Good video Camille. There are sooo many variations as to why you would or wouldn’t dig a target. Time poor is a good one. You are in high discrimination, imagine what it would be like if you were in full open 🤣🤣🤣. At the end of the day just get out there and use the machine. Get used to it and every target dug adds to your knowledge. Well done mate 😁👍
Thank you most people don’t show what not to dig you always see the great finds. I love the way you may leave some iffy signals when you turn 90 deg and the numbers jump around, and raising the coil really tells you if it is a big item. Happy Hunting🤠
Good morning Camille, I usually work my way down through the readings and audio, if it's an extra hot day, it's generally a short hunt, and high targets are all I chase, the same goes for days where there's a high chance of rain. But I always go back and chase those poorer signals, because, quite frankly, I always wonder what I might have left behind, plus I can't help myself, I just have to know, I have to dig them! And usually a good percentage of them are trash, but occasionally the find can be far better than you expected, coins, silver or copper, a sterling silver broach standing upright at depth, and relics that may not have any great value in there makeup, but are well worth it in what they represent, A case in point was a small container about 5 mill thick about the height and width of a match box. It had been silver plated, but what stood out about it was the words stamped into its face, SS Medic! A white star liner that had served as a troop ship for Aussie troop transport during the Boer war and WW1, sometimes it's the history of the find, more than its quality that makes an iffy signal worth the dig I do dig everything, but I do it in stages. And it can be worth it! Plus you never know what that iffy signal might be masking. Cheers!
💯 agree with you. Always go back and dig it all. You never know what is masking a good target and how the target is laying in the ground… and whether there has been rain… and if there is EMI… and so many variables. Cheers as always Wayne. Take care mate 👍
Great video Camille.Like you say, there are so many variables.Like all of us,I've dug lots of good signals that ended up being trash. And also iffy signals that ended up being coins or something good.Sometimes if time poor over a questionable target,I will sweep slowly over the target in pin point mode and keep walking if the target is big-especially big and shallow.Cheers.
Thanks so much Gary. So many variables affect the signal and whether to dig or not. That’s why I go back to sites multiple times and uptime dig everything if I can. You learn so much from digging trash as well as treasure.
This helps reaffirm what I've been learning with my Manti. Learning to trust that 2D indicator! I dig much less trash when i do. Happy Hunting, thanks for the Vids!
Hey Cam, nice informative video 😊 One of the things I am selective with, is raising the detector coil and seeing if it still registers, to me with the sites I am detecting recently, it’s most likely to be pieces of metal. I do try to leave them 😂 Sometimes I may dig a couple, just in case 🤙🏻😉
Hey Lee I am a big fan of the just in case and always err on the dig it all side because there are just so many reasons and variables. A large cap gun or a metal printing plate… great finds… but can be large. My 1873 French France cigar cutter registered so large when I swung over it… because it had a long silver chain attached to it stretched out. Soooooo glad I dug it. From a hunted out location - I only found that beauty and 1 penny that day. 😮 Soooo lucky. Love ya work.
Good day Camille I just started detecting thanks to CBK only been doing it less than a year so I dig most anything I have found some cool stuff stay safe and God Bless
Good arvo' first of all love ya videos! And that shovel ❤ learning my manticore at present only been on a couple digs and while I'm not custom set n only doing the beach at the moment I'm starting to learn the tones to targets recovered but still digging everything 😅
Gday Josh and thank you 🙏 At the beach I would absolutely dig everything and not discriminate anything out because theres a much better chance of finding gold than where I am currently digging. I also use the Nokta Pulse dive in the water and love that it responds to metal and I just search for it. No discriminating at all. All the best with the Manticore. It really is such a capable detector and so much fun to use and find cool things. Catch you next video hopefully 🤞 Happy hunting.
I am 100% selective, especially when I'm short on time. I've had such a hard time learning the Manticore, coming from the Vanquish 540. I've watched so many videos on what targets are good and etc., but never the bad! This helps immensely, as it is still tough for me to identify those sketchy signals that aren't worth my time diggin' in the dirt! Thank you for showing us the weird sketchy stuff to watch out for!
Hey and thanks so much. I’ve spent many hours on the V540. My kids use it and the Nox800. It’s quite a jump from the V540 to the Manticore because the V is really just turn on and go. But the Manticore has soooo many options and so much info to interpret with the 2D screen. Good on you though. You have made a great choice with the M. And the more hours you spend on it and the more holes you dig the more you learn. Cheers for your support and watching!!

Right. 💯 % agree 👍 Just keep on swinging and keep on grinning. 😀 Thanks again CBK!! 🙏🙌
Hi Camille agree with your appraisal of the signals dig or not to dig
finding/researching areas to detect reveals some interesting history
👍
Thanks so much!! All the best. Camille

Thanks Darren. I appreciate your comment and wish you all the best on your hunts. Keep swinging and grinning and good luck 😉

Good day Camille I just started detecting thanks to CBK only been doing it less than a year so I dig most anything I have found some cool stuff stay safe and God Bless
I am definitely a dig it all detectorist and if I discrimate out or leave targets I do return to sites and dig it all. Take care and all the best 👍

Enjoyable all the same, and a good test :)
Thank you 🙏
I do pretty much the same thing.Except on the way back I check a few of the places I passed up before.
Nice. I like it. All the best 👍
Nice video. I like what you showed here. I’m going to try to be more selective and see.
Favorite find this week..is your channel!. 😊 Refreshing.
