I have been there several times from a few days to a few weeks. I was allowed to work on the Monastery and the Convent on several projects. One day I was in the kitchen, as I looked around, I said to myself, oh my God I am washing dishes with Saints!
I can remember when we were told not to associate with this order by our diocese when they first started here. I have been there. It is beautiful and peaceful. God's Blessing on these monks.
Indeed - but they are under threat. The present Pontiff seems determined to eliminate the Mass of Ages and traditional Catholic orders and societies. His recent Motu Proprio "Traditione Custodes " is just the beginning. At present he is conducting a vendetta against traditional orders of nuns, for instance Carmelite communities in America who are being subject to "visitations" and ordered to change their ways and come out of enclosure in order to "move with the times". As he is the Pope these communities have no choice but to obey. He is steeped in a modernist ideology that runs completely counter to the timeless truth and beauty and devotion of the lives of these monks. I pray they can stand firm and endure. It is the traditional orders that have most of today's recruits, and the traditional Mass that's thriving, as the "modern" Church (stuck in the 1960s) goes into rapid decline.
More than simply a monastery, the men who sanctify this piece of heaven on earth with their prayers and labors are laudable in their devotion, remarkable in their labors, and most Christlike in their charity toward each other and the stranger. Amazing people. Amazing place. What lenses through which to see God!
@josephr.gainey2079 i left under the guidance of the Abbott. Following a retreat he said it was God's will that i didn't have a calling to be a religious. But it turned out to be the best marriage preparation that i could have asked for. It was awesome. Not a day goes by that i don't think about the monastery or something that i learned while i was there. So many young men should go and check it out.

Since the pandemic we have had SSPX home TLM Mass with Father Katzaroff from El Paso. I order your coffee several times a year. I’m now a professed SSPX Third Order Member and I will pray for you all every day
7 times a day! And many Catholics complain about going to Mass 1 day out of the week... some 1 Mass a year! :( I'd love to visit one of these daily if they allowed it. Under 2 years now a Catholic and I love the Holy Mass. I'm impressed that everything is done by the monks themselves. Quality work from decades gone by. The monastery layout I like. And I was not aware that there were Benedictine Nuns! Wow. Quite a community going here. May God be with all your spirits, and praise be to our Lord, Jesus Christ.
These are the real-deal monks. They aren't afraid to get dirty in a full hooded regulation habit. At 26:23 you can see a still image of one enjoying himself in mud and rain. 24:21 you can see a hooded monk sawing wood as dust flies everywhere. I don't know about you, but I believe religion is meant to be enjoyed. Those that want you to not enjoy it are the cults that control you. Have fun, dress up, and stay muddy, my friends.
"Listen carefully, my son, to the master's instructions, and attend to them with the ear of your heart. This is advice from a father who loves you; welcome it, and faithfully put it into practice. The labor of obedience will bring you back to Him from Whom you had drifted through the sloth of disobedience. This message of mine is for you, then, if you are ready to give up your own will, once and for all, and armed with the strong and noble weapons of obedience to do battle for the true King, Christ the Lord." RB, Prologue

Yes. The SSPX is the reason that the Latin Mass continues today. While the SSPX may be criticized because of being estranged from Rome, they might be our only hope with what the Catholic Church is now facing. Hopefully one day the SSPX and the FSSP can be reunited.
Why do you hate me? I cannot comprehend the hatred you have for me. You support the man, Marcel, who hated the liturgy that grew up with and love. I have no doubt you share his hatred. I have no doubt that you have no respect or reverence for many Saints of the Catholic Church; St. Pope John XIII, St. Pope John Paul II, St. Faustina, and countless others. I have no doubt you reject the beautiful traditions of the Church, the Luminous Mysteries, the Divine Mercy chaplet, because they are newer traditions. Why do you hate me? I tear myself apart, unable to comprehend the hatred you have for me. You will say you do not hate me; I say that you hate the Mass I love, the Saints I love, the traditions I love... and I will say that, if you do not hate me, I would prefer that you hated me over hating that which I love. I have found Christ through the Novus Ordo. I have found Christ through Saints like St. Faustina. I have found Christ through the Luminous Mysteries and Divine Mercy Chaplet. Why do you hate me? I tear myself apart because I can not comprehend why those who call themselves Catholics would so hate their fellow Catholics as you hate me and my practices. Why? Can you answer me? I tear myself apart mentally, not being able to comprehend you and your hatred of me.
