Keep Your Daydream I'm so glad to hear that! And thanks again for the all the praise and the exposure. We have had several customers inquire about our services due to your Vlog!
I love watching the troubles others have. Not because I like to watch people suffer (ok maybe just a little) but mostly to help prevent me from doing or going through the exact same thing. Sorry for your troubles, but rest assured you have helped someone!
Good video. I have a 2015 F-250 with a 6.7. I'm pulling a 37' fifth wheel. Sagged a couple inches so I added Air Lift 5000 Load Lifter bags and made a big difference in the ride. Happy trails to all y'all
Thanks for posting this. I just finished doing an install myself of Firestone Ride Rites on my '14 F150. Your video caused me to go double-check my work. Whew. I did it correctly. The instructions are pretty clear, but a lot of folks assume they know how things go together without verifying. I also learned from your vid that pulling out an air line requires trimming off the end of the line before reinserting. Good to know!
It's a great catch by this shop, the bad things that could have happen if the bag's did blow! Thank goodness for good businesses that Care. keep the rubber on the road.
We got to experience the bag blow out, thanks to faulty installation. After less than 20 miles, one bag blew at 55mph on the interstate, pulling a Sundance Bunkhouse. One of the most frightening moments of my life!
@@akbychoice Actually, I think he should have given the original installer the opportunity to correct the problem. Lots of reasons to allow the original person or company to get involved because most businesses want to make the problem right and take care of the issue so they can take care of their client.
Lol. Fair point... but that's why it was the ultimate test. Previously, everyone would have been yelling on those bumps. It was stiff and we all just learned to deal. It's so nice now!
I just picked up a travel trailer to stay in for work(roughly 300 days a year) I am glad you posted this video. I'm installing these bags in a few days. Love the channel
I put them on mine my self . I love them I will never have another truck without them. it the best thing ever . ive had them for 5 yrs and still great. have fun in all your travels.
Glad you were able to catch that before it was a bigger headache on the road. If that original install company is worth their salt, they would provide you a couple of new replacement bags... Love the firestone ride-rite kits. Been using them on F150's, F250's and F550's for close to 10 years, and currently have them on a 2012 F150 pulling a 9500lb jayco 314BHDS (31ft) trailer a few weekends almost every month. The kits were relatively easy to install (even for a do it yourselfer) and never a lick of trouble. They are truly a god-send, especially for the newer F150's. Those rigs are engineered to ride more like a car, and even if you load them up to half of their rated battle capacity, they start to handle like a big marshmallow. My only complaint with the system is that it is a bit overkill for the F150, meaning if you are not careful, it is easy to overload the rear axle and rear tires on the truck. However, if you are mindful of your axle weights, its not a problem.Best of luck in your pacific NW travels this season, and can't wait to hear and see more!
Good comment. You're right. It's a simple install, but hard when full-timing. I would have preferred to do this myself, but like that Taps did it right.
I commented on one of your videos awhile back and explained how much I am enjoying your videos and that you inspired us to make a road trip ourselves with our newly purchased RV. We decided to come to Phoenix, AZ where a friend of my wife lives. We'll probably be around for another week or so. 9,200lbs, that's insane! I am very nervous with our roughly 7k trailer on a half ton F150. The truck squats a little bit when the trailer is set down on it even with a weight distribution hitch. I think this video is going to be an awesome case for me to make to the wife about getting air bags installed to help with the trailer. My truck has the 5.0 in it, I didn't even know they made F150's with raptor 6.2 motors. I'll have to look into that! We've stopped in Amarillo, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, went through Sedona, Az in which Rancho RV park allowed us to drop our trailer for a few hours in order to tour the town, and finally made our way down to Mesa. This trip has been incredible and allowed us to see some old friends that we haven't seen in a few years. Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the great work on these videos!
That's awesome. We love AZ and Rancho is a great park. Yeah, I really like the truck being level and it's an easy install that will save you a lot. The F150 has 4 engine options. Crazy. The 6.2L is fast when Ginger isn't back there.
Thanks for the video. I watched it last week prior to getting my bags installed. And the shop ended up installing the exact same piece upside down just like yours. If I didn’t happen to watch the video I would have never known! Thanks again!
Hi Marc, you should look into super springs You install them and forget them. We have a Dodge Ram 2500 diesel and a 35' 5th wheeler. It rides great and there is no maintenance. I forgot that I had them until I saw this video.
This is a great video. It shows even when we pay for a professional to do work sometimes we don't get a professional job. I do anything I can handle myself for this reason. It's great when you find a reliable and knowledgeable shop. As for airbags, they work great and I wouldn't be without them.
I agree. Love doing projects like this myself, but being in the road fulltime is hard. If/when we get a 5er, I may include a small tool bin with proper jacks and tools.
Holy crap ! You made me go out and look at mine on my Dodge 1 ton !! Mine are good, whew. Great video, Kudos to the shop for pointing it out AND fixing it.
Hey Mark, this is a long time back, but, the lesson is still very excellent - thanks for these excellent videos! Also, good to see all 3 “little helpers” with you - so long ago…
It's really good finding a company you can trust to work on your truck. Glad to see your airbags are working to their capacity now. And now you'll feel the difference when you hook up Ginger. Hugs to you and your family. Sandy and Jay Livesay
Great video. I'm getting ready to change the shocks on my F150. Haven't had any suspension issues, but my trailer is about 2500 lighter than Ginger. Only is has been a hot transmission, cooler has been upgraded.
Shawn Lynch Depending on the trans, they offer a deeper pan with a secondary, external filter, and an extended pickup tube on the internal filter. It also adds a little to fluid capacity. It is supposed to aid in cooling, so if it is still an issue, it might be worth asking your dealer about it.
Shawn Lynch PS... it is typically found in the 250, 350 models, I never saw one on a 150. If needed, and available, if you explain why you want it, the dealer should be able to install.
Just a heads up, those Bilstein shocks are mounted upside down. I had a leveling kit installed on my 150, and the tech made the same mistake. Bilstein says to mount all their shocks with their name upright so you can read it.
That you went to Taps is pretty funny as I have known Garret for 20 plus years! Wish I knew you were in Paso as I am in Atascadero! But we just just got home from Laughlin so we would have missed each other anyway.
I had just recently saw advertising for the Firestone Ride-Rite air shocks... I have a F-1 2013 Ford 3.5 EcoBoost with a 2in lift.. thank you for that video appreciate it
Another excellent video. I'm putting air bags on my F-250 this summer. Our travel trailer is about the same weight as yours and it squats horribly. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the information. I really didn't know what a ride right was. I love how you just fix it and didn't retaliated against the installer or maybe you did later?
Great info. I was going to install that system but my Ram 1500 doesn't have leaf springs. Need to go with an in the coil system. Travel travel. Good info
Love your channel! We are a family starting with an evo trailer and just bought a Toyota Tundra for a big trip in June to Zion and Yellowstone.. we love all the advice you guys have it has been so helpful.. now we caught this video and we realized you came right through our home town of Paso Robles.. Garrett is amazing.. our family has subscribed.. Paso is a small area but beautiful we can't wait to hit the road this summer for two weeks.. have a great adventure
Nice. Glad you got it figured out. I am also looking at Firestone airbags for my 08 f150. Spring 2018 I buy my travel trailer and am hitting the road for 7 months. I do plan on filming as much as i can in hopes of starting my own youtube channel. You guys have definitely been an inspiration for me to get out and explore. cannot wait for the freedom. Your guys videos have definitely helped me alot, In figuring out some gear options. But anyways just wanted to give a shout out to you awesome people . And who knows maybe we'll run into each other in a campground somewheres. Cheers. And drive safe. 😊
Brilliant! I need to find a shop like that in Dallas. I’m amazed that y’all pulled a 9,000 lb rig with an f-150 and a gasoline engine. We’ve been pulling our 4,500 lb. rig with a F-350, 7.3 L diesel. I think I’m gonna downgrade to a F-250 diesel. Keep On Truckin’
Good video. Probably going to put the Firestone ride right on my new GM 2500. I would like to know if you have to have air pressure in the bags at all time. I don't do all of towing and was thinking that I only needed air pressure when levelling with the trailer? Thanks Len
Amazing video as always I'm so excited to see season 3 and if you have any questions about anything in your trip don't hesitate to contact me! Have a great day!
Geez I've installed four sets of Firestone bags, and about to install my fifth on my 19 F150, how the heck do you screw up the installation??? The instructions are excellent, and the new sets on the new trucks don't require drilling, there's even a help number to call if your stumped plus there's always You Tube!
I have airlift system air bags with compressor on my 2013 f-150. Installed them myself. Awesome! Tows so much better. Fine tuning while on the road with a wireless remote.
Very informative video. I am looking to add Firestone on my 1-ton truck to improve the ride. Great job done by Taps Truck & Auto. Thanks for the video.
Hi, Marc. My Dodge 3500 don't sag too much while towing. But I believe rear air suspension could improve ride comfort, and help with rear load leveling. My truck weighs around 7.500 lbs. and max towing capacity of 30,100 lbs. Diesel engines are the best for towing.
WOW, installed wrong. I'm curious what weight distribution hitch you are using and who set it up. A properly set up WD hitch will take that "sag" returning you're front end too the same ride height.
I would love to see a video on what I need to do to help my F150 with its pulling job!! Thanks look forward to you guys future videos!! We love watching you guys!! Great Family!!
My air bags were installed without the spacer on the bottom of the bags that allows the bottom bracket to rest on and be supported by the bottom jounce stop above the axle. Yikes. Thanks for the video, I checked them out and corrected them.
I have the same setup you do and I was wondering what psi you have your bags at? I have basically the same truck and trailer and I use a weight distribution hitch as well. love your channel
Did you use a weight distribution hitch along with the airbags when you had this f150? I have a leveled f150 so it doesn’t take any weight at all to sag the rear lens/lift the front. Just bought a WDH but I’m sure I will still have some sag even once I install that.
Interesting, some years ago I had the Firestone Ride-Rite installed on my Ranger at a Firestone dealer. Installed correctly. Like you, I had another person look over my rig and pointed out the problem. Like you, he corrected it.
QQ...My wife and I just bought our first camper two weeks ago (woot! woot!) and w/ it we bought the Equalizer hitch system. It has the weight distribution and sway control built in. It's set up pretty good now and does not squat too bad... would air bags be a worthy investment or add to my 1/2 ton Tundra?
Keep Your Daydream yes!!! I'm buying an F-150 in a couple weeks and want to get a similar truck/trailer setup to yours and a video getting into detail about your entire setup would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks. Love your videos.
Keep Your Daydream Have you released the video on your truck upgrades? I looked but did not find it and I want to make sure I did not miss it. I have the exact same truck as your and love it. Thanks!
I have a 2017 GMC Z71 1500 4WD crew cab short bed 6.2 liter gas engine. I installed Firestone Ride Rite air bags. We tow a Open Range 2910 RL Ultra Light using a weight distribution and anti sway bar. Recently towed the RV first time out with windy conditions. Have weighed truck and loaded trailer and all is within limits. Was not comfortable at all towing due to sway and too much front bounce. Really do not think the rig is set up properly. Any comments would be grateful and also what weight distribution anti sway would you recommend? Thanks, Tom
I thought you were joking around during the last clip of this vid with everyone bouncing around from side to side. The only thing missing was a neck brace or two. Glad you got it fixed.
Lol. Yes, that shows you how bad it was. It was a huge bump, but still soft. Before it would have banged on the brackets and made a loud noise. Everyone would have yelled "Ohhhhhh". No joke.
Oh Wow I have a set of them that are going to be installed on my class C the 23 of May I will have to take a look see to make sure now. This helped me a lot just at the right time! Oh great video as always.
Yes professionals can screw up big time! Had an Airstream 32 ft travel trailer and we got a new truck so had a new wiring harness installed prior to a vacation trip. It would automatically trigger the brake lights when truck brakes were applied. Got to our destination just fine! On the afternoon we left, hubby decided to take a nap while I drove! Late afternoon I decided to "flash" my headlights to warn oncoming traffic to slow down for the speed trap they were approaching and discovered that the "professionals" had wired the light system to the brakes!! So when I popped the lights on, on came the brakes! Lucky for us I could manage to reach our friends lake property before dusk!! Fun!
Great video. I also have an F150 (2015) and thinking about towing an Airstream and getting Bilstein 5100s. Which Bilstein shocks did you install in the rear? Are those the 4600s? Thanks in advance.
I hope you call the company that installed them wrong and let them know. That is not acceptable in any way. Your families safety was riding on their very bad work. I have firestone on my dodge 2500 2001 . Rides like a dream for a 16 year old truck, and pulls my 28 ft Arctic Fox 5th wheel great!
I did Airlift on my F450 just to compare. They are both good, but the Viair on-board compressor is faster and better. I can't tell a difference in the airbags, but I don't like that Airlift provides a Shrader valve for on-board air. It should be a quick disconnect. Search RUclips for KYD Truck Upgrades and you'll see the perfect install on our F250.
I have a 2000 Expedition that had coil and springs added to replace the air shocks. The ride is not as good. How did the Billstein + Firestone Airbags impact the ride?
Did Garrett charge you for turning those brackets over? Just curious. Glad he noticed that. You should make shop one get you some new air bags so there's less chance of one popping where they've been rubbing.
So why wouldn't a load leveling hitch distribute the load evenly without the need for additional suspension parts? I remember dad's 77 Chevrolet handling his trailer quite well without sag account of the load leveler.
We have a weight dist. system, but the sag remains. I wonder what the tongue weight was on your dads Trailer. The Airstreams put their axles forward reducing the tongue weight. I'm sure there are pro's and cons to everything.
so bummed that I did see you guys down in Morro Bay.Esp since I work down there on the water and my family and I are planning a year long trip across the us next year when I retire from the Military. I have so many questions.
lucky to catch the air bag problem in time, I'd get the original company that fitted them to supply you with new one's as they've been cut into if they refuse go to firestone. Heads up to Taps Trucks & Auto.
I've also had the Firestone airside installed on my f250. What I'm hoping to achieve is being able to tow without a wdh. Possibly just a sway control and the bags. The company Airlift has a great video explaining the disadvantage of using bags alone, but I'm hoping I'm under the weight threshold as my tt is 7000lbs. So if you don't mind , my question is , when hooking up the wdh, do you tighten the bars first then add air to the bags ? Or the other way around?
I think the proper way to do it would be to hook up the bars first and then use air to level the truck only once everything is in place. I typically only have 5-10 lbs of air and then hook-up and fill to level. Taps Truck said the point of a level truck is to ensure the cams (?) are straight up and down the truck (something about ball joints - stuff over my head). It doesn't change the performance, tow capacity, or weight. Whereas, your weight dist. system is actually placing weight back onto the TT and taking it off the truck slightly. As you know, I'm not an expert. Others can add in here...
Keep Your Daydream A lot of that I don't understand either lol. The video put out by Airlift did explain that bags alone would increase the weight on the rear axle and actually decrease weight on the steers. I've studied this until smoke is coming out ears. Funny thing is I actually drive a semi for GE , but the big trucks are all I know . I know nothing about towing with pickups lol. Thanks for the reply!
I see them on F250 often. The one ton trucks have a coil, but the 3/4 trucks don't. I'm looking at the F250 too and will add air. Now that they are installed right. It's so smooth and nice...and level.
Thx for the 411!...Our mechanic retired and we are desperate cuz there aren't any decent ones in our area...I'll leave it at that,....I'd be willing to drive the distance to get skilled worker and honest mechanics...cuz that's a rare jewel! ...I'm in Monterey county...so it would be worth to go down there for big jobs that matter a lot.,,,btw did you do anything to prep ur transmission for the tow?
Good video! I need to know the dynamics of getting things fixed on the road. Really would like to know how you deal with the shop that did the installation wrong. I hope you just didn't "let it go."
I'll for sure let him know to help train their staff, but I had 26 employees in my last company. I'd be a hypocrite if I said I didn't have staff that made similar mistakes. Had it caused a damage to the truck or something worst... it would be a dif. story!
Wow,,,,,mind blown once again,,,,,we leave our trust in so many "professionals" on the road. So glad problem was caught in time. Now I'm second guessing several decisions, Thanks again for sharing,,,C-Ya!,,,Peace!
Thanks for this video, I was not 100% sure about getting air bags for my F 150 after you experienced a rough ride in the back when not towing the trailer. Glad you solved that problem, I know there is an air compressor to pump air into the bags but do you have any control on how much air pressure you put in them? My class 8 Truck ( semi ) has air ride but I can only inflate or deflate them via a two way switch, is that the case with the Firestone ride rite system? Thanks Al.
It rides great now. Level and soft. I'm sure the new shocks in the back help too. There are prestie valves on the lic. plate holder and I can fill/deflate with a bike pump or my air tank. A compressor is an option, but towing full-time, they don't need to be adjusted that often so I saved the money and the need for another thing to break.
Great vid, have you weighed you tongue wieght? we have a 2013 f150 stock.king ranch eco bust and tow a 9600 tt with no sag. No bags or springs added. On another note when traveling though Humboldt I would recommend the campground "Elk County" north of Trinidad. Wake up to Elk all around the camp. Rent some kayaks on the near by lagoon from kayak Zack. Great time. Looking forward to more vids.
9,600 F150 no sag? Same year truck? I wonder where your axles are placed. I don't know my tongue weight, but I'm guessing its too much. I also have 5 people in the cab, 5 bikes, full-time gear in the bed and too much stuff in the fw storage of the TT. I'm sure that all plays a factor.
We just purchased our first trailer and our truck is a Ram 1500. It rides pretty level but I'm thinking about adding air for those heavier loaded trips. Marc, do you feel a difference when driving the truck without the trailer?
Yes the bracket on the air bag was installed backwards and eventually wear would take its toll on the sidewall of the air bag. But lets be clear, the air bag was still functioning as intended. Any improvement would probably have been made by new shocks. The air bag bracket had no ill effect of the ride ..only the height as stated.
Wow! Is there anything that you guys don't cover? Funny thing, here I am listening to this at a family's home right now and their 12 year old daughter comes in while I'm listening at about 1:05 in and she says, "Is that so and so comedian guy?" I didn't catch his name but she even had to look at my lap top and see your picture to make sure that it wasn't. To here, it sounded at that point, that you were leading up to a punch line. LoL! Anyway, see the impact that you're having across America?! Still, love your stories no matter the adventure, lesson, experience or humor, they continue to be consistent, constant and ever forward in developing the best, more enjoyable to watch videos online. Thanks for taking the time to share valuable information as well. Bless your travels and family. :)
Just recently found and started watching your videos. Love them . Very informative. I have an 2013 F450 that has a little sag when we hook up to our 5th wheel. Do you have any recommendations??? Thank you in advance.
I'm guessing since this video is so old, this issue has been addressed, but I'll chime in anyway. Pneumatic spring assist like Firestone Ride-Rite work great for leveling your truck when the bed is loaded down. But it's the job of a WDH (Weight Distribution Hitch) to better distribute the load of the tongue weight more evenly across the front and rear wheels of the tow vehicle, when towing. Having both a WDH and pneumatic spring assist can actually complicate the issue. I imagine putting the minimum (usually 5psi) in your spring helpers would virtually negate them, allowing the WDH to do the heavy lifting (so to speak). However, that's something you'll have to consult with the manufacturers, in order to determine, for your specific setup.
I am pulling a 25 ft 6150# empty weight with 2012 F150 3.5L EcoBoost. I put these same air bags on and it helped a bunch! Almost totally eliminated bounce, sway. Feels like I have way more control. I always keep 5 psi and when I put trailer on, I think I put about 12 to 20 psi in. I've forgotten how much and have been trying to find the recommended pressure. I thought it was in this video (I remember first seeing it about 3 yrs ago). We're headed out for a 2 week trip in a couple of days.
Please tell me the process of setting up WDH in conjunction with airbags. Can’t find anything whether to add air to the bags first or after WDH is attached... help
I have a dodge ram 1500 i bought the air lift 1000 for my rear coils . only $80.00 on amazon. haven't installed them yet but hoping it helps to level my truck if not its on to a air bags set up.
Looking forward to your upgrades episode. I have a 2013 F150 pulling a 35ft 6800lb trailer. I've always wanted to ask do you have a lot pull or sway with your trailer even with the a weight distribution hitch??
Keep Your Daydream not sure how it's so light! it's a toy hauler my fiancé and I want to try and do some more traveling but some issues with sway so was curious about your experiences with that. Thanks for the input love watching your channel. Keep it up!! Great family and love the adventure.
Just curious, were you also using a weight distribution hitch prior to installing firestone ride rite. You mentioned you are towing a 9300lb trailer? What is your tongue weight and are you exceeding that, not only for the hitch on the truck, but the weight distibution hitch as well? With a weight distribution hitch, on my 2011 F150, I max at 1130lbs and my 28 foot camper has an 820ish pound tonuge weight. With the sag I saw in one clip, I would be concerned that your weight distribution hitch is not set up properly. When I set mine up, I had the trailer and truck on even ground, both level so I could first adjust the ball on the shank up and down. Then to get enough down pressure on the front axles, I had to adjust the pitch of the ball. Once finished, I had only a 1/2" difference from front wheel well and back wheel well. Thoughts?
So I'm on RUclips doing research on these air bags and I came across your familiar face. Thanks for the info, since I'm probably installing them myself, I'll know not to make this mistake.
If you get a minute - I recently got a 2018 F-150 platinum with max tow (upto 12,700) and have been using a henslely for 14 years with my previous 2 travel trailers. I recently ordered a bigger heavier travel trailer Jayco 332rlok - (I was originally looking at the same model GD you just got but decided on a different path) 9500 empty upto 11,750 gvw. - The question why did you get the ride-rite when you already were using a WDS to level your truck? I’m just trying to determine if I would need to do that as well. - Thanks
Keep Your Daydream Do you need the air to get the truck level? Does the air improve the ride? About how much PSI did you need? I have noticed on some concrete highways a bouncing develops and gets worse at normal highway speeds - does air help? Thanks for the suggestions
That's a good point. I should have mentioned that. My truck is now level and I think it's good, but if a truck really really sagged... that would be very necessary
Your weight distribution hitch should level everything out. The air rite system should be used for leveling the truck from items in the bed. Using the air ride to adjust for tongue weight does not put weight back on the front and will actually take more weight off the front, even though the rear is back to normal height.
*should level everything out, but it can only transfer so much weight back, right? I attach the system properly, but would really need to know the tongue weight of the TT
I saw one of your videos the other day where you actually measured the difference with a tape measure before and after adding air. Do you know which video that was? I didn't get to finish watching it and can't find it now. Thanks
We have watched every video. Great photography and great family! Have to know what kind of sunglasses you have? The clear ones have lasted forever! What brand? Keep up the great work - from Dallas, TX
With this kit it will no longer be necessary to level the truck from the front?. My truck is more inclined towards the front of the factory and I was thinking of buying some level kit
Marc, hey, your F150 is not a Raptor. Raptor has the BIG FORD word on grille. Ok, back to watching... Whew, what a mess those old boys in Maine did! Now, this is the kind of stuff all us truck boys like!! Looking forward to your truck mod videos!
Thanks for sharing your experience at our store, Marc! It's always a pleasure to help people get the most out of their vehicle :-)
Thanks Garett. Lots of great comments on your shop! The truck rides 10X better.
Keep Your Daydream I'm so glad to hear that! And thanks again for the all the praise and the exposure. We have had several customers inquire about our services due to your Vlog!
Good call on fixing it for him! Not sure where you're at but if I'm in need in that area I know where to go. Good service!
Happy trails to all y'all
Sweet. I've seen air on 250's and 350's, but they're pulling big 5ers.
I've installed so far two firestone air ride kits, by far the highest quality I've ever seen
You were lucky to catch that problem before the airbags blew out. Way to go TapsTruck.
Thanks Todd
Todd Hoffmaster I'm guessing the life of the bags is greatly diminished. I think he should go back to the original installer and get free new airbags.
@@akbychoice Actually, I think he should have given the original installer the opportunity to correct the problem.

I laughed at the end of the video when you asked about the ride everybody was bouncing around and said that it was amazing, thumbs up and good job.
Shout out to good mechanics! Thank goodness you found Taps Trucks. Glad you're getting the ride you wanted....and safety! Great video!!
I remember when Taps opened, Garrett is a great dude. I used to hang around his shop when I was stationed there.
I put them on mine my self . I love them I will never have another truck without them. it the best thing ever . ive had them for 5 yrs and still great. have fun in all your travels.
Cool. Good endorsement.
Can't wait to see the video on the upgrades you have done to the truck.
We just installed the air lift 1000 in our truck and has been amazing.
Sweet. I'll get on it. A few other videos ahead of it.
Thanks for the video. I watched it last week prior to getting my bags installed. And the shop ended up installing the exact same piece upside down just like yours. If I didn’t happen to watch the video I would have never known! Thanks again!
PS I enjoy ALL your videos, we are here to watch your experience, whatever that entails. It always helps someone.
Grew up near there, in Atascadero. Love the Central Coast. Glad you met wonderful people.
We loved it. It will be a great vid.
I live in Paso Robles my wife and i have just discovered your youtube channel and it is a hoot.I have been to Tapps many times.keep up the good work.
Agree with James Wold.....looking forward to that vid.
Well I got it do it now....
Hi Marc, you should look into super springs You install them and forget them. We have a Dodge Ram 2500 diesel and a 35' 5th wheeler. It rides great and there is no maintenance. I forgot that I had them until I saw this video.
Firestone ride rite!! Excellent product. Had it on my ram 1500 and on order for my f150. Nothing levels out a load better than these.
Thumbs up for TAPS (a really great local service in SLO county)!
Holy crap ! You made me go out and look at mine on my Dodge 1 ton !! Mine are good, whew. Great video, Kudos to the shop for pointing it out AND fixing it.
Nice. Glad they were done right.
Thanks Sandy!
Best shop. Garret was awesome. I hope other trailer towing rvers stop by for work.
That smile on your face: Same as when I switch to a new set of Michelin's. Just think of how much better Mexico's topos will feel next time!
And when I switched to Mac. :)
Thanks for sharing.
buddabean31 are you using a WD hitch? If so it may be configured incorrectly or is not the correct rated WD hitch for the job.
I watched all of your videos and this is no different, AWESOME!!! Gotta love people that know what they're doing! Can't wait for more!
Zion is amazing. You're going to love it. Paso was great too. It was one of our fav spots in S3 so far. Welcome to the channel.
That's great! Best of luck. It's worth the effort.
I have on my F250 2013 model roadmaster suspension and Stableload (lower) suspension. Very happy with that with lots of support.
Happy Trails
Thanks
Len
Amazing video as always I'm so excited to see season 3 and if you have any questions about anything in your trip don't hesitate to contact me! Have a great day!
Geez I've installed four sets of Firestone bags, and about to install my fifth on my 19 F150, how the heck do you screw up the installation??? The instructions are excellent, and the new sets on the new trucks don't require drilling, there's even a help number to call if your stumped plus there's always You Tube!
Unbelievable and inexcusable the first place installed them wrong. Enjoy your ride now! Perfect music for this episode.
Thanks. I agree. Yeah, I'm glad I found that track.
I have airlift system air bags with compressor on my 2013 f-150. Installed them myself. Awesome! Tows so much better. Fine tuning while on the road with a wireless remote.
that's nice. I didn't put the compressor in... towing 95% of the time, I don't adjust very often.
Understand that. It's good to air down after you unhook the rig. Now did you the bags working correctly before or after Mexico?
After. We drove from Maine to AZ to Mex and back with the airbag installed incorrectly. Can't believe they didn't bust.
Very informative video. I am looking to add Firestone on my 1-ton truck to improve the ride. Great job done by Taps Truck & Auto. Thanks for the video.
I've seen air on 350's before. Do you have sag or it just for the ride? How much does your rig weigh?
On the list! Thx
Now that they are installed right. I have them at 75psi, but I haven't played around with them too much.
It's set up pretty good now and does not squat too bad... would air bags be a worthy investment or add to my 1/2 ton Tundra?
cant wait to see the video on the Upgrades to your truck.
Okay, guess I have to do it now! :)
I really don't see a safety issue but these kits aren't cheap and should of been installed correctly.
So glad you fixed the issue now it's like new again👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Can you talk about why you chose the firestone over airlift when making you initial decision to add air suspension
Awesome video! That’s good to know because I just bought the kit for my 2010 F150 and will be installing next week. Thanks man!
This video led me to purchasing the Firestone Ride-Rites for my F250. Love them! QQ, when you're not towing, what PSI do you keep in them?
Yeah, I drive across town in PHX for my Mech. We're in Monterey now and loved it. Droned Big Sur yesterday. Headed to Santa Cruz today.
Ha. I'm sure you're fine! Yeah "Trust, but verify".
bingo
Trish is looking into Humboldt. Thx
Not exactly. It was hitting the bracket, but I didn't know better as I've never had air. Night and day difference in the ride after it was corrected.
That's funny. Just released a new episode with lots of jokes in the car. Thanks for the comment!
So; the bracket was upside down?? I’m about to have these installed on my 2018 F150 FX4. Want to make sure that I tell the Shop..
Do it yourself so you know it's right.
Just recently found and started watching your videos. Love them . Very informative. I have an 2013 F450 that has a little sag when we hook up to our 5th wheel. Do you have any recommendations??? Thank you in advance.
Way to go, Garrett! Taps is the best in Paso!
@oldhardrock2542
Do you also have a weight distribution hitch?
Air lift or Firestone ? Also will I need less on my jacks on my propride if I add air bags ?
I ca hardly wait for your list of up grades tp pickup. Great video as always. Keep up the good word.
Will do!
Only when the large trucks pass fast. How is your 35' TT so light? I guess we have too much stuff.
I've heard from someone that installed them himself that this mistake would be nearly impossible to make lol.
The question why did you get the ride-rite when you already were using a WDS to level your truck? I’m just trying to determine if I would need to do that as well. - Thanks
I got the air after. I'm adding it to the new truck too. I prefer air and a level ride.
Keep Your Daydream
Do you need the air to get the truck level?
Does the air improve the ride?
About how much PSI did you need?
I have noticed on some concrete highways a bouncing develops and gets worse at normal highway speeds - does air help?
Thanks for the suggestions
I'm a contractor and I agree to praise anyone when they do their job well. A "woodenisms" says "DO YOUR JOB" is appropriate.
Hi, did you have to adjust your hitch after installing the airbags?
Thanks
Maine. Should be this one... maybe the one before it. ruclips.net/video/Yp_RIDCAdlo/видео.html
The silver Bilstiens are great when loaded not so much when empty .
the one thumbs down is the guy that installed the ride-rite wrong.
Good one! #GrumpyViewers :)
@
And know how to spell the word "their" properly. Lol
ok ...So I was typing quickly. I Still work on My Own Truck ! I Dont need someone else to do it !!!
chuck usmc aaaaarrrrrrggghhh tough guy arrghh😂😂😂😂😂😂
You're right. I said Ford Platinum with the Raptor 6.2L engine. That engine is an option for the Platinums.
Your truck is so much nicer than I thought
That's right! :)
