The producers of this show made a huge mistake in not making Officer Sandra Wells a part of the Five 0 team. Not only is she attractive and smart but she would have been a valuable asset doing undercover work as a woman can go places that a man can't. As a woman, she would not attract as much attention as a man when she's doing an investigation. How they missed this obvious use of putting this character into the show is beyond me.
At the top of my head I'm thinking it's possible that Amanda didn't get along with Jack Lord so no such idea of her having her having more parts surfaced. Remember he had much control over the show. And then maybe it had nothing to do with her or Jack. Jack only answered to one and that was the network (CBS)
Jack Lord disappeared from his fans, however, if you traveled to Hawaii as a tourist. You may see the man with his wife with his paintings for sale on the boardwalk. Jack Lord loved Hawaii help to make it a tourist attraction by playing Steve McGarett on Hawaii 5 0. Aloha!!.
When I see Steve had a broken arm.I remember many years ago when I was boy a small boy fell from a medium high tree. He broke his right arm.During that time medical expertise and equipment was not sophistcated as today. His father had to put back his arm in postion manually. It was a very terrible experience for him.
Amanda McBroom was one attractive lady and they should have made her a permanent part on the show even if she didn't appear in every episode. In another episode the great John Ritter plays her brother who's a problem gambler in trouble with the wrong people.
If you watched this series, you'd know this was completely out of character for him. He would start by asking what she knew, if she knew, before laying into her like that.
Sandi looks more like an airline stewardess than a cop because of her hat which I kind of like anyway. But where does she carry her gun and other equipment? There's no long shot of her so we can't see where she carries the tools of her trade. Maybe in her bag but it would take too long to get to them if she needed them in a hurry.
Yes they did wear that outfit. Hawaii didn't allow women on patrol till later in the decade. I believe it was around the same time LAPD started adding women officers to patrol duty. She was a cutie I'll say that! :-)
@@shamrock1961 Policewomen in Hawaii certainly did not ever wear caps like this one, particularly with their badges pinned to them. When I took my driving test in Honolulu in January 1971, the examiner was a policewoman, and as I remember she wore a blue short-sleeved shirt - no jacket - and a dark blue skirt. P. S. I passed my driving test.
They should have made her a series regular. Not as McGarrett’s driver, but as a full-fledged member of 5-0.

The male atititude of the day.
@@sandrabarnwell8017 They werent woke!
She didn't need to be a regular. Perhaps an occasional undercover op would have been fine.
i heard touché. Jack Lord a perfectionist in every way and Hawaii was lucky to have him as a permanent resident
Mr McGarrett said Touche. Magnificent 😍
Jack Lord/Steve McGarrett ...great actor, classy, calm gentleman.
Yes. He. Is. Wow, he. Knew. How. To. Say. He, was. Wrong. Now. That's, class. That's. Hard. To. Follow wow
The guy at 2:03 did not tell Officer Sandra Wells "I'm sorry, miss" as if he meant it.
The tone that he used was a very bitter tone and wanted to leave the office faster.
At approximately 3:20 Steve McGarrett realizes that what Sandra Wells said was honest and he not only tossed to her the keys to the car but also hired her on the spot so that she can pick him up at his house the next day with a nice smile and she told him "Thank you" with the friendliest smile that there is.

If more husbands sincerely apologized to their wives, this would be a better world.
So too if wives apologized to their husbands more often!
Is Sandra the same lady who.played jack trippers sister on a season 8 episode? She kinda looks like it
Yes

Like Steve McGarrett found out it wasn't Officer Sandra Wells that blew up Billy's car but someone else and Steve McGarrett realizes that it is better to ask a question rather than of an accusation.

It always seemed like Sandy had a crush on McGarrett. Too bad she wasn't in more episodes. She should of become a regular on the show.
Deep down, Sandy was attracted to Steve McGarrett and vice versa.
Youcan be my driver! Big fing deal!!🤣🤣
Hi, Her name is Amanda McBroom.

w520520:
How long did Amanda McBroom play the role of HPD Officer Sandra Wells?
MacGarrett looking much older in this episode. Maybe this episode few years nearly coming to the 1980.
"Pick me up at my apartment" is not a good idea, Steve. Keep your distance buddy.
It is actually H50 S8 E17 which is "Loose Ends Get Hit." H50 S8 E18 is "Anatomy of a Bribe". Otherwise great scene!
The uniform is beautiful .. she looks like a lady,
It should read 'Touche' my apologies, not 'Too shame'
Ditto from me.
Ahhh...Virtue Signaling before it was a thing....

Why is she dressed like a girl scout?

Did policewomen in Hawaii really wear that ridiculous uniform at that time?
That's what they wore on the mainland in the '40s-'70s. I don't know what they wore in Hawaii, but it had to be similar.

I never even seen a Police Woman on the Big Island until the late 80's
