If I am asked “Do u know Australia?” In my homecountry Nepal, I would have given 5 mins essay on how much I like staying in Australia. This country is so beautiful 💙
Back in the 80s my grandfather went to Japan and was wearing that stereotypical Australian hat. There was this one Japanese guy who saw this and said to my grandfather “cowboy”. My grandfather “close Australia” his reply “ crocodile Dundee”
Fewer than 20 percent of Japanese people own a passport and even less travel overseas for leisure. I don't blame them for not knowing much about Australian culture haha
Mate Despite all the shit talking about tassie for a mainlander I love the variety of ecosystems there and the people actually seem genuine….. better than most of us mainlanders
Ive been to Japan with my mom in 2018, Many people were shocked that I told them I was from Australia, I was also wearing a crocodile dundee hat, and I got stares that they never seen it before haha. A woman asked me if we have koalas, and I said "we have them everywhere", she said she wants to cuddle them haha.
Just found this video by accident! Young people love creating slangs and used them but become old-fashion so quickly. Manji is derived from maji, a casual term of extremely, like legit in Eng. Although it was in trend 2 yrs ago and we Japanese still use 'maji' quite often, nobody uses Manji nowadays😂
Wait... manji is a symbol of the swastika? This IS why listening in school (or just simply educating ourselves) is important.. a simple google search told me more about it than just believing it is just some "nazi symbol". Sorry if i offended anybody. It is not my intention. Was just suprised on how little i knew about that symbol and the meaning of it.
Thanks for watching Leon! 😊 One of those 2am RUclips rabbit holes 😛 The music track at the beginning (which is also used as instrumental background music for the main part of the video) is a royalty free track called “Arrigato”. Here’s the link if you want to hear the whole thing: www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/arigato
It seems to me that you are unaware of japanese german relation. We actually have a city for germans, it's named chiba. You'd see a lot of germans livin there. Consequentially bulgarian people same as polish also live along with them in that area.
There aint that many aussies in here tho so don't expect much unlike english men and american, they are like in every single industry ud ever imagine, aus on the other hand only exist on tourism spots and space industry. Americans do university exchange same goes for uk, also americans is dense on the it industry,.The german japanese relation is most likely tied cause of the automotive industry i have seen a lot of germans in here specially in power plants and tsukuba where our space agency is settled.
Yeah as an asian we didn't care or interested in australia but we focus on U.S.A and canada and Europe....one of the most favourite and popular to japanese was German and American.....we don't care british cultures and there Ideas we much focus on American and German because they are more practical and more smart
I knew what he said straight away I've never watcher anime or manga just been around alot of foreigners from alot of countrys but I think it was pretty clear what he was saying
they look like they dont care about australia when you asked them where you re from they said every country except aus. weird i thought they d know much more since the countries are close to eachother
It's hard to know what to think about Japan after watching this video it would seem they know very little about Australia I was very surprised by this as we know Japan very well they do not even know we exist I find this very strange the people of Japan did seem very polite and friendly which is a good thing but I believe they need to know more about Australia as we are there friend and their Ally
When the Japanese girl said crickey 😂

Anyway...
This video shows that there is a lot of room to increase awareness there about Australia to boost tourism.
Back in the 80s my grandfather went to Japan and was wearing that stereotypical Australian hat. There was this one Japanese guy who saw this and said to my grandfather “cowboy”. My grandfather “close Australia” his reply “ crocodile Dundee”
I love that you picked "chuck a uey" its so common and everyone goes for such old phrases

I guess it was difficult to find people who can speak English in Japan. Over 90% people can't speak English.
Maybe the most awkward street interviews I’ve ever seen

I'm surprised so many spoke pretty good English
I backpacked Asia for six months and meet a lot of travelers from around the world some say Australians are racist.
... I can never hear any accent when I speak, but when people record Aussies speaking, _then_ I can hear the accent. It's weird.

Just visited Japan - most don't know much about the west. They don't allow many immigrants so it's a monoculture. Even so, I enjoyed my time there.
Younger Japanese are more receptive, and less reserved--I like that
