    2 Peter 1:5ab (NKJV)
    Introduction:
Welcome back to our series on Growing in Godliness! Last week, we delved into the importance of faith as a cornerstone of a godly life. Today, we explore the next key ingredient: virtue. Often associated with the Proverbs 31 woman, virtue is a deep and crucial aspect of godliness, translating to goodness and moral excellence.
    Key Scriptures:
Philippians 4:8 (NASB 1995): Focus on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable.
Matthew 5:16 (AMP): Let your light shine through good deeds and moral excellence.
James 2:14-17 (NASB 1995): Faith without works is dead.
Colossians 3:12-14 (NASB 1995): Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and love.
    Main Points:
Virtue in Godliness: Understanding virtue as goodness and moral excellence.
Character Matters: Upholding Christian character in all circumstances.
Faith and Morals: Faith combined with good morals expands God's kingdom.
Biblical Virtues: Embracing virtues like compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and love.
    Conclusion:
In a world influenced by Machiavellian attitudes, it’s vital to uphold biblically-based standards of behavior. As followers of Christ, we are called to embody virtues that reflect the heart of the Father.
    Prayer/Altar Call:
Join us in prayer for growth in moral excellence, so others can witness the heart of the Father through our lives.
