I grew up in Oakland CA. Lived on lake Merritt. Went to lake shore elementary. I like how positive you are about Oakland even though the quality of life has gone down in the last 40 years .
Well, many would argue the quality of life in ALL of CA and the USA has gone down in the last 40 years. Oakland has it's challenges, but good has happened here, too.
Rich, you nailed it! Great work. I grew up here, left, and came back. Emeryville is and has been the little secret by The Bay. Evolution is inevitable. Everything must change & nothing remains the same. The history of Emeryville is one thing, but the leadership and community leaders is what is to be commended for how thriving this City has evolved in 2024. You have to give credit where credit is due. The rest of the nation, surrounding city governments and The State could benefit from taking a crash course on how to utilize Ai technologies towards strategically and effectively evolving their City...just as Emeryville did it and is ...doing it. Cheers!
Thanks for stopping by to watch and comment. I really appreciate it. I try to address the good and the bad in my video. people often just hear about the challenging aspects of somewhere like Emeryville and not its good aspects.
People can be so annoying in the comments section. 🤨🙄 Great video, sir. I'm 24 years old, and I feel like I can live in Emeryville for work. Not too crowded, so that's a +. A little expensive, but it's a clean city.
I've lived in bad neighbors but now that I'm older in my 30s I want peace and not into that shot no more and I think about career now, its the pricey part I am worried about but I don't want to live in the hood , been there done that
I can't believe how many negative comments you got, there are a few nice neighborhoods and suburbs on the bay area, if you can't afford it or don't like it GTFO
THANK YOU ive been watching emeryville from urbanist channels like Not Just Bikes, gotta say, im more tempted to live there @@RichFlemingRealtor ignore the haters, it is what it is (: remember, they're not making threats most of the time :) - mico
Emeryville, like most places, has its challenges and I never claimed otherwise. But, like most cities, there is WAY more good in Emeryville than bad. I hope you enjoy the utopia you live in.

Even in the 80s and 90s when I lived there the crime was pretty bad.the high school had metal detectors at the entry points like court buildings
What about the crime rate?
Crime varies by neighborhood. If you look at crime maps, they generally show lower crime on the westside of the city as opposed to the east side.
Definitely not a family friendly town. You should have mentioned key Amtrak access as well.
No "affordable" housing, like most of the Bay Area
You're correct about the Amtrak and the lack of affordable housing. it's a nationwide challenge, but especially acute in the Bay Area.

Thanks. It's social media ... the haters ALWAYS come out. It's the silent majority I'm trying to help.

HAHAHAHA! Had to be a realtor saying how great Emeryville is, ignoring the crime rate.
