Sandman from spider man 2
My favourite video gamefirst boss is Knuckledragger from Borderlands 2 because he has a chance to drop the legendary Hornet pistol, which is one of the best op pistols in the game, especially at the start of the game if he drops it.
“You challenge me mortal? A GOD OF OLYMPUS!” this line has been stuck in my head since 2010 and to me it’s action games at its finest… a lot came close but nothing matched this iconic line and the bombastic buildup of this fight… it’s eternally peak and will forever be my fav prologue ever

Moment when Thor kills you and brings Kratos back to life is pretty epic even if he's not the first boss in GOWR
No Kamoshida from Persona 5? While it's from an RPG, it does make a good impression in a narrative point of view. This is a boss that you hate since you came face to face with him and the ongoing beatdown with him is so satisfying.
The Sandman fight in Spiderman 2 was crazy. Maybe it was just how cinematic and stunning the visuals were.

Every first boss that looks really intimidating, remember, it’s the tutorial boss. It’s gets worse from there!
Also that scene, 11:11, still gives me goosebumps today!

The sandman fight in Spider-Man 2 and Deathstroke fight in Batman Arkham origins were good ones too
Killer Croc was the first boss in Arkham Origins, not Deathstroke. Croc is still fun though, escaping from his bite and making him drop fuel canisters on himself.

The Parasite Queen is just the perfect build to a first boss fight, and also the theme is just SO ICONIC, Im beyond hyped for Prime 4
GOW 3 has always been my favorite in the franchise. 💪

Taking him down, after everything he did to Ryuji, Ann, Shiho, Mishima, and Joker, is peak catharsis, and it pretty much ensures you'll be cheering on those kids to the very end.
My favorite Boss is Parasite queen from Metroid prime on GameCube.
While I’m not the biggest fan of the whole game, Sandman from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 should’ve really been on here
For me Colgera from Zelda:tears of the kingdom was peak first boss! Especially the music for the boss battle
It’s a great boss, but the issue is that it’s not a “first” boss. It certainly can be, but by the nature of it being an open world game, people could have also fought the Gibdo Queen, the Marbled Gohma, or the Mucktorok first, even IF the game incentivizes you to go to Rito village first

I remember in Ninja Gaiden, the first boss was this jacked dude who had nunchucks. And he wasn't easy, even as a first boss. It was from there that u decided to keep playing or that the game wasn't for you lol

One lesser known but memorable first boos is the Kiselev Aggressor in The Red Star.
Iudex Gundyr deserves a spot on this list.
I honestly think wyzen from asuras wrath should have been number 1. Between asura remembering his past and his imprisonment during the fight to the simple fact that it just keeps escalating and wyzen grows to the size of a freaking planet in his final moments, to the “come at me bro!” Gesture of Asura as he stops wyzens finger and proceeds to punch him into oblivion. Sheer epicness on a scale I’ve never seen from any game before or since
I hate That guys GHIRAHIM from the legend of Zelda skyward sword on the Wii.
Don't forget Scorpion Sentinel Guard because that First Boss of FFVII Remake kicked off with a BANG [as in Mako Reactor Explosion] around New Year 2023

The best first boss in video games. Objectively, Great Mighty Poo takes that cake. Though Ghirahim from Skyward Sword is also amazing.

@@BigAlvideos101 Every playthrough I played has Great Mighty Poo being before Haybot. And I played through this game a lot. And in fact, a quick look at NintendoCapriSun's LP; the best LP there is of that game. He encountered GMP before Haybot.
@@darkdragonmedeus705 Haybot is literally the boss of the first world you go to in the game, so unless you can do things out of order (and you can't), then Haybot would be the first boss you face! GMP isn't until MUCH later in the game!

While father gascoigne is the best presented first boss i've ever seen, i think mezuki from nioh 2 is the best first boss mechanically
Between: Iudex Gundir, Gyobu Oniwa, Margit the Fell and Father Gascoigne... you pick asylum demon? Asylum demon is one of the worst possible picks out of any soulsborne (only Vanguard and Last Giant are worse).
I'd go with Gungir.

Hello where's sandman from Spiderman 2
Am I the only one that actually thinks Girahim makes for a weak starter boss in the Zelda franchise? He was boring as sin, his design (in terms of visual and personality) felt like a fashion relic of the time he was in, BEFORE it had even passed over completely and extremely repetitive. I genuinely groan every time his sections of the game approaches cause I seriously can't stand him. The game does it's best to make him come across as intimidating in some sense, but it's more like facing some pre-teen brat who's trying so hard to impress daddy-kins.
First boss fight for me though? The mist dragon in final fantasy IV. Pretty standard on it's own, I suppose, until you learn of the devestating result from it's death.
