I’m a vet who drives a truck for a living. Jocko, your podcasts keep me sane during 12 hour days. Thank you for the wisdom you share, the advice you give and the stories your guests tell.
Being a SEAL is one thing. Being a SEAL and earning the nickname “The Hulk” is another, and being a SEAL, who earned the nickname “The Hulk” AND becoming an admiral in charge of the SEALS is a level even the most badass of men can’t dream of attaining.
Audie Murphy was wounded before they could send him to The Academy at WestPoint. Not a hulk, though. The Marines wouldn’t take him and his commandingly officer was trying to get him transferred, because he was to small. Best Soldier in the history of America!!!
When Admiral Richards was born, he carried his mother home from the hospital. In school the teachers raised their hands to talk to him. Prolonged exposure to Admiral Richards is a performance enhancing substance.
Hearing him talk about his guys and hearing his emotion brings me to tears, and I spent 9 yrs on gunships! Thank you, Admiral, for your dedication to your men!
I need to preface the fact that I am neither a veteran or enlisted. But listen to Jocko religiously. I understand the sacrifice and appreciate it tenfold. Listening to Admiral Thomas break up in the beginning talking about getting his men back over the ledge is something that would make anyone tear up. That a man of that stature and proess breaks up speaking about that shows the amount of brotherhood and love for each other and country that is 2nd to none. Thank you all listening to or reading this for your service. I know sometimes it seems unappreciated but there are those of us at home that if anything were to happen on home soil we will be the first to join you and pull you back over the ledge. "I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees." GOD BLESS YOU ALL and THANK YOU. ---From a small town farmer in Nebraska.
This conversation demonstrates why masculinity is paramount to society and the future of humanity. Instead of demonizing it, we should be celebrating the healthy versions of it.
being introduced to jocko's guests has been like a video game where each newly introduced character gets stronger and more badass than the last lol (they're all amazing).
Thank you all for sharing these incredible stories of the most intense stories of adversity and heroism! This podcast keeps my daily stresses in check as a full-time electrician, small buisness owner, father and husband . This is as intense as life can get and me and my family thank every service member to give my family the safety and allow my insignificant worries be so serious. Thank you 🤘
Nothing better than a first person account of action. Documentary of these situations is paramount to the future success of the forces. Thank you for continuing to put these interviews online. Without these documentary interviews, their stories would fade into obscurity. Forever Hero’s to our American citizens! Please never get discouraged, these are inspiring moments that must be passed generationally.
One of the most interesting and knowledgeable guests Jocko's had on his podcast! I could listen to the Hulk all day tell stories and never be bored. Thanks for your dedicated and lengthy service to this great nation, Sir.
I recently came across a Top-secret research paper that has tried to combine the admirals DNA with Jockos DNA. The researchers concluded that it is simply not safe, being that it would possibly lead to a big bang opening another universe. The universe would only contain super SEAL’s that are born with superhuman strength, Olympic wrestling abilities, and a red belt in jujitsu, just to name a few.
Thank you so much gentlemen, Jocko, Echo, Admiral Richards for giving yourselves to us, the american people! Thank you very very much for honoring also on this podcast Commander Marcinko....He was my inspiration as a young man 30yrs ago as I read his book " Rogue Warrior" Amazing man warrior human being!...He I know loved the Navy and his men his teams....he didnt love the P.C. Just came across this podcast, though I follow Jocko faithfully. I went through BUD/S with Mr. Richards, when he was an Ensign, and Airborne training, at Ft. Benning. We were in sister platoons, in Vietnam. Because of his muscle mass, he was seriously challenged, during BUD/S, but with the heart of a lion, he prevailed. He had our greatest respect, back then, and still, today. HOOYAH, HULK! I hope to see you at the renunion, this summer.
WOW! Thanks so much for the opportunity to listen in on an amazing conversation. And, I’ll add that I’ve been through childbirth and have a beautiful daughter, but I NEVER want to attempt to take a bone out of my hand with my teeth! 😳
I love this man. He is a fucking legend, and nothing short of that. I am thankful this gentleman entered our US military; we are so much better for it. This was a brilliant talk, this will become an absolute favorite of mine
My hope and prayer is that someone at the Pentagon watches this and shows the intro segment to SecDef, who immediately corrects the error and bestows upon the courageous Admiral the medal that he earned by exhibiting total disregard to his personal safety. It is so deeply moving to listen to, but listening to the Admiral recall that day definitely coincided with massive airborne cut onions and allergy attacks among many of us. How could it not.
2 hours in he has the best explanation of real PTSD and it shouldn’t even be called a disorder he is 100 percent right same with many disorders it confuses people into thinking negatively when really it’s something you can figure out with help and dedication

There's another Michael Thornton from the teams, not the MOH winner. He's well spoken, has a very interesting story worth taking a look at. I served with him in the late 80's, we were both HM's, he's now a medical doctor. He survived a nightmarish experience while on active duty, he's well spoken and would be a great interview if he's willing to talk about it.

Legend has it “the Hulk” is actually just the proper way to address the mustache. Also, 4 whole hours and I still can’t decide who’s body count is higher, Admiral Thomas’ body count of enemies on the battlefield, or “the Hulk’s” body count of ladies who THOUGHT they could survive a mustache ride.

Did the US military secretly clone Teddy Roosevelt and put him in the seal teams?!
Lol....damn

Reminds me of another badass ol' Frog CMC Davis! I would lose my mind if Jocko got him on the podcast.

Yeah for real. Idk why they would waste the opportunity even for PR of such a cool dude doing such a great thing.
