This is the kind of stuff you don't get anywhere else and why I love this channel. There's just so much information out there and you guys do a phenomenal job of breaking it all down for the viewers. Great stuff.
Been watching/listening to you guys for almost two years, I can credit the JB team for reinvigorating my love for baseball! Thanks guys, keep up the amazing work! Best prospect guy in the game!
Wakatsuki, the catcher he usually pairs up with for the last few years, says that Yamamoto's best breaking ball pitch is his slider. However, Yamamoto has said he seldom throws sliders as it easily causes his elbow to become inflamed.
Interesting. He might throw an oldschool 'turn the doorknob-slider' where you throw it like a fastball but move your wrist/hand as if you're turning a doorknob on release. Nowadays basically everyone throws their sliders with their wrist pre-set. I saw his slider which looks like a sweeper, which might be hard with his arm angle. A gyro slider might be easier on his arm but then again that would look more like his splitter. Whatever the reason though, smart of him to not use the slider if it's causing him issues. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Experimenting a bit as it’s the first one so I appreciate the feedback. Was thinking about doing this as a series for other top IFA’s and prospects on the Call Up channel!
@@aramleighton4415Hey Aram, I just wanted to say that I appreciate all the work you do for Just Baseball and creating awesome content for us dedicated baseball fans! Your work on The Call Up is also incredible. I can't miss an upload, always learning about pop-up prospects and other unique coverage that isn't readily available in mainstream media!
You should check Imanaga's 4 seam fast ball. With the even lower release height and the spin rate above 2600, it might work better than Yamamoto's for the MLB hitters.
The Japanese media is reporting that Cashman of the Yanks is going to come hard for Yoshi with a 5-year, $200 million contract. The Japanese media is predicting that Yoshi will sign with the Yanks. We shall see.
Die HARD METS FAN over here so I hope we get him,but though we will offer the most money, this is by no means a guarantee that he is coming to us and any METS or fan of any team who saids that they know where he is going is full of it big time and is just looking 👀 to be throwing clickbait if he is a podcaster. That said,if we don’t get him,my only consolation would be that he does not sign with the Phillies,Braves,or Yankees because this would break my heart for obvious reasons. That said, this is a great time to be a METS fan. The atrocious and merciless era of the Wilpons is mercifully over. Our future is bright as we are building a dynasty (GOD willing🙏🏾). Yamamoto or no Yamamoto.LGM. METS FAN FOR LIFE!!!!
And Ohtani is also rehabbing from his 2nd Tommy John surgery, and won't pitch until 2025. Senga will eventually need Tommy John as well, you heard it here first.@@JustBaseballFans

Many have been successful, many have not. But with his numbers in Japan I'd bet he'd be a #1 or #2 starter in MLB. Supposedly is better than Masahiro Tanaka and he did pretty well so I'd expect even better.

This is awesome! Please do more videos like these!
Roki Sasaki next, right?? Right?? :)
Great video
If the Phillies don't get him I hope he doesn't go to another NL East team

Would be the No. 1 pitching prospect in baseball with ease.
Can't wait for more of this short form content. This quality of content is what elevates Just Baseball. Great work, Aram!
I hope you liked are most recent shorts!
Amazing breakdown. Never been more obsessed with a prospect than I am with Yamamoto.
hes not a prospect tho. hes already a superstar in japan. hes not ever going to the minors like prospects do
usually pitchers who aren't tall but still try to force fastballs like this will end up like Tim Lincecum
Yankees need to get The Admiral Yamamoto.

That video is coming!
⚾ 🇯🇵🔥🔥🔥
Come to the Braves!!!
Where do you get the pitch data from? Is it DeltaGraphs or somewhere else?
Edit: Nvm it seems you got it from Statcast data during the WBC
Sourced beyond that as well. His 2023 NPB season data is detailed in much of the video!
On pitching side, he’s better than shohei ohtani
Yes he is and it’s crazy that they will be teammates and one day even in the same pitching rotation 🤩🤩🤩

5 years for $200 million? Hard to believe the media would have access to that kind of specific information.

4 no hitters, or 2 no hitters? you say 4 but show 2
Yeah that was our mistake. Correct answer is 2!
He plays in the same league as Jake Nix.
No no no too mucho
300m
🔥🔥
Those hitters are scrubs😮
Yup. And he’s going to the Yankees.
Lol
Those pitches will be hit in MLB I think hitters will adjust I don't think he's worth the money
The answer is absolutely not. What is the trend for Japanese pitcher coming over to MLB from Japan?
Uhhh Shohei Ohtani is a pretty good pitcher and Kodai Senga was one of the better pitchers in baseball this year!
And Ohtani is also rehabbing from his 2nd Tommy John surgery, and won't pitch until 2025. Senga will eventually need Tommy John as well, you heard it here first.@@JustBaseballFans
