It's a mad throwback seeing Aaron doing tutorials again. Reminds me of being 13 trying to learn to skate. 9 years later, I'm starting to pick it back up. And now I get to watch all the old ones AND new ones?! Life really goes full circle sometimes ❤ Big love to all the homies at braille. And all of my fellow soldiers of the braille army.
I don't know how to say what I want to say in a short comment, so let me just say this. Aaron (and all of braille for that matter), if you can get me genuinely thinking about trying to skate again (after failing when i was a really little kid), then you can get anyone with legs to skate. You guys really are doing what you set out to do, and are doing great. My problem when I was a kid was that I couldn't balance on the board no matter what, after a push or on flat. Then I got into riding scooters (and now nothing). Keep it up, the passion from every single one of you shines in these videos.
amazing !! a very important and missed trick tip in the community , personally back sides are way easier for me . and i just wanna add that after the rotation of the shoulders whats actually causing the board to slide is the extension of the body notice how you and mo both go very low riding before you slide and then extending youre body almost fully witch applies more pressure on the heel side heel side wheels on a frontside slide .
This is not for me... yet. I started skating like a week ago and I've been binging your videos. Landed my first (terrible) ollie today, and I'm getting more and more comfortable riding every day... My skateboard is old and used and it doesn't have grip, and I don't have any money to buy something new lol. You think not having grip will affect my learning too much? Love your videos, man! Thank you for helping me (and all of us) on this journey! Much love from Uruguay. edit: I noticed I wasn't subscribed... woops. Fixed now though.
Probably one of my favorite thing to do on a skateboard! Feeling free, ollie-ing stuff, doing powerslides. But hey, let's get real for a second, backside powerslides have a uncomparable feeling. Backside powerslides all the way.
After dropping curbs this was the first thing i learnt. Found it easier to do going up hill. Powerslide, shove it, kickturn then underflip is an awesome looking combo.
I wanted to do an ollie so I watched one of your videos, And I saw how fun it was to skateboard. So you guys got me into skateboarding. Thank you so much! Aaron, and everyone else on the team, you have been like a skateboarding teacher for me!
Not only does the pads instill security and safety in a fall. They also instill some real confidence when you realize just how much pain they spare you from.
I'm glad you uploaded this video. I feel that powerslide is a very difficult trick but most of the people say it is simple. And it's really hard to see someone who does it properly in my point of view.
I learned snowboarding first, powersliding is a very basic thing to a snowboarder as it's how you stop and slow down. It's literally the first thing you have to learn.
Great video. Lots of love for the Braille crew. Been trying this recently. Not got it down yet. Won’t give up. Question, is it easier to slide on hard wheels or soft wheels??
Well for me planning to do more urban riding it seems the most important skill on the streets to get this super quick stop.. like on skies or on blades.. stopping hard is very important while dealing with idiots who seem to be blind
I like this video !! I’ve gotten back into skateboarding after 42 years so a lot of has changed.. I would like to know how wide is your board…what are you comfortable riding and also, what size are your wheels and what hardness rating are they?
8.25 is average and got imo the nicest flips, however if you size 10 and above you may like 8.38 or even 8.5 better. Wheel hardness is mostly important for what grounds you skate on, if you skate in inside skateparks 101 hardness can make you feel like flying but for outside somewhat rougher grounds i recommend 99a and below. reverts/powerslides are easier with harder wheels, hardness is also key to less flatspots i believe. Have fun sk8ing!
Great skateboarding and advanced technique to leaning towards the skateboard of sliding down the momentum and changing direction to executing tricks and more energy?!
backside powerslide is easier for me. I have a hard time breaking my back wheels loose on a frontside powerslide. and usually flatspot my wheels first try! I did just ride dragon formula wheels today for the first time definitely easier to break loose.
Higher quality wheels will help prevent flat spots. I've been using Bones V4s and haven't gotten them to flatspot, vs the cheaper mini logos that I had before which developed flat spots soon after I got them.
Lil late on this, but I'm having trouble getting the front wheels to slide. I can get to 90°, but I stop cuz my front wheels never started to slide. Not sure if my weight is wrong or I'm just not going fast enough. Even got the new dragons to help with leaning. Any tips?
You need more force on your back foot and likely need to go faster so you dont slide. Its hard to tell without a video. If you are a member of Braille Army + send me your video on the members only discord and I will check it out
This is one of the tricks I want. Looks like you hang your heels front side. I'm surprised you don't put your toes out there for backside. You put them on the edge to feel. Balance.
How should I learn to ride lefty? It seems clear that riding lefty and righty is imperative for most tricks. How do I learn how? (Other than simply doing it, extra tips)
Hello Braille Skateboarding. I really your videos and I follow you since a long time. Can you make a video about how to revert? This can be pretty cool to learn for the beginners. Thank you a lot for your work :)
hi Aron im having a problem here, when i made the power slide 2 things happen... or i finish in fakie or the skate stays in the position and my body flies away, i cant make the skate line up again. thanks.
It’s blowing my mind having the weight on the back foot not the front. I’ve always done speed check slides with weight on my front foot, will be interesting try it this way
POV you’re not paying attention in class and the teacher calls on you to answer a question “My name is Aaron Kyro, and I’m a sponsored skateboarder from the San Francisco Bay Area”
Harder wheels are better (99a-101a), and go with better quality ones (like Bones, Spitfires, OJs, etc.) or else you're more likely to get flatspots. Spitfire Formula 4s (99d) have been proven to never flatspot by skating, so they're always a safe bet! 👌
I have a question, when pivoting with the back foot you push also your knee inwards right? And the back foot the pressure is done with the front part of the foot or the back part of it? I'm trying to do it but it seems I'm not using enough strength in the back foot and the skate either elevates of the floor or I go full to the front (─.─||)

I’m with you brother. Just picked skating back up at 43, after a 25 year hiatus. These videos are life savers

Going to keep learning with my daughter. I should have never stopped, but life happens. Gotta keep rolling on.

Question, is it easier to slide on hard wheels or soft wheels??
Harder means less grip and less wear, so definitely better for slides
@@serny14 thanks 🙏
Hard wheels slide easier. Soft grip and make it very hard

get wheels harder than whatever youre skating on

Can you do a review of the Powell peralta dragon formula wheels?
We filmed one it will be up soon
In powerslide ,trucks should be loose or tighten, like hill bombing with powerslide ?
A beginners question. It does only work on really smooth tar streets or concrete, right?
No it works on rough ground also. The wheels make a big difference
@@brailleskateboarding I see :) thank you.
