That’s awesome man! I’m going to eventually get that one too. The first time I saw the 5150 was when Eddie used it in the Panama video. The strat body with the hockey stick headstock is classic!!
@@darthvaydr Same here! Essentially, all the videos from 1984. It really took hold for me after I bought Live Without A Net on VHS in '86, even though he used the Steinberger on Summer Nights, Get Up, half of I Can't Drive 55, and Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love. Watching 316 in all it's glory solidified the Kramer 5150 as my favorite EVH guitar.
Great vid. Man... I really enjoyed this. I can NOT seem to get enough Van Halen these days, and especially, the Great Edward Van Halen. A piece of me went, when he left us. Still hard to believe he isn't with us any more. He changed my Life, and Van Halen was with me through everything. Funny too - I was also 13 in 1983 - just like you. Van Halen has been the Central piece of the Soundtrack of my Life. And I have recently just gotten my first Frankenstrat. That's a long story. LOL Big time modding project, but it came out AWESOME. Anyway - great vid, Bro!
Thanks man much appreciated! It still bothers me that he’s gone. It hit me like it did with some people when Elvis passed away. But he left us with the best music and he will never be forgotten. That’s great about getting your first Frankenstrat. Congratulations!! Every time I look at both of mine it takes me back to Jr High and High school days. In addition to the bumblebee I also have the Frankie so check out my other videos!
@@darthvaydr Awesome Bro! I subbed you, so I will check your other stuff out too. Thank you for the gracious reply, and yes. I am still bothered by Edward's passing too. I am living a very nice and fulfilled life. Not much passing me by. But darned if it just doesn't hurt... just a little bit. He was like a little piece of me. OK - all the best! I'll be checking your other vids out.
Congratulations. I purchased the white striped EVH guitar, what a let down, tremolo was screwed up, d tuna didn't work, neck needed shimmed. For the price point forget it. God bless EVH.
Man I’m sorry to hear about the trem and dtuna on you guitar. The trem on my EVH Frankie had gritty fine tuners so I switched it to a real German Floyd Rose and it is SO much better. Were you able to get yours fixed? If not, consider getting a real Floyd Rose. You won’t regret it! Thanks for watching!
If I remember correctly, I think I paid $700 through Musicians Friend. My rep gave me a good deal and price matched another vendor plus took off 15%. It’s a fantastic guitar!
What is way better about the regular Floyd over the EVH? How is there no comparison? I mean, that kind of statement makes me think the EVH doesn't even stay in tune.
If you owned an EVH, you would know. there are countless videos on RUclips or guitar players have pointed this out. The Floyd Rose trems that come from EVH are made in Mexico. They are hit and miss at best. Some work fairly well and some are crap. The main complaint is that the fine tuners are very hard to turn and feel very gritty. It’s a machine issue, not lack of lubricant. The German Floyd Rose trems are made much better with quality metals and machined properly.
I bought the 5150 striped and couldn't be happier.

Yup, love my 🐝 best axe I’ve ever had🔥🤘❣️
Nice guitar video! I just bought the Red, White and Black 5150. I hope it is a good guitar.
Thanks! When you get the 5150c please let me know what you think of it! I’ve been thinking about buying that one myself!

@@darthvaydr no, I returned it. For that amount of money I'm throwing money away. I'll look for something used or better. Thank you.
I've heard similar feedback with all of the striped series of guitars. It's hit or miss, which is a bad look for EVH gear.
My b/w striped was great , however the Frankie I bought recently was a dud. Same issues you listed. Returned it.
Beautiful guitar.enjoy it.
Enjoyed the video
Thanks for watching!
I just dont understand why they went with basswood and not ash. Its the only thing holding me back.
@@robertlevasseur8896 I agree but the guitar still sounds amazing!
You are living my dream😂
If I may ask, how much did you pay for it?

I bought one but got rid of it..extremely buzzy bright pickup..but neck is great..
Thougjt the stripes were yellow - not orange.
They are a fairly bright yellow. Could be the lighting that’s making them look orange to you.
Guitarist
Pretty flimsy packaging.
I'm surprised there wasn't significant damage to the guitar itself, given the way package-handlers just throw around boxes.
