Thank you, Janice! For watching and commenting. We hope it's worth noting we're trying awful hard with both our breeding and diet. Any input you can offer is greatly appreciated.
Your chickens are beautiful, healthy and happy! Thank for sharing your journey and for the opportunity to win hatching and eggs. I wish you continued success with your program! 👍
Good info, especially about the meal worms! Found you guys a while ago. Yeah, Black Cooper Maran Hatching Eggs are an AWESOME give away! Best of luck with you channel!
Great Content, Just bought me 1st BCM (1y Old Roo w 4 Hens) ~ But also ordered 18 GF Line BCM eggs, also ordered 12 Wheatens, & 12 Splash & Brichen Maran eggs for a Seperate Grouping
I would love to have some of your hatching eggs!! These Marans are my favorite breed!! I picked through comments and got your number and will be calling late March! Awesome video BTW!!
@@tigrisvalleyfarm thanks for the offer! Unfortunately our flock is at maximum capacity right now. I will be sure to look you up when it comes time for replacements! BTW… Just subscribed.😎
Hi, I saw this video. It is so cool. My son has been wanting to hatch BCM eggs. If you could let me know how to get some hatching eggs from you, that would be great.
I recently got 4 black copper hens and 1 rooster. They have just begun laying. The birds look true to the type but my hens egg color is barely darker than my barred rocks eggs.
Good news Mountain Man, you're not alone! We've witnessed hatcheries selling 'look-alike' Marans that display the characteristics but don't produce the dark eggs true Black Copper Marans are known for. As time progresses and chickens bloodlines are crossed this situation is likely to continue and worsen. The best way to combat it is to buy from reputable breeders where you can actually see the parent stock and ask pertinent questions. We plan on making a video of our stock so everyone can see their hatching eggs actual lineage. Thank you for commenting and watching!
@@tigrisvalleyfarm I just found your channel. I use to live in the Missouri Ozarks near Mountain View. Been living off grid almost 10 years now way down in the extreme south east corner of Arizona. My Maran chicks came from a feed store here.

It's been interesting to follow your progression with your flock. I believe I'm only a couple hours drive from you myself. I would like to also get hatching eggs from you when the time gets here.
Thank you, Eddie. We've started a list of people who want hatching eggs. As soon as we're sure the eggs are fertile (we check them regularly) we will be contacting those on the list. You would be third, just a guess, we're expecting to start collecting eggs mid March. That would probably work out hatching eggs for you around the first of April. If that's what you want to do.
Hi Ethan, we don't have a facebook or anything yet. I guess we're kinda old school as our phone is a landline, it doesn't get text. You're welcome to call us at 417-943-4141.
I've had that issue, too. Subscribed to a channel for a little while then go back and see I'm not? Must be the gremlins. Thanks for letting us know and commenting.
Wondering how long your keeping the hens separated from the roos (not chosen for breeding) in the flock? Ive heard it can take a couple months to ensure all sperm from other roos has cleared.
Christina! This (and a couple others) is a topic I wanted to cover in the next video. We're overhauling our old pen and separating hens with colored bands so we can keep track of their egg color. Parts of this Eglu video was filmed months ago because I'm not the best at putting things together quickly, lol! I will address this time period of hens and roos soon!
I would be interested in purchasing some of your hatching eggs we have just decided to add morans to our chickens. Please let me know how we may connect.
