I have one that has yellow legs , the rest are skin colored, the markings are perfect like these In the video, I love them, they do great in my backyard in Texas , I get 5-6 eggs per day from 5 hens , I'm going to find a great looking rooster from another farmer so I can sell chicks and have a separate coupe for meat birds, they are very calm , docile hens , quiet, they survived and thrived in the 108° Texas summer with a swamp cooler to keep production up and have some great in the 20° winter with no heater , no insulation on their coupe, just thicker hay bedding.
I have some customers that prefer Maran eggs for their dark brown rich eggs.. I also raise Maran chicks every year and sell them as eggs layers.. Hens are very docile but the Roos I’ve raised are not very friendly, they are extremely protective of their flock.. Great video thanks for sharing.
My Marans lays 1 a day at 8 month's old. Just turned into 30° low here in N.Central New Mexico. Today brought cool rain after 80° day temps No eggs yet.....brrrr
Barred Rocks should have crisp , distinct barring on the feather with white and dark slate , fine markings. Cuckoo Marans feathers are less distinctly marked with smoky lighter areas dividing the blue or slatey parts , the colouring sort of blending in to each shade. I had a Marans hen back in the 1970s in Scotland.
Mine have a slight blueish/green hue/shine on their black new winter feathers , they are soft beautiful birds.
I have Blue Cuckoo Marans, pronounced Maran, that have yellow legs with feathers down the outside. I love them.
Beautiful birds. I want to add some of these birds to my flock.

CM have pinkish white legs and feet where BR have yellowish legs and feet.
