Hey Doc, I am an Indian and most people living in agricultural states of India are vegetarian. I too am one of those and my blood group is O+ too. What should my diet consists of?
As someone with blood type O+ and a vegetarian diet, you can still maintain a balanced and nutrient-rich diet. Type O individuals are traditionally thought to thrive on higher protein diets, often including meat, but since you're vegetarian, you can adapt by focusing on plant-based sources of protein, iron, and other essential nutrients. Here's what your diet should include: Protein Sources: Legumes: Lentils, chickpeas, black beans, and kidney beans are excellent sources of plant-based protein. Soy Products: Tofu, tempeh, and edamame are rich in protein and can be a good meat substitute. Dairy and Eggs: If you include dairy and eggs in your vegetarian diet, these are great sources of protein and other essential nutrients. Nuts and Seeds: Almonds, walnuts, chia seeds, and flaxseeds provide protein, healthy fats, and other important nutrients. Iron-Rich Foods: Leafy Greens: Spinach, fenugreek (methi), and mustard greens (sarson) are packed with iron. Pulses: Moong dal, masoor dal, and chana dal are iron-rich and staples in Indian vegetarian diets. Fortified Cereals: Some cereals and grains are fortified with iron and can be a good addition to your diet. Dried Fruits: Dates, raisins, and apricots are not only tasty but also good sources of iron. Vitamin B12 and D: Fortified Foods: Since Vitamin B12 and D are often lacking in vegetarian diets, consider fortified plant milks, cereals, or supplements. Dairy Products: Milk, yogurt, and cheese can provide B12 if you're lacto-vegetarian. Calcium and Omega-3: Leafy Greens: Spinach, collard greens, and kale are good for calcium. Flaxseeds and Chia Seeds: Excellent sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for heart and brain health. General Tips: Pairing Foods: Combine iron-rich foods with vitamin C sources like citrus fruits, tomatoes, or bell peppers to enhance absorption. Balanced Meals: Ensure that each meal includes a good balance of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to support digestion and overall health. By focusing on these nutrient-dense foods, you can maintain a healthy, balanced vegetarian diet that supports your overall well-being and energy levels. ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/
That sounds like inflammatory hair loss. I'm assuming that there's probably some underlying issue like digestion or medication or allergies that are exacerbating the situation. Also be a massive nutritional deficiency as well.
I’m also dealing with gray hair from the last 3 years and when my scalp itch and i try to rub it sometimes it hurts.I have no digestion issues nor allergies but I’m on Accutane from last 4 months.
So seborrheic dermatitis is common amongst African Americans, and so is Vitamin D deficiency (of which I've read we require more of than other races). Im curious if they are related.
Hi, doctor please reply my concern many dermatologist say don't oil your scalp if you have sebhorric dermatitis i used to oil with coconut oil but my hair fall was always extreme.
What if you have a genetic immunodeficiency or an acquired one where your body cannot correct itself? I have NK cell deficiency with co-occurring b cell issues. This condition was undiagnosed until I caught cold sores in adulthood. It is so rare that doctors do not have a treatment protocol yet and keep passing me around like a hot potato. One of the first signs was overnight severe seb derm on my face and scalp along with unremitting cold sores and yeast infections. I've tried almost every shampoo and like you said, it only holds it back for so long. I tried coconut oil and it made it worse. (I think the yeast ate it.). To this day I cannot use most skincare products because of MCAS and chemical sensitivity issues. I will look into your diet recommendations. I had not heard of them. Most doctors are not only dismissive about my hair loss, but also the constant cold sores and infections because they see it as "cosmetic."
So my blood type is A+...and coconut is on the avoid list. Is it okay if i drink caprylic acid ?....I wont be going against my recommended blood type A diet ??
Sir could u please answer my question? I just wanted to ask that will coconut oil be good for my oily/greasy scalp? As I have heard that coconut oil clogs pores more of an oily scalp which will make its greasiness worse and resulting in severe hair loss, Could you tell me what do please 🙏🏻
Coconut oil can indeed be beneficial for the scalp, but its suitability largely depends on individual scalp conditions and reactions. For someone with an oily or greasy scalp, the concern about coconut oil potentially clogging pores and exacerbating greasiness and hair loss is valid. Coconut oil is known for its moisturizing properties, which can be too heavy for those with already oily scalps, potentially leading to clogged pores and increased hair loss. However, coconut oil also contains caprylic acid, a medium-chain fatty acid with antifungal properties, which can help combat dandruff by targeting yeast growth on the scalp. If you're considering using coconut oil, you might want to try it in a small amount to see how your scalp reacts. Using it as a pre-shampoo treatment rather than leaving it on your scalp for extended periods may minimize any negative effects on oily scalp conditions. In the context of dandruff treatment, focusing on internal health and balancing the scalp's microbiome is crucial. Ensuring adequate vitamin D3 levels, as mentioned, supports the immune system and can help manage dandruff more effectively. Dietary adjustments, including the intake of caprylic acid through coconut oil or other sources, can also support a healthy scalp from the inside out. For your specific concern with an oily/greasy scalp, it might be beneficial to explore lightweight, non-comedogenic oils or treatments that regulate oil production without heavy residue. Additionally, maintaining a diet that supports your overall health and specifically your scalp can make a significant difference. Eating right for your blood type, as suggested, could help balance your body's immune response and potentially reduce scalp issues. If you're unsure about the best approach for your scalp type, consulting with a trichologist or dermatologist can provide personalized advice. They can recommend treatments and products tailored to your specific needs, ensuring you don't exacerbate your scalp's oiliness while addressing dandruff. o convert nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL) to international units (IU), you need to know the specific substance being measured, as the conversion depends on the molecular weight and potency of that substance. For example, if you’re asking about vitamin D: Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol): 1 ng/mL of vitamin D3 is approximately equal to 2.5 IU. So, if you want to convert 60-80 ng/mL to IU: 60 ng/mL would be approximately 150 IU/mL. 80 ng/mL would be approximately 200 IU/mL.
It's generally a good idea to monitor certain vitamin levels, including vitamin A, before starting supplementation, especially for an extended period like 3 months. Here's why: Vitamin A Toxicity: Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin, meaning it can accumulate in your body over time. Taking it in high doses without monitoring can lead to toxicity, which can cause symptoms like nausea, dizziness, headaches, and even more serious issues like liver damage or bone thinning. Baseline Levels: Without a blood test, there's no way to know your baseline vitamin A levels. If your levels are already sufficient, supplementation might not be necessary and could potentially lead to excessive levels. Follow-up Testing: After a period of supplementation, it's often recommended to do follow-up testing to ensure your levels are within a healthy range and to adjust the dosage if needed. While your doctor may have assessed your situation and determined that testing wasn't necessary, it’s generally safer to have your levels checked, especially if you plan to take vitamin A for several months. You might want to discuss this with your doctor to ensure that your supplementation is both safe and effective. ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/
