I'll also point out that most people feel a "bond" with Ernie because they've watched the show. No one knows Cheryl from Eve. I cried throughout the entire video. As the father of a special needs child, people like Michael, Ernie and Cheryl are inspirations. It's not easy every day, but their story shows what amazing things can be done with love and patience.
RIP Michael. We never met, but you won't ever be forgotten.

My brother had special needs.Born with muscular dystrophy.Passed away at 37 after long illness similar to Michael.He meant the world to me and everyone else and I miss him every day and will for the rest of my life.

I'm disabled. I've needed people to take care of me for almost 27 years. Ernie and Cheryl you are excellent no doubt. I still feel worthless and like a burden a lot of my life, but my mom wanted me to fight and I did and I have done so much. I know I don't have a lot left but I hope my value was seen and felt. I hope that I supplied empathy and passion and I hope it's remembered.
You're worth taking care of. You're the same as all if us just different hang ups. Hope you never feel like a burden. You're not

Ernie Johnson salute! My daughter has Rhett Syndrome which is a sever form of Autism that effects mostly females. She's still with us I just tucked her in with so much love. She's great her name is McKenzie! I look at my youtube and this video was at the top of the list. We could call this weird but this is a blessing to me and my wife! Thank you!

I heard about Ernie's loss on Sunday and i gasped while talking to my friend..My friend asked me what was wrong..I told him the news i heard..He responded With people die every day.I layed into him like i knew Ernie.Told him empathy and sympathy isn't just for people you know.Its also for those you dont. Wow, this actually made me tear up. Hearing that worker say that a 3 year old is "no good", not even giving him a chance, was saddening. I'm glad Michael was able to live his best life and have such a positive impact on everyone around him
