Before, the manual door locks and ignition worked, but the remote wouldn’t… I tried other methods on RUclips but this was the only thing that worked to link the remote again. It automatically re-linked the other key fob I had too, just by doing it with one of them. The Honda dealership wanted $160 to reprogram the fobs… thank you so much!! I’ve got 2 fully functioning key fobs now ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Not because of the instructions given by this helpful video, but because my sister who lives by my mom thought she was doing the right thing, took the key fob to a jewelry store at the mall since the screw was super stuck and was hard to unscrew and didn't want to damage it. Long story short, the fob didn't work even after the store replaced the battery. I've tried searching online and watching many vids, but to no avail. It was a simple fix all along by ordering new batteries and replaced them myself, that jewelry store put in a dead battery. Thank goodness she only took one and not both fobs because she was charged $24 for one, uggh. I'm sure this video hack works, but not for us. This Key fob worked with fresh batteries, I had to pry the other one open since the screw was really stuck good, even with the precision screwdriver. That jewelry store though is shady, I told my sister to get her money back.

you had my hopes high but this didnt work on a 2016 Honda Cr-V Touring. All the other videos show it being done but only on keyed ignition and. yours was the first one I found for a push start…….. I did everything by the book and no luck. Makes me wonder if there was a bait and switch and you used 2 different fobs
Can this method be used to program a new aftermarket remote FOB so I can have three fobs for my 2018 Civic? That would be SO much easier and less expensive than going to the stealership or locksmith!! Thanks!!

Leave all doors unlocked. 2. Press on button in car twice to get to accessories mode. 3. Press lock button on new remote 5 times. 4. Press lock button on driver's door 5 times. 5. Open door manually. 6. Turn off car. 7. Test new remote. Did I get it right?
Same problem with a 19 Civic Sport. Got a new fob as a spare but your method did not work! Does the fob have to be programmed first before it can ever be RE-PROGRAMMED?
@@pbjelly88201 Normally you will need a locksmith to program both key and remote for newer models like 2016 and newer. Not sure his procedure will always work for new models.
Sir you are a professional. My Honda civic 2017 had an accident. It was in herbers workshop for 2 weeks. When I received it the key could lock and unlock the car but when I was in car and closed the door, after few seconds the car was locked and when I opened the door the car was alarmed very noisy. It was clear that car can not detect the fob is inside the car. Also the proximity function was disabled and car was not locking when I was walking away from it. I tried your instructions and it was fixed immediately. Perfect! Thank you. I have a question too. If I buy a fob from Amazon, then can I use same method to program it or it has to be done by dealer. Please guide me. It is question of many people in internet and also in the comments of this video. Thank you again and looking forward to hear from you .

This method just resyncs an already programmed key that became unsynced when the battery was changed. This will not program a new fob to your vehicle.
