  • LGD WAP4 with Yesvantpur Tatanagar Express enters Lotegolahalli at good speed, then slow down for gate signal. In the mean time the train gets a proceed and P4 accelerates and as it near me 2 huge sparks come out. The train is stopped immediately. Loco pilots try their best to get the loco back to work but with huge sparks coming they bring down the panto. After some inspection, they find out that a little branch from a tree was the cause and ALP bravely takes it out. The train finally proceeds with the Front Panto.

      +SanthosBaala RS Incredibly risky and downright stupid to be waving a stick around that close to 25KV. Just not worth it. Any worker going near the roof underneath energised knitting in the UK (or anywhere in Europe) would face instant dismissal for gross misconduct. The loco would be dragged dead to a safe maintenance location.
      As a passenger I wouldn't want to trade my delay on the train for a railway worker's life.

    I am thinking did the train completed the remaining journey with the front panto in line.Usually it's always the back panto is in use in the direction of motion

    Hapless incident, but nice coverage .

  • @heiden2413
    @heiden2413 7 лет назад +5

    I think sparks occur quite frequently because the overhead wires arent very straight which creates the pantograph to lose contact while moving

    • @heiden2413
      @heiden2413 7 лет назад +1

      And those sparks can cause a lot of computer/internal damages

    • @heiden2413

  • @soundseeker63
    @soundseeker63 7 лет назад +4

    Don't they have any tools for incidents like this? Here we have a fiberglass grabber arm tool so objects like branches, birds, loose dropper wire etc. can be removed quickly and safely under live wires.

  • @Samarth916
    @Samarth916 8 лет назад +7

    So, they don't use the front pantograph normally for friction reasons, right? I've always seen them using the rear one...
    And its a good capture, specially that removal of trees, etc... :D

    • @Samarth916
      @Samarth916 8 лет назад +18

      +prabhakar kevat High tension current (25000 volts) can grab you even if you're not into wire's contact, but just close to it.
      Many people fail to understand this, and think "We're not touching the wire", and that's how they become victims to this kind of electricity.
      For the same reason, a common man can't steal electricity from a high tension line... Even if you hold a rubber insulated wire, you'll get flamed...

      Sreerag BK dude notice dat the height of the double decker coaches are almost same as of the normal icf coaches...just 3 or 4 inches more...cuz d lower deck is elevated around the base of the platform...

    This Is Not For The Name Of Front Panto Or Back Panto These Pantos Classified Ac And Dc Current. Front Panto For Dc Current And Back Panto For Ac Current And Current Controlled By Traction Transformer Tap Changer For Traction Motors But These Stuff Only For Ac/Dc Locomotives. For Sperate Ac Locomotives And Dc Locomotives Then The Pantos Are Classified For The Speed Like 1 Panto For Normal Speed And Both Pantos For High Speed. And The Voltage For Both Ac And Dc Is 1 Phase 25000v 25kv Only For Ac And For Dc Is 15000v 1.5Kv

      Lakshay Narayan In India have only 25 kV electrification. But locos with two high voltage stades.
