What's "old school"? Is there a new school? Or just bad singing these days? He sings this aria the way it should be sung....old school or today's school. Unfortunately the GOOD teachers these days don't know how to teach this kind of singing anymore.
I heard him yesterday as Andrea Chenier in Berlin and he is absolutely the best tenor I have heard live by now! I didn't even know such singing can be found on the main operatic stages of the world these days, considering what has become of opera. Hunderds of other singers aren't even worthy to clean his shoes. I hope he'll manage to get through and build a career, he should be a superstar. Maybe it will raise the standards of singing today.

I didn't have the luck to find a good voice teacher so I had to trust my instincts. it is a long way for every singer who wants to sing more then 5 years. your words are too nice and I actually really do not deserve them! But I promise I will do everything to deserve them!!!

i found him when looking for a Brazilian baritone, Martin Muehle is really surprising. He seems to be one of the singers who flys under the radar of the big event managements, but who can live very well in the opera world of the best German Theaters, Stuttgart, Berlin, Hannover... Papano seems to lost an important part the hearing that he hypes Kaufmann. It is really very embarrassing to see that Vogt and Kaufmann have become the epitome of German tenors.

Very beautiful voice- certainly reminds me of Bergonzi. May he have a long and successful career. One issue that haunts - why do so many singers [in all ranges] seem to have shorter careers due to vocal problems, earlier and earlier. Is jet travel that permits crossing numerous time zones so quickly a contributing factor? Thank you.
Thank you so much. I don't have an answer to your question, but I believe many factors would contribute to that. What I often experience is young singers, sometimes with a beautiful voice, singing big rep way too early, meaning their instruments aren't yet technically ready. That is a time bomb. Klingt live noch viel besser... Eine tolle Stimme, mit dem gehörigen Schuss Italianita, beseelt, auf der Bühne spielfreudig.. Ich hörte ihn, eingesprungen für Alagna als Andrea Chenier ..unvergessen. Auch wenn seit diesem Ausschnitt fast 10 Jahre vergangen sind, ich wünsche ihm eine lange Karriere und das er seine schöne Stimme so lange es geht, bewahren möge. Bravo!

@@sananton2821 capisco il suo gusto molto raffinato nella materia, purtroppo non posso aiutarla . se mi ricordo bene nel 1956 il registro acuto tenorile dipendeva non solo della bellezza naturale di una voce giovane ma anche dalla base della tecnica . questo bravissimo giovane tenore ha una bellissima voce ,come canta? lascio agli altri intenditori sensibili la possibilità di esprimersi. per me lei è un dilettante maleducato nella materia. il vecchio PS nel medium questo bravo tenore fa quello che può …/intonazione precaria ./
I don´t want to be too critical but all the qualities singers likeCorelli, Bergonzi or di Stefano had, are missing here. Muehle sounds short on breath, I miss a good legato, his voice sounds forced most of the time and there are no emotions in his singing. I don´t fall for loud tenors and still miss the really good ones.

He's old school. My first time hearing this voice. Bright, squillante and sounds huge!
