Jack Lord tells Ricardo Maltalban at 1:04 "Aloha, Baby" Ricardo Maltalban was a guest star here but he also appeared as Khan in Star Trek 2. Mar 22, 2020 @ 12:54 am.
You got to love Hawaii Five-0. Did they try to make Ricardo Montalbán look Asian? Also couldn't they have casted stronger and younger armed security guards who escorted Montalbán on the boat. Looks like that found these two at Walmart.
So many commenters MEAN and SARCASTIC as they DO NOT UNDERSTAND this is what an ACTOR DOES=PLAYS DIFFERENT CHARACTORS=thus the title of ""CHARACTOR ACTOR"" When PACINO (real life ITALIAN GUY) portrays a SPANISH SPEAKING HISPANIC ""DOPE DEALING GUY"" the ENTIRE movie theatre audience screams out ""WHAT A FANTASTIC ACTOR because they all seem to LOVE DRUG MOBSTER TYPES but when its a portrayal of a MAILMAN/BOOK WRITER/SCHOOL TEACHER/SOLDIER/SALESMAN that SAME AUDIENCE goes into thier= ""THEY SHOULD OF GOTTEN AN HISPANIC/ASIAN guy to play those HISPANIC/ASIAN CHARACTORS!!!! Which is what the MOVIE/TV PRODUCERS DID= GOT A CHARACTOR ACTOR to PLAY that ETHNIC ROLE!!!! And the actor CHOSEN was allready on the casting list and promised a part in the next TV/MOVIE and HE GOT THE PART!!!!! ROSS MARTIN of WILD WILD WEST portrayed 100,s of DIFFERENT ETHNIC CHARACTORS and NOBODY COMPLAINED as well as PETER GRAVES & MARTIN LANDAU of MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE and MILLIONS of TV SERIES viewers found it facinating=because they are CHARACTOR ACTORS!!!!! Don,t hear much griping when ""that other"" acting group portrays different ethnic charactors== VONDER VY IZ DAT???
Never get snookered by a cop. All he had to do is say, thanks for the nice gift Mcgarrett. See ya later! and walk up the gang plank past the 2 Hawaiian police officers and sail away!
No. The suspect was a Japanese soldier who had deserted during WW2. He thought the two guys in suits were part of Bushido, a clandestine Japanese organization that was going around tracking down and assassinating WW2 deserters.
The suspect was a Japanese naval officer who had deserted during WW2, killing his fellow Japanese seaman to do it. After WW2, some Japanese veterans created a clandestine organization, called Bushido, to hunt down and end dishonorable Japanese WW2 deserters. He thought the two men on the ship were Bushido assassins.
steve kono and danny ready to make the bust all in one fall swoop and ready to take him down so Khan aka ricardo thinks he can pull a fast one ha good luck trying to get past the five o gang
So the casting director must've thought - we can't get any Asian actors to play this role, so we'll glue some fake eyelids on Ricardo Montalban and say he's Japanese, and that'll work just fine.
Jack did nothing untoward Zulu. Zulu didn't like his role and blamed Jack for it when it was the producers who decided on what he would say and do. Zulu was looking for someone to pick on and Jack was the best target because he was the star of the show. There's no proof he mistreated Zulu.
The way I heard it was Zulu was not happy with his role, seem to blame some Jewish guy for some award event regarding himself that fell thru, plus some of his other woes, every thing came to a head with Zulu arguing and getting upset plus letting out some racist quibs. As far as I know Jack Was not there or witness to this incident but plenty of others were so the angst was pretty public. Jack later was told what happened. Zulu had gone home upset and was later told not to return (mainly I think because of the racist remarks he had made with the many witnessing the discord) so I don't think he had too much of a choice other than to sack him, btw he was responsible for hiring him also, with the many ethnic cast & workers on the show I don't think he could let that pass without some kind of definitive action on his part as Jack was responsible for staff recruitment both infront and behind the cameras
@@yvonneholder273 Because he was going to get an award by the Coast Guard for his service, but Lord said no, only if I get one as well. Lord never served in the CG. Zulu got mad and took it out on a Jewish guy who delivered the bad news. Leonard Freeman fired him when he found out.
Hey, it was a different time, and different era. Yeah, some things have changed for the better (and others haven't -- at least there as no "PC Gestapo" running around then).
Why? Steven Segal played Italians... how many Italians were offended? None. Do you believe only gays should play gay parts, only Danes should play Hamlet? Ridiculous.
Jack Lord was one of the finest actors on TV of the 20th century
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. JACK LORD WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL OF US.
And Ricardo Montalban.
The Great Steve MC Garrett of Hawaii 5 O will and always be one of my Heros RIP the Great Jack Lord
WOW! What a finish! Never saw it coming. 😊
Man what a great show this was!
The original was ahead of its time regarding casting. Plus it had compelling stories with some connected to the Cold War.
I Love the Original Hawaii 5 O. Steve, Danny And Ben Are My Favorites!!!!
I love the original Hawaii Five-O
This episode finishes with McGarrett playing his ultimate "checkmate" on the perp.
Richardo Mantibon playing a Chinese man, just to hilarious.....lol!
Japanese.
it the second time he played a Japanese man the other time in a movie in the 1950,s with Marlon Brandon
and he Spanish and Mexican
That's who I THOUGHT it was!
OMFG - and how he used to rail against Caucasians playing stereotyped Hispanics....
That's because all the Chinese in Hawaii were working on Hawaii Five O! LOL
The New Hawaii 5-0 was good but the original show was GREAT!!
Mc Garrett ran Hawaii and the Governor knew it.
Love this show!!!!!!!!

Jack Lord tells Ricardo Maltalban at 1:04 "Aloha, Baby"
Ricardo Maltalban was a guest star here but he also appeared as Khan in Star Trek 2.

Mr. Rourke on Fantasy Island.
Montalban would return to Hawaii Five-O four season later. He played a street racer named Alex Pareno.
"Bushido!!! Bushido!!!"
Until now millions around the world come to standsill the moment this theme song explodes in youtube!
I can't watch the new 50 episodes. Only want to see Jack Lord/Danno episodes.
IJnet the new one isn’t anywhere near as good as this one
The new ones absolutely stink.
Me too. Not the real H5O.
I agree with the others. Why should I watch some crap from the reboot version if I can watch the original version of Hawaii 5 0 with Jack Lord and James MacArthur played their roles as Steve McGarrett and Daniel Williams very well.
Please think positive at all times. ©®

Finally, a justification for the four-door Mercury.... the Five-0 carpool!
Great scene 👏
I prefer this version over to the screwy reboot version any day of the week.
Please do keep inside during this quarentine as much as possible. ©®

I like how he doesn't trust anyone. Nowadays, people will lie for a donut!
🤔 Always been lies.
McGarrett, that was cold 😨
Just the way I like it 😎 🍷 🍷

Aloha Baby! Good old Fashioned Police Work..
Excellent
That bad guy was Ricardo Montelban! Oy!
McGarrett wouldn't let him take Hawaii, so he had to find another island.
Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!
Samurai. Great episode!
AWESOME !!!!!!!!! episode
The suave Ricardo Montalban.
Khan is no match for ol Steve McGarrett.
So.cool.dude.wow
Was Ricardo out Khaned?
Corinthian leather.
Never get snookered by a cop. All he had to do is say, thanks for the nice gift Mcgarrett. See ya later! and walk up the gang plank past the 2 Hawaiian police officers and sail away!
He didn’t know they were cops.
Ricardo Montalban could play any part given to him including mobsters.
Awesome maneuver
Wow is that Ricardo Mountabaun? Aloha Baby...
What was in the red box????
As that candy ad would say, "The world may never know."
Hara kiri knife 'cos he was as good as phuct anyway.
Volver a ver esta serie pero en español desde Perú
The reboot is a joke.
Mc Garrett Hello of a man
Ricardo Montabauln should have hollered" The Plane, The Plane!!"
The Bushido concept in this episode was wonky. They should have made him someone who had double-crossed the Yakuza.
Kono steve and danny know something is not going to go right here and they may be on the hunch here
Kono was great.
I must be missing some context here. I don't think "Bushido" means "Yakuza", lol.
❤
1:29 The suspect had Asianphobia?

KHAN!!
You can tell this is an old show. An illegal is getting thrown out.
steve kono and danny ready to make the bust all in one fall swoop and ready to take him down so Khan aka ricardo thinks he can pull a fast one ha good luck trying to get past the five o gang
Ele é um ator. Pode ser o que quiser!
wish you had complete epiposes of Hawaii 5-0.
todd1967able if u upload the whole episode CBS will block it!
I wish I knew what an epipose was, and I wish you knew what a spellchecker was.
I have seasons 1-7 on DVD
what a great show McGarrett he was 5-0

Wif leal colinseal reza...
Tokura Ricardo shouldn't kill Mary Travis or even came out seeing his daughter Dedee

Lord should've treated Zulu better.
Jack did nothing untoward Zulu. Zulu didn't like his role and blamed Jack for it when it was the producers who decided on what he would say and do. Zulu was looking for someone to pick on and Jack was the best target because he was the star of the show. There's no proof he mistreated Zulu.

Imight add that Lord was a perfectionist, probably hard on himself and others.

montalban as an asian? this is insulting.
are you saying he's playing half-mexican? he's not playing a full-blooded latino. they gave him eye-slanting makeup.
Not as many well known Asian actors back then. Glad today there are
You are too easily insulted
