Fascinating analysis of the potential NATO peacekeeping scenario in Ukraine. The discussion about the 40,000-troop requirement really highlights the logistical complexity of securing such a vast frontline. The interplay between Trump's 'America First' stance and Zelenskyy's need for U.S. involvement presents a crucial diplomatic challenge. What's particularly interesting is how this could affect NATO's internal dynamics - especially given the UK's resource constraints and Trump's demands for increased European defense spending. I wonder how smaller NATO members might position themselves in this arrangement? Could this lead to a more multilateral European defense structure, or will it reinforce U.S. leadership in NATO?

    • @terryharris1291

I suspect that Russia will never agree to a European peace keeping force and Nato re-arming and training Ukraine army. Russia could not keep up with the supplies of stored surrplus equipment from the US . Russia will just demand the capitulation of Ukraine before peace talks start.
So Trump will accept that peace talks will not happen and re-arm Ukraine to the hilt on a lend lease deal, he likes his deals. No cost to the US tax payer. By the end of 2026 Russia will be out of Kherson and Zaporzhzhia oblasts, out of Crimea and his bridge will be gone.

We are not going to risk war without the US with the US making all the ammo with the weapons we bought. We need garanties that you'll be fighting with us if Russia want to attack the DMZ. Otherwise those nukes need to go and all US weapons sold. Never liked US nukes on our land without control of the red button anyways. We're a massive target because of those nukes.

US can give Ulraine, on lend lease, enough equipment to remove Russia. In 2023 US gave 31 old M1Abrams tanks. Sell them on lend lease 500-700 M1Abrams tanks the old ones with some upgrades with newer electronics and reactive armour. Sell them 1500 bradleys. Russia has nuclear submarines patrolling the Atlantic and Pacific with enough nukes to destroy the planet many times over, and if you corner them by sending missiles into Russia they might respond in haste or even by accident. It could be something like what happened in a great movie called " The Bedford Incident", I mean it's a must see.
