    FOLKS if you're thinking about these for your E36, I found them on Amazon for $5 less than I paid lol. I made an affiliate link in case you want to support the channel at no extra cost :)
    LINK TO EXACT COILOVERS IN THIS VID: amzn.to/3L7C353

    I love your channel for the surron and razor videos (I have a 14kw Razor). I also have a 335i daily and I just need some cheap coils so I googled solowerk S1 coils and boom this popped up. Love to see a wide range of content! So thank you for the helpful review. Also I live in Bellevue so hi neighbor.

      woah! small world, that’s sick. 14kw in a razor sounds so gnarly, i might have to copy you and build one too haha

    thanks! your review was super helpful. I'm skeptical of something that is less than $1,000 but this might be the sweet spot for me. I do prefer the comfortable ride since I only drive on the streets and San Diego roads are also bad. I plan to install them on my 2009 128i.

    • @logan-taylor
      @logan-taylor  2 года назад

      I had the EXACT same concern, $1000 can get you into some pretty solid stuff but anything less is a shot in the dark. In this price range though I don't think these can be beat, especially for street driving. I've heard good things about them on 135i's so I'm sure the same goes for your car :)

    Thanks for the review, currently have a Audi TT and looks like whoever installed shocks cheaped out on the springs so it's sitting pretty high and it feels crappy. Solo Werks honestly makes sense to me because it's honestly at a good price range for shocks and springs in general.

    Have you seen the "upgraded" maxspeedrods that run 300-550? or the pink godspeed coilovers? Trying to make my decision between these 3 and having a hard time narrowing it down. 50/50 street/drift. Ecs brand is also an option right at 800

    • @logan-taylor
      @logan-taylor  2 года назад

      That’s a great q - i’m not familiar with the upgraded ones, that sounds interesting. They’re known for being pretty stiff in general, so could be a good bet for steet/drift double duty - just beware of the mounting points being a bit weak (but could be fixed on the “upgraded” version). I think solowerks are just a tad too soft for most types of track duty unfortunately, they’re just excellent on the street.
      I haven’t experienced ECS or godspeed, and at this price point it’s anyone’s guess. If i were you, I’d go for the brand with the best customer service and return policy lmao - all those options will probably meet your goals, just might be short-lived compared to higher end stuff

    thanks for the vid, I am installing these on my b8 a4 hopefully everything goes good, other a4 owners have been rocking these coilovers for 3 years! and yea I had the same packaging issue it was unexpectable for me the struts really tore trough the packing when I got mine😡

    • @logan-taylor
      @logan-taylor  2 года назад +1

      sick!! Good luck with the install, I love B8s. solowerks seems to know what they’re doing with vw/audi, especially compared to other “cheap” coil overs, so i think you made a great choice :)

    Got these for my Mk7 1.8t and it’s been about 6months or more… fixed the sway bar end links and top stru mounts these still clunk. I want to say they are bad but when they arrived they looked beefy. I emailed solowerks see what they finna do.

    • @logan-taylor
      @logan-taylor  2 года назад

      weird... no clunking with mine, my first thought on a VW would be end links so I'm not sure -- have a buddy with a MK6 and clunking issues as well (but he's not on solowerks). Hoping they get it sorted out for you! They seem like a cool team so I bet they'll be happy to help.

      @@logan-taylor funny thing is I stay in WA to. I never go up to Seattle tho. I live up in Auburn. Solowerks is sending me two front springs for the struts. Sent them sand they saw some stuff. Did you install these yourself?

    • @logan-taylor
      @logan-taylor  2 года назад

      @@domingoguzman9292 yep installed myself! Installed before I made youtube videos - once the struts are off swapping the springs should be super easy, just be careful about the helper spring popping the top hat off when you unbolt it

      @@logan-taylor hate to be a bother but can you help me install the springs? don’t have a spot to do them at. I paid $700 at this spot called Too Quicks in Tacoma to install the entire thing.

    • @logan-taylor
      @logan-taylor  2 года назад

      honestly $700 ain’t too bad for that amount of labor - i would love to help but i just don’t have the bandwidth with the other projects going on! Also i’m not a certified mechanic so the liability would be an issue :/ There is a spot in tacoma where you can rent a lift and tools by the hour, you could save sooo much money that way.

    how in gods name do you adjust them

    • @logan-taylor
      @logan-taylor  2 года назад

      For height adjustment, just rotate the collars like any other coil over! Spin them down the threaded strut housing = car goes lower, thread them up = car goes higher. same in the back, but the threaded part sits on top of the spring and is separate from the shock. Does that help?
      (p.s. If yours are old, they may be seized from corrosion or dirt so that might be limiting adjustment)

    • @logan-taylor
      @logan-taylor  Год назад +1

      still running great - no complaints or clunks, valving is still great for street driving. I drive Dory every day to work and through some rough Seattle roads and they’re still killer. If you want to go low-low though, the spring rate is a little soft. I’ve smacked my x brace a couple times coming down off a small speed bumps too quick, but wouldn’t want anything stuffer for the type of driving I do.
