- NASCAR The Game 2011 was one of the most memorable NASCAR games of the last 20 years for all of the wrong reasons. The game had great hype leading up to it only for it to be relatively unfinished and fall flat on its face to the disappointment of NASCAR fans everywhere. Today we are gonna look back at this both for old times sake as well as a way to put things into perspective for the modern day game releases. This is the most disappointing NASCAR game ever.

What were your thoughts on NASCAR The Game 2011?
Underrated
Played it before, and it’s honestly not bad. At least it had good physics, something we haven’t had since the eutechnyx (hope I spelled it right) era.
I played it along time ago it’s not that bad it’s Underrated

I remember EA’s last NASCAR game (not including Kart Racing) was 09 which was made in 2008 and there was no Game until this one released in 2011 so everyone was way too hyped and it couldn’t meet expectations

NASCAR 2011 is just fun. Not really a game to treat like iRacing, it’s just fun to sit down and play, especially eliminator racing

I remember being on the forum for this game and the developers admitted they had never even watched a race before nearing the end of development. That coupled with the game not working and NO REAR MIRROR. I played it once and junked it.

I just miss when the games would actually show you replays of cautions when they happen.
I remember playing this game on the Wii back when I was 10 lol, I thought it was good back then. There were a lot of issues with it, but as a kid you can look past a lot of it and have fun with the game.

My favorite memory of NTG 11 was that on release day all of the NASCAR people stopped playing GT5 and started playing NTG, and by the next day, half of them came back to GT5.
I remember playing Inside Line at my cousin’s for hours. That game was awesome

Played Inside Line recently and honestly if that was the first game from this group it would’ve been a really good first step.
Been playing since nascar 1998-1999, so the very beginning of the start of the modern non arcade style racing that’s pretty much been the base of what we see today. There was more features in nascar heat 2000 than some of the games in the last ten years have had. And I’m sorry but I won’t support NASCAR 21 putting a game out even the supposed one day patch is to fix all these bugs (I’ve counted over 30 moderate to major bugs/issues that should NOT BE A PROBLEm) these games have fallen off and continue to look better visually but the lack of content is just pitiful. I will hold your money until this is 30-40$ with the dlc included,
Well, now that NASCAR 21 IGNITION is out, we have a new worst NASCAR game.
I've been playing Nascar games for almost 20 years. Nascar 09 was the first game I ever played online, and it was actually very fun. Don't recall any bad issues regarding online game play. NTG2011 was a different story. It was rough lol.

2011 was my first nascar game. I was 4 or 5 and my dad whos into nascar got it. I never found it glitchy or poor quality, although I was 5. But I remember fondly about nascar the game 2011

I don’t get the hate 08 gets to me it’s one of the best games I loved it especially how in season mode you switched between the gen 4 car and the cot during the season like the real nascar season
08 gets the hate that it gets because on 360 and PS3 at least, the handling is the worst anyone has ever had in a NASCAR game. I've still never completed a race due to the instability of the handling/physics. It was atrocious.
I remember in nascar 08 for Xbox 360 the cot would just randomly flip at Bristol
I hated that they would add non cup drivers and like you said during the early 2010 era they definitely had more than 43 drivers show up for qualifying so they definitely had drivers that actually ran cup. It’s weird playing the game knowing they left out drivers like regan smith, Casey mears, Landon cassil, Dave blaney and more.
The cars front end disintegrated from bump drafting and pit stops were more of a theoretical physics experiment than actual strategy

That is a massive yikes. But now I have to ask the question: What would you recommend getting as far as Nascar game now? Games such as Heat 3, Heat 4 and Heat 5 seem like solid choices, compared to the alternatives of Nascar 21 or emulating one of the older games.
NASCAR 08 and 09 are some of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had. Your actually nuts if you think this 21 game and heat games are better then 08-09 and 2011. You really don’t know the nascar gaming community.

I thought the graphics were good and it wasn't all that bad. Better than Heat so far. But give it time. They put this game together pretty fast. I bet next year will be better. Very happy to see a paint booth though.

NASCAR The Game 2011 was the last new NASCAR game I ever played. I didn't own it, it was on a friend's Wii. Was good for a laugh, but that's about it haha.
I actually liked NTG2011 it was the first game I ever played, that was most likely a contributing factor for my interest for Nascar.

I also rember it well, it wasn’t my first nascar game that was nt2003 which I loved I also played nt2005 total team control and I think nascar 07 or 08. But the reason I liked this game was probably because I was about 11-12 when I got it. But I have gone back and played it on the wheel when I was about 17-19 and it wasn’t to bad the damage model is stupid sensitive. And the one real glitch I had was at darlington when the AI would try to put they’d make a traffic jam that congested the whole track. But i rember the physics being fun with no assists on on the wheel, the car being slidey and having weight and the car getting worse and looser off corner exit the more the rears wore. I don’t think this game was that bad personally not good but not terrible just kinda eh and having its moments

Honestly, I really enjoyed 2011, I remember getting it summer vacation that year, and I played it almost everyday, sure it wasn't the best, but I liked it, and inside line on were truly amazing in my opinion

I remember the graphics were bad when you were drafting and after you win a race you only had 30 seconds to do a burnout which to me was stupid. 30 seconds!? What were they thinking. Also they had every driver doing a backflip after every victory.
I remember looking at this game and Skyrim and well... i made a decision i never forgot. This game made me so mad... and playing Skyrim later. I think this was my second worst purchase.
Worst was being hyped up for Madden 13.
I really am disappointed that Inside Line got overshadowed by 2011, I still unironically play it today, and it's defiantly in the top 10 of NASCAR console games (which albeit that isn't too hard to get into with how much of a dud the Heat series was and the later EA games were, and hell, even the rest of the Eutechnyx games were)

Lmao nascar ignition is so bad that nascar is likely terminating their license with MSG. I grew up with nascar 2011 and played the hell out of it. Sure it was glitchy but the overall physics and gameplay of a game in 2011 being better than a game coming out in 2022 is inexcusable
I think it was EA Sports NASCAR 05 with Kevin Harvick on the cover was the best damn NASCAR games ever made and you started at the bottom driving the featherlights and you signed contracts throughout the whole NASCAR series. And yes NASCAR 2011 Nascar Fastlane Frontline or front-row those games were garbage
For real, I thought NASCAR Evolution would of got more hype than anything since after the disappointing of Eutechnyx games and the fact it was made by the same people who made the NASCAR Heat series & Dirt to Dayton. The same games that were just as good as EA NASCAR games so huh 🤔.
Nascar 2021 is worse than 2011. I have so far successfully finished two multiplayer races without any glitches. The career and every mode is just unplayable. The game is hot garbage.
For the record. NASCAR 09 online lobbies have still yet to be matched. Between actually having an organized gaming community and being the most troll preventing online game, it set the bar high. Now that the younger generation of gamers have came in, they’ll never understand what a good online nascar game is like.
As a European, I'm not even allowed to be disappointed since this was the only game that was released in Belgium apart from NASCAR '14 and the EA games. We didn't even had the choice to buy Inside Line lol
Funny thing about the EA era is most people on the forums back then actually hated the EA games and preferred Heat/Dirt2Daytona but now everyone looks back and realizes they weren't actually that bad😂

All of this just feels like it's pushing me to go through with this crazy idea I've had to start an indie development team for a "Stock-Car Racing Sandbox Experience" so we can do it ourselves! blend a grounded, real, and fun racing experience with all the bells and whistles the "Thunder era" games had along with features we should have today! Paint booth, different eras of racing, togglable assists and rulesets... I'm writing a big document on all the features and hope to make a video on it soon.
Nascar ignition is a horrible game!! So many glitches it's hard to even finish races without a 40 car pileup. Such a p.o.s. and it's the 1st game I won't be buying since Playstation has come out.
It’s very ironic that EA Sports is what 2k is in the football world because we all hate madden and wish 2k would make football games wish we could donate EA sports to nascar because they were actually good at that

I was lucky to have skipped this game all together and to this day is the only Nascar game on my Complete collection I've never touched. Because the 2012 game was so good
I honestly find nascar games to be to over hyped and over serious like just cause it’s glitching with nascar 21 and nascar 11 and evolution you can still have a blast playing any game
NASCAR Thunder 2004 was such a great game. I remember playing it on the OG Xbox when I was younger and the game is wayy better than NASCAR Heat 5 (it doesn’t stand out or have any exciting modes/features). Surprisingly the game was made by EA of all companies.

Definitely not the worst, the worst of the Eutechnyx series sure, but i had a shit ton of fun on that game. Inside Line was the best of them though

I've had this game since its release and it's pretty decent. The paint booth is really good and I've made several paint schemes ranging from throwbacks to iconic cars or custom ones just for myself. The only downside is that Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers keep trying to wreck me every race.

I distinctly remember doing a short race at Talladega when I played it on the Wii back in 2013-14ish. The AI was so bad that I lapped the whole field twice within 9 laps of the 20 lap race.
I remember getting spun out and landed on pit road, but I get penalized for illegal entry to the pits. Cost me the race because of the dumb A.I.

Nascar 2011 was a good game made by people who didn't know enough about the sport and the hardware they built it on to capitalize. Everything that was needed for a good stock car game was there, it just didn't work 100%. Thats a honest error and I don't hold that against the devs
Nascar Heat Evo was made by people who loved the sport, but on a extreme budget and time crunch. Don't blame them for that one either. Especially considering how decent heat 4 and 5 where.
Nascar 21 is made by people that should know better, with nearly infinite money,, on last gen hardware, in a engine that is famously easy to work with, and yet it doesn't have basic fundamental shit of stock car racing. Yellow flags change driving physics and AI performance, crash damage looks like a after thought, pit stops don't work and take forever, stages aren't implemented at all. All things fundamental to the experience of stock car racing, and there's no excuse for that.
This game, should it release is DOA, as it the next few MSG titles and honestly, as a now ex-investor in motorsport game's, I hope they go under from this so Indycar, Lemans, Nascar and BTCC can find someone that actually gives enough of a fuck about the sport to at least get the fundamentals right.

Motorsports Games loves motorsports, and they listened to the fans and what the fans wanted. And they gave us what the fans wanted, they spent the limited time they had on fan requested features instead of actually building a working foundation... Right after Heat 4 had perfected that foundation And started building up from there. Heat 5 could've been Thunder 2002 levels of good but instead they caved in to all the bitching 12 year-olds and talking heads who know little to nothing about how these work. Like the limitless money factory that is EA literally took 7 years before their best NASCAR game was released.

So What exactly are those features? Because you have No Public Lobbies, no feeder series, a absolutely barebones career mode, the AI physics get fucked up by yellow flags and the AI completely change as if the package is different...
I could go on, but the point of the matter is they NEED to delay this game. They won't, because NASCAR won't let them, but this game is so fundamentally broken, the nice new graphics, driving physics, and theatric style don't mean shit.
This was the first game I ever received and played so it holds a lot of value to me. Although it wasn’t the game anyone was hyped for it to be I still played it for countless hours and honestly still play it to this day. I definitely prefer this game and NASCAR 15 over ANY heat game
There are things that you missed about NASCAR 2011 that you might not have seen when you played the game. I remember playing NASCAR 2011 and I remember how broken the game was.
Whenever AI would crash the caution would come out. But whenever you get involved in a crash or spin out the caution sometimes wouldn’t come out.
Everytime I reached level Ace the game would reset my progress and start over again for no reason.
There was also the option to pause the game and take photos. But everytime I would try to access my photo album from the main menu the game would always freeze.
I had this game on Wii and honestly, speaking it was the first "modern" nascar game I ever got, that trailer was fantastic and when I got in game, sorry it was nearly impossible to wreck, or even just getting the car sideways, and it just looked like a sad port. With Digi graphics horrible crash physics, you never got anything more than a dent and covered in rubber marks on the front and tire rubs, the caution camera would show everything leading up to the wreck out cut off the wreck itself. The trailer is honestly the only thing good and this game.
I remembered being hyped with it back in 2011 but ended up with NR2003 on a potato laptop and stuck with the keyboard.
It was a bit of a dissapointment cause career node is bland and I can't be competitive with the keyboard but NOW I realize that it was all a blessing in disguise. To this day I still play NR2003 as a go to NASCAR game.

Honestly if ETX fixed the netcode for NASCAR: Inside Line and beyond, the online would've been excellent since the physics were great for a console game (minus the safer barrier physics), good multi groove, fall off, etc. But they neglected to fix the netcode and sadly the game just never got a following for leagues and whatnot because of that which would've helped to keep it alive. It's safe to say we're all tired of entirely screwed up NASCAR games at this point.
I honestly really like NTG2011. The damage model takes some getting used to, but is still better compared to the complete nothingness of its successors. The fact that the AI was a little weak was to my advantage because I was never particularly good with controllers. And yes, the loading times were incredibly annoying, but I can't say much more negative about the game. The driving physics felt incredibly good, draft racing was quite funny and the game was otherwise really fun to play. So I like the game and still play it now and then. Of course I would never compare it to NR2003, but I don't think it deserves the hate.
Evolution is the worst, but Eutechnyx was a total abomination because of the horrendous AI.
They also started the trend of Nadcar game development that completely ignored statistics. That trend didn't end until midway through the Heat series, with 7 years of consecutive Nascar games with no statistical compilation.
They made Jimmie Johnson look like a god in this game

I see people saying that nascar games haven’t that good scenes ea sports and how people don’t like them games at all because there not ea and I’m like do want rockstar to make a nascar game because if they I’m sure you’ll still complain about it I’m just saying.
I remember playing this with my cousin a few years back and I had so much fun playing it. I honestly wasn't even aware of any issues. Looking back, the only issue I had was even though I was a lap ahead of most of the field, i was put a lap behind everyone after one pit stop.
NASCAR the Game: 2011 was (and is) one of the best NASCAR games I’ve played. I’m not sure why so many people overlook it because when you play it, you won’t regret it.
