@Peacekeepa317 it was a freed slave community that was thriving 🙌 they terrorized and tortured the freed people there killed them burn down the homes and businesses. Then turned it into a recreational lake. EVIL JUST EVIL.

My parents served 30 years in the United States Air Force and when we lived in Guam these snails lived around us - We would take salt and pour it on it and they would die.

Should not have made a lake where freed slaves lived and thrived. It should be banned from use as a recreational lake.😢

Googled it. They are edible and are eaten... So cook them good and chow down

Some garlic, lemon grass, fresh dice chili, salt, fish sauce, ginger. Bring to light boil with lid on for about 12 mins. That should kill any parasites and you got yourself a meal.

The first question I ask when this happens is if the species is edible. If it is then unlimited harvest will help a lot. Asian carp are edible for example.

During the late 1800’s Alma, Michigan was home to wealthy lumber families. One loved to eat the large French snails and brought them into the local river. Now there are many snails within easy reach. They appear to be the same kind in our river as in Georgia, and no one thinks anything about them. Perhaps Georgia could eat the snails into extinction.

    • @tarabooartarmy3654

They said in the video they are full of parasites, so not a good idea to eat them. Snails get inedible tough if they are overcooked, and heat doesn’t always kill all parasites, especially when you can’t cook something very long.
