everything. Even if we all ported everything to single player, those creatures would just sit on there. The part i hate about it is that we have seen nothing for ASA, like yes its supposed to be like ASE but just upgraded. That's still a lot of blank space. It makes me sad and disappointed.
There's something so comforting about the fact that people of all ages can take joy from playing Ark without being shamed by the community.

Keep in mind the pvp officials are entirely full of duped tames that have been capped out. They were all bred back when you could glitch all the babies into not needing food. And official is even more full of hacks than every other server, you're better off playing unofficial and getting admin abused

its sad to think that all the progress people have had over the years will be gone, i hope that ARK 1 will retain the ability for private servers and maybe that'll kind of solve some of the sadness (the losing progress is unfortunately unavoidable) but with the communities formed through ark maybe they'll find some unoffiical servers to call home
I feel like, they should at least allow Download of Dinos from official to unofficial and single player so that at least the memorable Dinos can be kept as a memorium

It's actually really heartbreaking to hear all of these people losing their home. I myself have 14,000 hours on ark with about 10,000 of that being official. From the very start to just before extinction came out we were official before we went unofficial. This is by far not a plug so I really hope people don't take it that way but we have an unofficial ark community that has been through all of it. We have our own server box and thus far we're planning to join in with an xbox community once it goes cross platform. Feel free to reach out if you're looking for a home to go to afterwards. We're always welcoming more and despite also not liking where the game is going, we've always put our community first and would love to add anyone to it that wants/needs somewhere to go once official goes down.

WHY AM I CRYING! I've sunk nearly 8 years into this game, my tribe is from all over the world, it's a huge group and we all had so much fun together. Everyone was loving this game and forgave so many slights WC did to the PVE to appease PVP we sucked it up for years... My tribe is the best part of ark. It makes no sense to have this community built in, to have all of this passion squandered by a company who decided to make a sequel that is nothing like the original and then destroy everything built over the years..

Thank you, our daughter will be sad to see her favorites go. ARK has taught her a lot about dealing with loss ever since our first Phoenix family massacre at the hands of a T-Rex. It killed all our tames and us. She was 8 at that time, and was almost too much for her. But, she recovered and made sure that our next base was on a cliff side to keep all of her pets same from more carnivores.

If you ever see lawsuits where Chinese companies sue one another, it's their way of funneling CCP money to seemingly disconnected companies. This is why snail games regularly sues TenCent, so that it can get it's next stimulus.

Hearing all this I was reminded of an old story. A man and his wife played the game together on I think their own official server and his wife passed away everytime he logs on his wife's chr is there and when I think about this that man is losing everything there that him and his wife did together..... Man how can a company be allowed to be this scummy it's baffling... But as I said idk if I'm correct with this story it's an old story so my memory of it is iffy
I'm keeping my bases updated until the shutdown so I can download the save files... I have 8 bases w/ friends that have died IRL and there's no way I could ever let them decay out. TBH it's the only reason I'm still playing ARK at this point.

A fellow Official PVE player of 5-6 years here. I appreciate this. From my own experience on Official servers it really is a community of families, whether they are actually related or built over time on our respective servers. Overall however, these people are some of the most dedicated and fun people to be around and I love all of the experiences I've had on Official PVE. Definitely sad to see everyone's hard work turn to nothing, especially for those who built for the community in their servers like Krusaedr. Like seriously, his creations alone were built out of sheer love and dedication. Just absolutely phenomenal. Honestly, couldn't help but shed a tear for them.
I truly hope the Official community stays together for ASA or Ark 2. Sad to see it all go, but to start fresh with friends and family from old Official could be a fun experience. We'll see.

man, it sucks knowing all that hard work is going down the drain. especially all those replicas and other bases that guy built. The bred dinos also sucks a lot, but man.. the amount of resources needed to put all that together is staggering. I have 1842.5 hours of game play under my belt on this game on single-player, and i've never built anything half as nice as what a lot of these people have. ugh, and that poor little girl going to be losing her favorite pets as well is heartbreaking. I hope they can all find a nice unofficial server to transfer to with their stuff so they can continue with their Ark 1 game, even if it does mean they have to rebuild their bases, but it's better than losing everything else. That still does suck though. hundreds if not thousands of hours just base building.
I don't really have a dog in this fight, as I only play on single player, but I don't plan on upgrading until there's a compelling reason to do so. It's gonna take a lot more than an upgraded engine and graphical upgrade to sway me. Not that Ark AT ALL needs a graphics upgrade in the first place. My biggest gripes with the game is and always will be the installation size, and over all performance. Currently the install size with everything is something like 450 gigs. that's roughly 3-4 times the size of any other games installation. I think if they can trim that down to like 180 gigs with all the DLC and extras, and pitch in a good discount for current owners of Ark:Survival Evolved, I might be tempted. Right now, I kind of have to choose between either just Ark or being able to have multiple games installed at once...Ark... I hate to say it.. isn't good enough to be putting anyone in that position, IMHO. It's good, but it has the potential to be great, if not for the bugs.
I've been playing ark for 6 years, I always played on official servers and I managed to defeat every boss from every map in its Alpha version. I told to myself that ARK ended once I defeated Rockwell prime Alpha on Genesis part 2 map. However, I keep my dinos, and most of dinos of some tribe members who had left the game, just as a remember of everything we faced to reach the "perfect player implant". It is sad to hear this notice, but there is something that wildcard will never be able to wipe... Everything we did and lived during all these years.
I have been playing this game for 5 years and have logged 4,500 hours on this game at least. I have tamed every creature in this game hundreds of times….I’ve played in single player for years along with a private server for 2 years. To me it is heartbreaking to see this game die like this especially because this game got me through some really thought times. This game has meant more to me then most people and it makes me so angry that wildcard would do this. I don’t know if I’m going to get the new ark ascended or ark 2…anyways…..have a nice rest of your day.

I know it sucks to lose everything you worked for. I'm going to miss my Therizino line that I've been breeding since my first playthrough, 2000 hours worth, that I'm still breeding today. But I always enjoyed starting new playthroughs during that time. I've been at end game for a long time in my main playthrough, but it's gets boring that I'm only logging on about once a week or less. Starting fresh and early-mid game has always been the best times I've had.
I've been playing ark since it's alpha on steam. I'm in the same boat as everyone else. The toil, time and dedication involved from everybody is really absolutely impressive. I remember my first home was a box. How much I've learned since then and I remember seeing bases others built and being like "wow" all these hard projects and time gone. I wouldn't expect anything less from wildcard and snail. They've probably never once in their life dedicated to this level to anything

@Pasha zitto forsure, essentially over all the years the player base had enured massive frustrating loss of hour sink through taming, roll backs, character deaths via server crashes, wipes, roll backs, and failed promises. For some reason everyone keeps coming back and wildcard knows this or they would be doing what they are doing now. Earlier we were told the remaster was going to be a thank you to the player base of fans that made ark what it is today by allowing players to basically just transfer their character straight into the remaster which was going to be free btw. The tweet from the head of wild card re-assured fans via a tweet not to worry.
Fast forward to having to purchase every over again, no longer free and paired with a game no has scene anything on. Then they re tract yet again after backlash make us pay even more and no longer include ark 2 with the remaster...we can now only play si ngle player and our characters, tames, and all the work over all years gone in August.
Chalk it up to completely abusing their fan base and forcing everyone to start over whether they like it or not. It's a huge take it or leave it right now.
I'd like to add that the Next Gen version has made no showcase or given information to players about the state of which it is regarding bugs , glitches and anti cheat tools. No dlc will be released with it either.... Those will come later apparently. In my eyes.... They are selling the exact same game just with an engine upgrade and a fancy new name.... Nothing more or less. That marketing is utterly scandalous. And I'm telling you... If this next gen releases and it has bugs and issues?? The company will be done for. There are a lot of law and regulatory firms that deal with digital marketing watching them closely and circling like sharks.

I feel the pain of everyone in this video and community. I've put about 7000 hrs into ark. And been playing since it started and now going to lose it all. I'm ready to start over. I guess I'm one of the few that's not really upset about losing everything. Yea it sucks losing my character levels and dinos but part of the fun in the game was doing all of it. I always played by the motto to never get attached to anything cause you will always lose it somehow on Ark. Ark be Arking. Guess that might be why this isn't bothering me as much lol.

I used to play with a big tribe, but after a few years it started to fall apart, and this whole thing with the upper management making poor business choices that don’t benefit the player base was the final nail in the coffin.

After watching this I definitely have a new appreciation & understanding of PvE official players. It's a weird because this was always going to happen at some point but the way it has/is been handled is bad for sure but I'm not really sure what the solution is, extending the servers would only be delaying the enevitable. I just really hope ASA is all it's cracked up to be otherwise that is a HUGE L for all of the ARK community.
PVE is the better game mode and most players are on PVE, I regret playing PVP because I got scared off of PVE because of all the bases in the early spawns, but once you leave those areas the servers are incredibly fun and friendly without any stress, free bosses, free dino lines, just all around a fun experience compared to PVP which is a day job

I feel them having played Official 10k+ hours over 8 years with bases on all maps. I have done everything I possibly can do in this game from completing every boss fight to breeding mutations, selling dinos and loosing over 2k+ tames with the closure nothing more for me to do but move on. I wont wont be buying anymore Wild Card titles.

as a modder I have been working on my mods for 8 years now. This upgrade will make 8 years of work useless and for nothing. The 4 years I spent on the update for dragon ark all for nothing because wildcard doesn't allow mod porting because in ASA they are changing up stuff that nobody asked to change which makes it a completely different game.
There are so many red flags about this reboot too. The fact they say its coming out in august and haven't shown any screenshots of it all. The fact they say there changing alot about the game itself and the reason they are making a separate game is because people may not like the new changes. The fact all they can show for ark 2 is concept art. Like all these are red flags and wildcard/snail games track record hasn't been the best for releases and delays.
This move from their end must have hit you hard aswell. I am truelly sorry for the loss of your hard work.

As someone who played the game From early 2020 I was a lil kid the girl with the astroceutus was actually so sad to see Astroceutus are so hard to tame and she had a purple-pink one and last time I checked astroceutus aren’t breedable so she spent hours with her family finding that it’s just so sad to know that everything she worked for will be gone and same with everyone else it doesn’t even matter if it’s a private server offical or unofficial
as people who play on the pvp officials anyway you would think they would be used to loss since its a constant , wake up one morning and someone wrecked in an hour what took you years to build. now the pve players i understand since they would be just having a good time for years and years
We actually play on Offical PVE servers so they're usually communities that help each other out.

I have a friend and Twitch streamer called TioKamma. He's 57yo and has 13,600 hours on ARK, most of which were on official servers.
He built multiple bases in all maps and was always extremely active, upkeeping his bases and farming resources to expand.
That's 13,600 hours that are going to disappear without any form of recovery, if only they allowed us to download the maps from the servers to keep them locally or make an archive.
He's fine with the change and said it's best for the game that it gets reset but still losing everything must be very hard.
The woman with the salmon in the background said everything I would have and had 3x the time I put into ark. I kinda teared up hearing them talk about it

Ik right i remember taming my first giga with a friend we lost all of our materiels on it ( it was only lvl 51) still we was very happy the next day it died cause we got raided 😅
You should have interviewed some people from Official PVP like cross arks. Our tribe owners have a collective sum of over 100k hours combined. Our tribe as a whole has over a million hours combined. We are pissed. We will not stand for this. We will make sure Snail Games and Wildcard hear us and will make sure they do the right thing.
I played on Official PVE since June 2019. Started on Valguero556 and met some people that would go on to be my tribemates for the next couple of years.
I eventually moved to Crystal Isles 854 and made that my permanent home. Some of my tribe mates passed away during covid, so I made a shrine for them in my base and would always log in to prevent it from decaying. Tomorrow, I finally lose it when the servers shut down.
I'm really gonna miss Crystal Isles. I really hope they bring it back in ASA, and it needs to be exactly like how it is now, or even better, but that is the only thing that would convince me to get ASA, so I can rebuild my shrine to my friends exactly where it was before.

It's a video game ROFL! and servers don't pay themselves. Some of you folks are a bit over-dramatic about this and it shows.
This really captured the love for the game the players have. I've played thousands of hours on Ark official pve, I'm really sad to see it go. Not because of the tames, or the levels, or even the bases really. But the community. Truely, if I had wanted to play a singleplayer Ark then I already would have been on singleplayer instead of multiplayer and a lot of people I've talked to feel the same way. Theres less of a point in singleplayer and I'll probably move to unofficial for a while but its not the same as the servers I've been on for years and doing things for other players to enjoy there for years and seen other players doing things for each other for years. Theres honestly even people that I've never met directly that I will miss. You would be surprised how many people dedicate half their base to helping out other players and its really quite sweet. People make safe areas for new players around the spawns, hotels, crafting spots, trading spots, free gear/armor/saddles, open breeding, open gardens, unlocked taming traps, warm huts in the cold areas, cold huts in the hot areas and open community meeting spots. Collectively, it has to have been thousands of hours people put in just building things for others that they themselves would never use. But all of those things will serve no purpose on a singleplayer map. Its kind of depressing tbh, will just be bones of a community that used to be there.
When I first started playing and didn't have anything or know how to play, other players helped me out. And once I got more experienced in the game I started helping out other players too like people helped me. Eventually, i made my own hotel/crafting/open breeding spot last year and every holiday event I leave out the male rare color dinos I tamed for other players to breed with so they can get the cool colors they were looking for but might not have been able to find during the event.
Players really do put their heart into the things they make too. Aside from making things for other players or really cool builds, people make tributes to their favorite pets and to other people. On one server I played on there was a graveyard. Not a "dead tames" graveyard, a real person/real pet graveyard. Someone made it for a girl who used to play on our server who died, idk from what. One of her tribemates was an irl friend of hers who told the other people on our server what happened. So someone made a tribute graveyard for her in game since they didn't know her irl and the names of other people/pets who passed away irl that any1 on our server asked to be added to the graveyard (not just players but their family members, friends, pets, and some musicians who passed away) were added to it over time. It was depressing as all hell but I don't think I'd see a player doing that in most other games. Especially since the person who made it has to be on frequently to go render it in so it doesn't despawn. They still are btw, even though the servers shut down in August the graveyard is still there.
Sorry if that got really depressing but the point I'm trying to make is that the community is what made this game as great as it was, not the game itself. I would have gotten bored with the game a long time ago if it wasn't for the community. Unfortunately, it seems like the company overlords deemed the community to be the least important thing about Ark when to many of the players, its the MOST Important thing about it.
I dont mind the starting over, I understand that nothing lasts forever and eventually would have needed an update or remake or just got discontinued, I get that a company has to pay its employees and to do that they have to charge for their product (not happy about paying for what seems to be the same game twice and would prefer if upgrading was optional) but I would have bought the upgrade and would have bought Ark2 when it released too. I still would play Ark1 just not as frequently. But the way its being handled; suddenly shutting down ASE servers to try to force people to buy a remake and a second game when neither are even ready for release (I do not see having only 2 remade maps at launch in comparison to the 9 maps ASE currently has as being ready for release) The way it sounds in their most recent announcement of the remake also makes it seem like ASA isn't even really meant to be a remake but more of just a beta test of new features they might add to Ark2. Because of this, I can only assume we will have ASA for a year before they shut down multiplayer for that too to force players to buy Ark2 instead. Its shady. And its the shady way they are going about it that makes me not want the new games, not any of the other stuff. Because by doing things the way they have been, they started chasing away the community and the community was the reason I was still playing the game at all.
Today I've empty all my vaults, fridges etc. I have uncryo my 1000+ dinos, I have set them all on wandering/aggressive. My bases will decay in couple weeks but there will be nothing for the vultures! Sad tho, I had more than your standard everything. I had sets of every pure colors of Gigas all top stats, wolves too. I had legit every single creature top stats and almost every pure colors you could imagine. But I'm ngl it felt good dumping everything on the ground and deleting Ark. I won't need to log in anymore so that my base don't disappear. WC finally give me a good reason to stop playing Ark.

All the memories that i have from ark. i met my best friend on ark. we shared so many tears and happy moments in this game. we met a lot of good people and the bad were never lasting long. I am so thankful about that gaming experience. however due to the fact that i have no money and this announcement really killed the mood i am not able to buy a ps5, ark 2 or ark ascendant. But i will be forever grateful for this experience and the community :)

iv been playing ark since its release, its my childhood game and i have meet so many friends on it, i knew the server were going to close but this vid was honestly my my last water drop in my bucket, never thought i would cry over losing so many memories i made over the years(i didnt cry for like 6 years to just add to the point of how shit it feels for the players in all communitys). thanks for this video appriciate it even though im part of the more toxic comminity on ark it still feels good to see im not the only sad one about it.
I will say it’s sad that the only players truly affected by this are the pve players. As a pvp player, starting over isn’t new to me at all and I’m honestly very excited for the game but I can understand why the pve players are upset. I will say this though, as much as it sucks to lose everything, I think a lot of y’all will have a lot of fun and create a lot of memories starting over.

I have thousands of hours into ESO and my heart goes out to all of you. I know its just a game but theres alot of things to be greatly missed about playing, the friends made and things created.
I can suggest that you record some of your characters with your phone. That's what I've done with my characters in ESO. I know they're going to pull the plug on the game one day so I'm filming and screen shoting everything I can.
I think I have the deepest condolences for the guy you interviewed at the end who built the bridge and all that stuff and they're just going to delete 10,000 hours of his
They're not deleting anyone's stuff. They're shutting down servers
@@freakbag420 yes and in shutting down the official servers the people who've been playing on official who've got like the guy with 10,000 hours built the bridge unless he pays an extra bit of money to rent his server to transfer his stuff it will be deleted so yes there's stuff is getting deleted their hard work they put in is getting deleted.
@@kylehalliburton6259 you don't need to rent servers to keep your stuff. You just download the file and load it in single player
i spent almost 2000 hours playing only on official, and didn't really see it coming when they shut it down. they don't even say anything in game about it. i got the snapshot but i still haven't used it for anything
Yooooo this is great. Such a bonded community. I'm sad I didn't get in this early. But also bittersweet that is all going to be reset even for a newbie like me. That's just sad.

Man, i cant imgaine what it must be like for those guys and girls to loose all their progress after so many hours. I love that you give them the possbility to show off their amazing builds one last time. (Titanic dude, you are soawesome at building man!) Official Legacy PVE player here (yes I'm old and I suck for not moving before). Been playing Ark since the very start for almost 8 years now and the amount of time spend to build and breed is almost unimaginable, not to mention the constant log in so you won't lose your stuff. Sometimes it did felt like a second job. Over the years I saw a lot of people come and go on my server, met some really toxic and entitled ones as well. But there were some really nice ones as well who helped me a lot. That's why I wanted to give back to the community and make the server a more pleasant place. I try to help new players or returned players who lost all their stuff as much as possible. From giving gear, resources to dinos. The feeling of people being overjoyed by having a giga or a wyvern and having fun with them is amazing! That is what this game should be, to have fun and enjoy it. Even tho it can be a super grind sometimes. It does bum me that all the hard work and the feel of community will be gone. Yes, it is a game and just a bunch of pixels. But those are my pixels that I love and spend a lot of time on. There was a thought among us about trying to run the saved server on unoffical if they release it but we will see. I will proly get the new ASA, but I will definitelly NOT play on official servers. The rates, the time spend from scratch...not worth it.
I know the feeling exactly. I used to play on 429, and put just under 2500 hours into it. When they announced that they'd be wiping the beginner servers, everyone just kind of got together under this one banner of loving Ark and hating Wildcard. So many memories, so many friends, all in the past.

On a serious note. I have thousands of hours across all platforms (yes including mobile) been playing since early access on ps4 I love the game and yhe community has always been incredible. Seeing it in a way die like this is heartbreaking really. A fresh start is cool but also when you have put so many hours into official these arent fellow community members we have built families on these servers and I really hope that they can all reconnect in ASA as much as it sucks that this will be the only way to continue in official. This game really helped me get through alot in my life whether that sounds corny or not idrc but truly my families from official servers are being gutted right now and idk I really hope Wildcard gets their act together and fixes the mess they are making man.
i started playing ark on xbox on day one of early access, and was playing till about a 8 months ago. Watching this is genuinely heartbreaking. I feel for all those who face loosing there bases, animals and hard work. I wish i could have found some of these servers with people so willing to help and be friendly.
Now a lot confusion about giving you my sheep to name it your discord and get in touch with the family makes sense.
Hope the kid got in touch with the favourite youtuber in the end.

He'll, I would be willing to pay a small annual fee to keep my server open. My wife, 2 sons and I all play on it and we have made some very special friends on it as well.
