Let’s take a moment to really appreciate the side-by-side comparison and the amount of effort they must have been put into being able to have both videos match it’s utterly impressive thank you so much for taking the extra time for doing that
I own a stinger GT and my friend owns the 2022 g70. I drove my friend's new g70. it's a tough choice I don't know which one I like better. G70 smaller more nimble. Stinger larger more comfortable and the hatchback makes it convenient.. The g70 feels just a little quicker. I think my stinger gets more looks but I love my friends g70 interior. Either one is a great choice. Don't bother wasting time looking at the Germans unless you're willing to spend another 15 to 20K for the same performance and half the warranty.
Was looking for comment/comparison like this forever. Thanks for yr review. The only thing that makes me want to buy g 70 and not stinger is rear design of a car. Tail lights specifically. Just doesnt sit on me lol.
@@silverx5733 I own the 2022 G70 and the one thing I love about it the most is that I hardly ever see them on the road. I will see 3 or 4 stingers every day and I have seen 2 G70s on the road in the past 6 months. Nobody knows what the G70 is somebody always comes up to me at the gestations and asks me what car kind of car it is.
Warrant yeah but not price. The S4 is a strong competitor for around the same price. I think the front styling on both the Korean cars is a bit polarizing. The back of the stinger is *Chef’s kiss though
@Chad Jackson nope!!!!! That interior looks like shit for a car that price! Kia looks better. Genesis better badge. It’s needs refresh. The sonata high trim looks better interior wise
It's so interesting to see the price comparisons against Canadian models. The fully loaded Stinger is almost the exact same price in CAD, which makes it effectively a 44-45K US car in Canadian money. The G70 sells also around the same price in CAD. Due to a few reasons, Korean cars are extremely better deals in Canada than the US, one of the few ever incidences of such in the car market.
Thanks guys. Currently leasing a 2021 K5 GT-Line and Love it. I like the Genesis luxury look but the Stinger is definitely more aggressive looking - I think for me it would be point Stinger.

And here's one more thing to keep in mind is that the 2021 models are going to be getting some seriously big discounts to move them off the dealer's lots as more 2022's start to come in. I got mine for just over 40K before tags tax and title.
I think the G70 is a perfect option for people who appreciate the Stingers performance, but are not fond of the Stringers “sportback” design. I am personally not a fan of this design, so id 100% put the G70 over the Stinger any day.
Dude, amazing video editing and coordination. Specifically you took the time to record one to one on each car. This is unique to other video creators. Now what is left is higher qualify resolution / voice quality.
Great video. I just bought a 2022 Genesis G70 3.3T in Tasman Blue (same color shown in Video) and Dune Brown Interior. This thing rides and is comfortable. Love it.
@@CarConfections imo it is. I am a white exterior, black interior kind of guy. I love the tuxedo type look generally but the blue/brown color combo got me.
This is a close comparison! Very impressed with how the Koreans are going after the Japanese & German competition. As you stated this comparison is so close it will come down to personal preference by individual. I recently drove the Stinger GT2 & the G70 Prestige and I’ll give the win to Stinger in my opinion. Both great vehicles tho. Good comparison.
Excellent comments Roger. I debated between the Stinger and the G70 last year when I bought my Stinger. Both great cars but the 7 year warranty and the cheaper price here for the Stinger in Australia and the aggressive sporty looks of the Stinger won. If the Stinger didn't exist, I would have happily got the G70 as I had been in one and it was fantastic just like the Stinger.
One thing to note I was cross shopping these two vehicles in 2019 and you can get thousands more in discounts off of the stinger. I guess it’s harder to sell a Kia for 50,000 than a Genesis. At the time I liked the design of the G 70 better but I couldn’t pass up 9000 in discounts. Also not something that I use every day but the ability to fold down the seats in a hatchback and throw my bike in the back or some other large object has really come in handy
While I’m sport mode +, the G70 dishes out the extra 3HP putting it at the same 368 as the Stinger. Overall, it’s the same exact engine / build so you can’t really do any comparison past the interior/ exterior design, it’s really all preference.. just to some up the video that’s all that truly makes a difference with these 2 cars and matters besides the cost
i actually own a 2022 G70 sport advanced, and i love it. i drove the stinger beforehand and i was just as impressed but the g70 was a better looking car to me
I've seen the Kia Stinger GT2 driven more on the road. However, after seeing the Genesis G70, I love the design, look and performance. Thanks for the comparison.
Four months ago I got a Stinger GT-Line and have loved every minute of ownership. I have always been a car guy and at age 80 I figured I would go out in style. The 300hp engine gets you where you need to go in a hurry unless you are 25 and still unsure of your manhood. I have nothing to prove. This is a great driver's car and the look is sporty enough to attract attention wherever I go.
@@stephenjablonsky1941haha I bet.I'm 40 and just got the stinger GT Line 2023 instead of the twin turbo GT2, I don't need the extra HP either love this car so much so far.
Exactly. The G70 is great for a single person. You include any more people and forget it. The trunk of the G70 is small, and the back seat is almost a joke…
@@ashishshrestha2803 Lots of single people like 4-door cars for convenience, including me. And I have friends I drive around occasionally, so I would like them to feel comfortable in the back seat. So, I don’t see the issue.

They are fundamentally the same car with a different steering & suspension tune with the obvious cosmetic changes. The hatchbacks are just more practical. Stinger wins. But the genesis looks 👌 nice too
I’m currently in the market for one of these cars so thank you for the comprehensive video. Either is a good choice, it comes down to personal preference. I guess that I’ll find out - G70 for me
If you actually take the time to drive both, the G70 wins. The cars are so neck to neck that you actually have to see them in person and drive them to make your final decision.
The stinger only has those beautiful quad tips. But the Genesis G70 got everything plus luxury appeal. I bought a G70 3.3t Sport Prestige RWD in Black (it's a slight pearl with flakes, not a flat black, amazing paint job!) with Gray interior. Constantly getting looks and people shocked how nice Korean Luxury can be. The power slides and donuts are amazing! Can't wait to tune it with an OBDII tune getting it to 450+hp and 450+ft/lb tq. I don't care about trunk space, so much so that I used the entire G70 trunk for subwoofers lol if I cared about space, I'd buy an SUV (which my wife has)
I purchased the 2022 G70 Havana Red Sport Prestige a month ago. I have always loved Genesis Cars. (Had a 2019 g80 before this and it was my favorite car of all! I didn’t care for the interior nor the exterior of new G80’s.Really didn’t like price tag either!) My daughter and mom own a Kia so I wanted something different. The only advantage I see is the trunk space. I think the genesis is a sleeker car than the Stinger and am enjoying mine!
The Genesis is a fantastic looking full featured Luxury sedan. I've been looking at a G90 lease returns with 20,000 or less miles that has a 5.0 V8 with 425 horsepower or the 3.3 TT V6 365 HP that includes a transferable factory warranty. That puts a check mark for performance to go with the luxury and the price of a certified G90 Is thousands less than a new one making it an amazing deal. Thanks for the comparison sealing the deal for my purchasing a Genesis..
Thank you for all of the time you put into yourself content. I follow your videos and am usually in agreement. Here is where that trend breaks. I’ve sampled both the G70 & the Stinger and that 6” is clearly represented in the rear seating area. Where you have those front seats positioned is fine for someone 5’2” but if you have anyone 5’10” or taller in those seats the rear seat behind them is like sitting in the back of a GTI. They’re both really cool cars though.
I have '21 Stinger which cost thousands less than either of these models. I got to look at a G70 just this morning....definitely more luxurious interior and higher setting. I wasn't looking for bells and whistles. I was after the 3.4 liter twin turbo engine at thousands less. I love my stinger but am sure the G70 would put the same smile on my face.
Can't go wrong with either car!! I kinda prefer the exterior looks of the Stinger and the interior materials of the G70! By the way with a quick tune these cars become mush faster! Great job guys 👏👍
I just don't understand US pricing. In every other market, the G70 is more expensive than the Stinger. You might expect this, since Genesis is a premium/luxury brand. Still, LOVE both of these cars!
I just order the stinger, only I had to go all out and get the scorpion edition, go hard or go home! only problem is i gotta wait till jan or feb to get it, and it's only Oct, great vlog and the stinger is the one for me!!
Love my g70 I would say if you're going for a straight a sports car feel and look stinger if you want a more luxury feel I would go with the g70 exterior looks tough choice between the 2 like Apple and oranges interior tho I'd say g70
It should come down to need. My Genesis G70 is my personal vehicle, I don't carry passengers or cargo (except maybe 2% of the time when my wife is with me). We have two other vehicles, an SUV and 2012 Hyundai Azera. We have the passenger and cargo space taken care of. If this is going to be your only vehicle, I would say choose the Kia Stinger Gt. It's fast and has cargo and passenger room. If you're like me, and don't need the cargo and passenger room, choose the Genesis G70.
Glad to see the Stinger finally upgraded the Shift Knob. The previous one sucked. I bought the G70. The three years of free maintenance and concierge service made the difference. Now they need to get their own dealerships.
Why don't they have more Kia Stingers at the dealerships. I would like to see the color of the car and overall look up close, and test drive the car before I purchase it. The dealerships around my area (radius 100 miles) might have just one on there lot.
I typically want luxury items in the cabin, exceptional sound system, elegant looks, & performance to move. Probably leaning towards the Genesis, but neither will be ignored. 🎯🔥👍🏾
One of the reasons why I bought the Stinger even though the G70 is a fine car. I can't see nearly 23K worth of difference given they are affectively the same car just marketed differently.
The G70 is way more attractive in my opinion. Smooth and sensuous lines without some of the awkward elements that make the Kia Stinger look weird from some angles. Also looks more luxurious inside and out and is actually cheaper to boot
Genesis is slightly quicker due to being lighter and mpg is slightly better stinger’s weight is in the back and may help it stay planted on turns. Both have panoramic sun roof rattle issue…..
Got the stinger over the G70 because the hatch and more spacious back seats gave more versatility. With no issue, can put a full load of groceries or suitcases with the older kids in back with enough leg room. With those back seats down, I can make a lumber run at Home Depot. I could not do that with the G70- kids would be b*tch*ng about their lack of room.
I had a stinger 2020 GT line so only the I4. I wanted the TT V6 but wasn’t in the budget. Now I have the 2023 G70 3.3T sport prestige and have to say I like the Genesis more. The only draw back is the trunk is smaller.
Let’s take a moment to really appreciate the side-by-side comparison and the amount of effort they must have been put into being able to have both videos match it’s utterly impressive thank you so much for taking the extra time for doing that

Very smart review, one of the best I have seen ! Keep up the good work and thank you 🙏 P.S. I’m not related 🤣
G70 Monday thru Friday
Stinger for the weekend
I have '21 Stinger which cost thousands less than either of these models. I got to look at a G70 just this morning....definitely more luxurious interior and higher setting. I wasn't looking for bells and whistles. I was after the 3.4 liter twin turbo engine at thousands less. I love my stinger but am sure the G70 would put the same smile on my face.
This is by far one of the best comparisons I've ever seen. Amazing.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed 👍
G70 looks very classy and same power train that does it 4 me
Stinger. I have a GT2 and will definitely upgrade.
To what? GT2 is top of the line.
i like the genesis because it has a more elegant look. suit and tie look. both are great!! gvreat job fellas!!!
Can't go wrong with either car!! I kinda prefer the exterior looks of the Stinger and the interior materials of the G70! By the way with a quick tune these cars become mush faster! Great job guys 👏👍
Can**
I have a Stingergt2 and it's just a blast to drive. Have many mods dealership says that it has 560 bhp. Traded my Cadillac CT6 for it. Love the car.
I believe another big difference is the awd g70 has an lsd and you can transfer 100% power to the rear wheels.
My favorite explanation and comparing side by side channel.
Thanks! 😎
185k miles on my 2019 Stinger GT1. Not a single problem. And I pull a trailer with it. It couldn’t have been a better car.
I like both but went with the stinger, as it’s much more unique looking. Turns heads much more too. But I would drive either gladly.
Glad to see the Stinger finally upgraded the Shift Knob. The previous one sucked. I bought the G70. The three years of free maintenance and concierge service made the difference. Now they need to get their own dealerships.
The top end Stinger has always had that shifter
Well done! Just the vid I was looking for. Thanks!
Why don't they have more Kia Stingers at the dealerships. I would like to see the color of the car and overall look up close, and test drive the car before I purchase it. The dealerships around my area (radius 100 miles) might have just one on there lot.
After the refresh, the new 2022 units have been selling fast in our hot market. It was also hard for us to find one to review
Do you not understand what's going on with the chip shortage?
Just bought a gt2 I’m in love with it
I would mix Kia exterior and Genesis interior. 🙂 But overall i think Kia looks better.
Have a look at the Stinger they get in Korea. Has an almost identical interior to the G70.
Too boy racey looking. No thanks
I typically want luxury items in the cabin, exceptional sound system, elegant looks, & performance to move. Probably leaning towards the Genesis, but neither will be ignored. 🎯🔥👍🏾
I'm a fan of the genesis anesthetic... so clean
In Australia the Stinger is $67,000 and g70 high $90's Aud$
One of the reasons why I bought the Stinger even though the G70 is a fine car. I can't see nearly 23K worth of difference given they are affectively the same car just marketed differently.
@@belvederedog2563 Same, and the Stinger is just more practical imo.
@@rompastompa8598 Agreed totally
I just bought the 2022 stinger and when i tell you i really love that car i mean i really love that car.
They're both on par with each other, and gorgeous vehicles, but I prefer the Genesis style overall.
They don't have panoramic roofs
Genesis is a better car for less money! The choice should be easy! Stinger is definitely a beautiful ride though
Both are excelent cars for the money tbh
Good review!!
Thanks!
This video really helped me decide. I'm definitely going to keep my Tesla model 3.
I love the exterior design and the interior quality of the genesis g70 better
I LOVE BOTH CARS..
THEY HAVE PUT OUT SOME SERIOUS CARS FOR THE DOLLAR.
NOTHING IS BETTER FOR THE $$ YOU SPEND !!!
I had a stinger 2020 GT line so only the I4. I wanted the TT V6 but wasn’t in the budget. Now I have the 2023 G70 3.3T sport prestige and have to say I like the Genesis more. The only draw back is the trunk is smaller.
Great review! I really appreciate the side-by-side (or top-to-bottom) comparisons between the two vehicles. Very nicely done!
Thank you! 😁
