I generally don't watch a full ad on RUclips but when I saw this from Daley Thompson (and Bridgestone) I stopped - Daley has for me always epitomised what a great athlete is. I watched, hoping there was no identity politics, there was none. This has inspiring message for all. Well done and thank you.
I was at school with Daley, or Francis as he as called back then, and even in the same class, about 7-8 kids, although he was nearly 2 years older. He was an outstanding all round athlete, footballer, although like most sprinters not so keen on distance running. He used to be able to clear the whole school long jump pit. Very few people know what a tough life, he really had, the same with many at Farney Close School.
Daley Thompson was part of my childhood growing up. He was (is) a legend. I remember playing the video games in the 80s, Daley Thompson’s decathlon on the Commodore 64 with my friends. In my late 40s now and this guy still is one of my heroes.
Daley Thompson was my Idol and still is.One time greatest athlete out of the whole world.Very likable lad with that cheeky personally that he had haha..Who remembers that tee shirt about the world's second greatest athlete hahaha 🤣
