He's pretty good and would definitely recommend checking him out. He also has one wholesome character to balance out all the slappable jerks
5:25 How have you not heard/seen TheSlappableJerk!? He does loads of satire sketches like this. If you’re interested in topics such as weaponised incompetence, you should go check him out, as he’s made many videos that discredit similar characteristics.
I was gonna say its kinda weird Daniel Profeta didnt know it was staged, but it seems an unrelated tiktok account ripped it off so its understandable that they couldnt find the guy's other videos
@@danielprofeta I remember a video where you said you’re a 20 year old boy and your girlfriend got you pregnant with twins and some people didn’t get the joke . 🙄
It's not directly related to weaponised incompetence but that term always reminds me of an anecdote from my parents. They're pretty traditional so mum was responsible for "maintaining the home". However, one day my mum got completely fed up with my dad complaining about how she wasn't cleaning the toilets right so she had a complete protest, refusing to clean the toilets ever again. So my dad has always been 100% responsible for the toilets all my life leading to many entertaining quirks. Like my birthday was just over a week ago and my dad got me the most amazing birthday present I've ever received in my life, toilet cleaning tablets😂
My brother works with raw chicken all day at his job. At our home kitchen? "I can't grab anything, my gloves are dirtyyyyyyyyy" He didn't learn to drive till age 40 and he drives my mom's car because he wrecked both of his (one on a deer and one by neglect/punching the windshield in rage). He pisses on the floor and leaves messes on the stove and says "well I didn't mean to" He inserts himself into conversations that my mom and I are having about our lifelong chronic disabilities and pain and poverty, talking about his extra ankle bone that he gets regular nerve blocks for and how he never has enough money after buying Starbucks 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Here is a perfect example. I worked in a juvenile detention center. There was a big analog clock. About 10 times a day this one kid would ask me what time it is. I would tell him there’s a big clock on the wall. Yet, he said he didn’t know how to read it. That is perfectly understandable, nobody knows how to do anything until they’re taught. So I said to him, come sit down over here and I’ll teach you how to read an analog clock. He responded, nah, it’s easier for me to just ask someone. Keep in mind, he’s in a detention center. It’s not like he had anything else to do. Some people genuinely see nothing wrong with expecting other people to do things for them, just because they are too lazy to learn how to do things themselves.
Its ok to not know how to do something, its never too late to start learning Weaponized incompetence is when someone could do or learn to do something, but has someone else in their sphere act like a servant instead Wanting or needing help is ok too, but refusal to do anything within your power at all is awful
What you do to combat Weaponized Incompetence? Tell them they did an awesome job...and proceed to do something so frighteningly stupid and structurally destructive you will be FORBIDDEN to do anything around the house ever again.
@nansw That's the point! Not working so much HARDER than the other guy they NEVER ask you to lift a finger again, lest your gross incompetence lead to disaster.
Problem is they never have to ask us to do anything cuz they don't care. I try to find other ways but they aren't very common, could use some ideas actually lol. I can bait a hook and pull a fish off, but I ask him to do it anyway. I also try to do the easier, preferable jobs like stacking wood and dishes before he can get to them, so he gets stuck with laundry and mopping once in a while. If I'm really mad at him, I'll do all of his tasks (mowing, garbage, feed dogs, fixing things...etc.) so that he feels guilty for at least a week and helps more with the rest. It may sound counterintuitive, but it worked with my man. Just start vacuuming under his feet, or doing the dishes before you sit down and eat dinner, or do all the manual labor or yard work, or just fix things around the house yourself. The more in his face it is, the more guilty he'll feel and start helping. Men don't like being emasculated, so if you can show him that you're stronger than him, he'll try harder.
you can't convince me these kinds of guys aren't mostly the same ones who say a traditional woman's work isn't difficult. when there is pressure to do housework or childcare they will act like it's too hard for them. only to switch it around when talking about sexism and confronted about the unfairness housewives tend to face nowadays with most having to make income as well, they'll then try to undermine the value of that same work. going from "idk how to work the machine there's way too many buttons" to "what work? just pushing buttons on a machine isn't that hard" it's all about which stance is most convenient. they may try to disguise the incompetence as praise for their partner by adding on "you know better than I do, you're my better half, you're the best.." etc but if you find yourself doing most of the work, and you've already complained many times but nothing was done about it, think about why that is. people who offload their way outta obligations unprompted straight up do not value the efforts of others as much as their own. when they have to do work it's soooo hard but not when someone else does the same amount. guy pretending to not know how to rinse potatoes is bringing honorless weasel energy into the household for gits n shiggles but it ain't cute, it's shameful. I hope for peace to his partner and others in similar situations (including guys and nonbinaries, anyone can be taken advantage of like this but the behavior seems prominent towards wives)
Then there are those like me who feel good that they don't know people like this. It's hard to imagine someone staying in a relationship with someone like this or being employed with someone who won't be fired doing this.

If he screws something up, I teach him how to do it right, and I will do this over and over and over again until he learns how to do it right. He’s gone from asking me to do things every time to being able to mostly do it himself. With stuff like laundry, he will still check with me if he thinks that something may need to be washed differently, but otherwise he’s mostly competent enough to do things well. Proof against it being attempted weaponized incompetence is I have a surgery in a few months that will put me out of commission for 2-3 months, and he’s really been stepping up to learn how things need to be done so I can rest and he can make things as easy as possible for me
I think the worst form of weaponized incompetence is between parent and child. Cause with relationships, if they keep playing games you can leave if need be. With children and parents though it's not that simple. It can either be the classic Parent is sitting on the couch, child is somewhere else entirely in the house, and the parent demands the child get up and get them the remote even though the parent is right there. Or it can be child takes advantage of their parents enabling nature to never be asked to do something or held be accountable for their actions. To me both are annoying on many levels. When it's the child doing it, not only does it show a lack of willingness to mature even a lil bit, but it also shows they're narcissistic and they only care about themselves. They parents in these scenarios are either doesn't care enough to correct to their child's malicious intent or enables them to no end because their blinded by their "love" for the child. When the parent does it, it is usually an abuse of the power and influence you have over your kids. It's not that you shouldn't teach them certain things or train them up with discipline and responsibility. It when you use your child's need to want you to like them or to make you proud to your advantage. Then asking them to do shit you don't want to do cause your lazy, manipulative, or both. I hear it all the time in these dynamics, "If you don't like it, you can always leave." Knowing damn well that's not an easy thing to do regardless of what people want to happen most of the time.
5:42 This is staged, I can't remember his name rn, but he does a lot of similar skits and even has particular characters. He was raised by his grandparents, and I think it influences much of his stuff.

Awwww you put a comedy account into your thumbnail. 😅❤️ Just looking at his videos and their titles will clue you in. But granted, he does it so stiff-lipped that I cannot watch most of his videos, because they just enrage me. I don't find it funny.
Thank you for teaching me how to wash my copy of the 48 laws of power. So I think "weaponised incompetence" is real, I've seen crazier abuse tactics. What I see a lot more is abusers accusing their victims of it. The weaponised incompetence boy wants someone else to do the dishes and doesn't care what verbal abuse he receives in the process. The kind of girl who *claims* to have a problem with a weaponised incompetence boy, she wants to claim credit for doing the dishes and doing the chore has a perk for her that no one else gets. Sometimes a person gets accused of weaponised incompetence and they are simply incompetent. They tried to learn, people refused to believe they were bad at it, people refused to believe they were trying. So they offer to do some other task to make up for it, and they get told no. No counter-offer, just being told to magically be able to do it. Sometimes a person gets accused of weaponised incompetence and no sane observer would think they weren't competent, it's just that the abuser berates them for every little thing. If you're very, very, lucky, you can furtively wash the dishes behind the abuser's back and they'll accept the clean dishes. Either way, you WISH someone would "teach you a lesson" by just not doing the chore. Maybe you actually think it's worth someone doing, but you still just want the abuse to stop. The only positive is that I repel the kind of guy who does actual weaponised incompetence. On the other hand, I have *still* been the victim of incompetence-weaponisers, because a woman in our lives directed his abuse at *me* and then continued to make me out to be the lazy one, unlike her obedient loving son. At this point it's impossible to make him sit in his own mess, because she'll clean it up and then make it your fault.
Funny video Daniel but why just focus on men? Women are just as guilty of doing this as men, especially to other women at work. I liked your video but as a woman I found it to be rather one sided. Maybe as a man you didn't want to bash women, commendable, but this struck me as a bit unfair. Household chores aside, I've found that men are far more likely to offer assistence than women. Just my personal experience. ✌

edit: this is totally my brother, i've started just not doing stuff for him and he gets real mad and calls me selfish but it's the only way he'll ever get over his laziness and have a chance of becoming a functioning member of society lol
You kind of look like Varg
Oh my😂
Commenting at the start of the video
What the fuck

Ok so second guy does skits about weaponized incompetence and man child boyfriends so yes, it’s staged
Hi
Are you going to disappear from this channel like you did your music channel after making some money?
The pov man child one is a satirical video made by slapablejerk and he makes a lot of vids like those
Funny video Daniel but why just focus on men? Women are just as guilty of doing this as men, especially to other women at work. I liked your video but as a woman I found it to be rather one sided. Maybe as a man you didn't want to bash women, commendable, but this struck me as a bit unfair. Household chores aside, I've found that men are far more likely to offer assistence than women. Just my personal experience. ✌
I agree. I know of several women who use this form of manipulation quite well.
5:15 THIS GUYS A COMEDIAN BTW!!!! THIS VIDEO WASN'T SERIOUS LOLOLOLOL he makes videos about ppl like this all the time! Pls do better research lol
