The paper size thing is basically A1 = 2 x A2 = 4 x A3 = 8 x A4, etc. So, 2 A4 will make an A3 sheet. It's a pretty good system to standardise the whole thing. And is important when you look at printers, copiers, etc. Now, here is the twist - University degrees tend to be a different size again. And that can be a pain when, for some jobs they want to see the original and confirm with the university.
The 'A' series of page sizes are superior because they are scaleable with a consistent length to side ratio of root2 ie. A5 is half A4, A4 is half A3 etc. For some reason Nth America is pretty much the only place that don't use A4 as standard.
Never knew about the letter sizes. This was an interesting and original list compared to other vids I've seen. Hope to see a part 2 or make it a series
Permanent (full time and part time) employees get things like annual leave and sick leave, whereas casual employees don't. As such casual employees get compensated with higher rates. In my opinion though, the higher pay rate isn't enough. Better to be a permanent employee. The company can also get rid of a casual employee much more easily. Permanents' have to be given a chance (3 I think).
There is a little more to it than that. There are still rules around the BYO. It is all the rules / compliance stuff around the different levels of licensing in AU that make the whole thing a pain. And different to each state.
Casual workers are paid more because they don't qualify for four weeks annual leave, sick pay or employer contribution to their superannuation.Having never been a casual employee, I may be incorrect with the superannuation claim.
I find Vancouver's bus system way better than Sydney's. All the Vancouver busses have GPS trackers and using the app you know exactly when to expect the bus.
It’s a good point. The emergency number in Australia is Triple 0 - 000. Nobody would say to call zero zero zero. It’s call triple zero. Oddly for that phone number we mostly say zero instead of ‘O’.
🇨🇦 You never heard 0 pronounced like ‘oh’ in Vancouver? Just the opposite for me. One telephone area code here is 604. I have never hard anyone say 6 zero 4, always 6 ‘Oh’ 4.
@@cascee by the way the extra pay for casual employment is to compensate you for paid leave that you would receive if you are permanent or part-time employed

I never heard of eshays lol and I have been living in Australia most of my life .

The byo is normally tor restaurants that dont have a liquor licence as it can be quite expensive for them.

I say zero. But o is probably more common here.

Yes that’s true we still got paid superannuation :)

Yeah trueee I think the bus itself is much better in Vancouver but the roads here and bus stops in Brisbane are much more optimized for commuters!
That might be ok for those that carry a gps with them all over the world.
Don't you have a GPS system in Sydney's buses? In Perth, we get a live location of buses from our transperth app.
haha enjoyed that one! isn't there a Triple Os in Canada ?

The first thing I thought of when you said Triple O's was the Canadian restaurant by WhiteSpot 😂
@@bensnooks4830 I did not know this! Good to know!
@@cascee yup the poutine!

I guess I never really noticed! I think I always said zero when I read my phone number out loud 😂 I probably did it both ways
🤣 Thank you I'm dying laughing about your phone number comment.
Its very interesting! 😆

Not sure that “eshays” is really a thing. Seems more like a niche meme.
Do you ever think that what you find to be normal might, in fact, be very unusual across the world? You are, ofc. right next door to the the US.
