I took all of the inner grease seals out, from the front/rear axles, and the transmission. I added 3mm set screws for adding WD-40. So far so good. I never worry about bearing grease now days. I am also running the Hobbywing quickrun fusion 2-in-1 2300kv system geared 22-39. And this little system turns the 5.80"×4.00" Tires most impressively.
Man I’ve been eyeing those axles for a month now. I’ve never messed with the internals of the axles yet either and looks pretty involved but as long as you stay organized and know what goes where, definitely doable. Great info!!! Thank you
Sweet axles my friend.. I am new to crawling, been in r/c on off for 20+ years. Tech and parts support is so much better now. These trx4 platforms are too much fun. Custom parts amd ideas everywhere!😅 I went with the plastic axle tubes with brass outer portal, diff covers, C-hubs, lower shock mounts, weighted Hi Clearance steering and aluminium 2.2 beadlocks w/mud slingers. Oh and full skid set.
Those are Purdy Axel's would almost hate to get'em dirty but should keep the High Trail planted on the Crawl ✌🤠👍 HFLPRCing =Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing 👍😎👍 AOAH =Association of Addicted Hobbiest 🙏 SSPH =Stay Safe and Play Healthy My Friend
Those look amazing brother! I plan on just getting more brass parts as i go. Treal brass hub carriers and diff covers, and some brass portal covers will be pricey but should add some serious weight. Those look awesome though! Your k10 inspired mine lol!
I might still add some brass wheelweights. But I'm not sure how much is too much. With these tires I weighed it today and it's almost 13 pounds. My other trucks are between 6 and 8 pounds. Lol
I run it today. I'm uploading a video now. Luckily I had no issues with the skid guards rubbing anything and holding me up and they protected my new axles pretty good
It took me 6 months of crawling in my rock garden of natural rocks with my TRX4 Sport to wear holes in the bottom of its axle pumpkins. That was 4 years ago. Since then I have installed skid plates on it and every other crawler I have subsequently purchased. I wondered if the available aluminum axle choices accommodate the stainless steel skids because rocks grind aluminum away nearly as quick as plastic. I have also fitted DIY chassis skid plates formed/cut from the bottoms of 1-gallon 'Arizona' Ice-tea jugs on my TRX4 Sport, High Trail, and Axial 1/10 Capra. Unless you are looking you can barely see them, but they slide easily over rocks while completely protecting the motor plate, suspension link Heim joints, and the TRX4's frame rails. FYI: Approximately 2mm of ground clearance is lost with this mod.
I think they only have this color and black and red ones. But I have seen other companies that sell just pieces for their axles individual that are different colors. I don't know if they have every that you need to build the axles.
I have not had any issues they are just like news still. A couple of screws loosen up every now and again. Because I didn't lock tight them but no problems.
16:50 using grease in portal housing. would it be a good idea to use marine grease. I news thinking of jamming mine 1/3 full of it. just about to unbox 1/10 high trail
I see you got some nuts and bolts for weight. I found some heavy diesel battery posts. They are allot smaller and probably weigh more. I glued them together and used black electric tape an mounted on front bumper mount. It’s centred weight and is much lower than the top
Surprised RUclips hasn't attacked you for having Good Dr on in background had a few videos taken down before can't have any sound on in the back any more might just be a UK thing maybe?
I ordered what I thought was the correct skid plates, all fit perfect, except for the center plate. It’s too short. Guess it’s for a regular TRX4. I put it on my sons. Do you have a part number from Amazon for the kit you have?
1:16 Mate, scratches on aluminum parts look damn good !!
It looks even more real

Is there actually very easy to put together. I've had no issues out of them so far.
Thx for the great vid. Love the upgrades. Can’t wait to see it run
Bro that little set up is sick!
Far out!! Look at all the work and details in this diorama. Its amazing 👌👍 love your work.
Thank you very much!
Great upgrades. I was first a little bot unsure about the shiny axles. But they look good on the truck, too.
Looks nice brother! Cant wait for the running video, I wish I could have been there!
great job thoroughly enjoyed
Man those look so good!!
Looking really good! I think, now it is time for some golden stripes or pattern on the body too.😎
Startin to look beastly bro! Cheers yall
It's a beast!! Looking good!!
Beautiful rig. Love the upgrades.
Thank you.
Nice work, looks good!
Great upgrade. , Yeah how come you're using that Ford grease buddy You need some GM or some Chevrolet grease💖
AWESOMENESS with those Axles!!!

Thank you I appreciate. I now have a bunch of brass on the metal axles two
You should do a complete update on the high trail. Like all your updates
I can do that one day. I've been really sick so I haven't been able to make a few videos lately. Hopefully soon I'll be back on my feet.
@@ezboyrc553 I hope you get feeling better. I appreciate you

Looks realy nice man😋👌
Hell yeah that truck is wicked cool 👍🏻 DO NOT let it be a shelf Queen, that truck is meant to be on the trail.
You're right. I can't park it. I run it almost every day. I just put the hobbywing fusion SE in it last night. & WOW.
That truck looks great !!!!!
those extenders...you can get longer stub axles to compensate for those.
Awesome!
I like the wheels where can I get a set?
Good video
the skid guard i didnt use, i got the same guard kit,, the rest are great...hold up good but do get hung up sometimes.

i seen them on your face book MV they look nice wetal axles are more lower weight best place for it
Looks great man, but you shouldn’t have used that Ford grease, now they’ll leak! 🤣
I'm so jealous!
I Want the running vid!😅 was debating on getting some
Sorry that I made you all wait on the running video. Tomorrow I'm going to an open crawl and will get some good footage on a Homemade crawler course
Nice axles! I got the copper high trail. I wonder if they have color matching axles? Like a copper color to match the body
I think they only have this color and black and red ones. But I have seen other companies that sell just pieces for their axles individual that are different colors. I don't know if they have every that you need to build the axles.
high trail look good 👍
Thanks buddy.
Love your videos Brotha! What bumper is that
Not sure
Hey, so its been a year now since the vid was uploaded. Just curious as to how those axles are holding up? Thanks
I have not had any issues they are just like news still. A couple of screws loosen up every now and again. Because I didn't lock tight them but no problems.
where did you get the jack stands? They look really cool
My friend at metal gear RC printed them for me.
😁😁👍👍

high trail
Marine grease is fine. You really don't need much in there. Some people put too much. Just coat the gears ⚙️ a little bit, and that's all it takes.
@@ezboyrc553 is 3s safe to run or risky in any areas in regards to durability? also doe 3s hinder crawling ability or make slow speeds finicky

Isn't this grease a bit too thick? I'm about to change it in my RC axles and wondering which one I should choose.
I've never had any problems with it.
Did you have any issues getting the shocks back on?
No problems with it.
How many millimeters are the front and rear driveshafts?
I'm not sure on that.
Surprised RUclips hasn't attacked you for having Good Dr on in background had a few videos taken down before can't have any sound on in the back any more might just be a UK thing maybe?
They would if it was music. but they don't give me no s*** over a TV program in the background luckily. It's not very noticeable I guess.
What brand nd size shocks did you use?
I now have 120 mm desert lizard shocks.
Do these work with the selectable lockers?
Yes
Which skid plates are those? I need a set for my trx4 high trail.
I got them on Amazon. Only cost around $16

@@harleyguy932 That is the same kit I have I just put the short plate on the bottom anyway.
You just need to bend the end tab flat. The hightrail has an extended skidplate due to the longer wheelbase.
@@jonesyba420 yes that’s what I ended up doing. And used a better quality screw. Worked great
What brand is the axle? Thank you
I don't know. Just Amazon
What shocks are those?
120 mm desert lizard shocks.
These are crap the metal is softer than plastic! Vitavon axles is the way to go
Well, I have abused these axles for well over a year now. And not had any issues they are way better than people seem to think.
Man I'm with you on this topic. That jerk @hfuffvnjynijd8989 is a jerk off 🤣🤣🤣@@ezboyrc553
